Hey! I've tired all, through Daz Central, DIM and manually, yet still having the issue. Now when pressing install, it starts then disappears instantly as it obviously notices it has it installed already. I'm really not sure what to do, it's messing with my render queues.

Since you get this inside DS and you allow the installation, it means that you have also installed the starter essentials inside DS which renders all the other installation methods non-relevant.

Whatever is installed within DS, is being installed to a completely different location and gets priority over all the other installation methods, even when the installation gets botched which it often does.

Inside DS, go to 'Smart' Content, locate the product and try to uninstall, close DS, wait a while and start again - Can you load G8/G8.1 characters without warnings?

In the future do not log in to DS, but use it in offline mode.

I uninstalled it and pressed work offline, restarted and and loaded up a scene file I've been getting the pop up in and still got it (but now it's greyed out rather than blue). Beyond frustrating - how do I log out permanently?  I've never really used install manager, I like to keep my directories tidy so install manually, I'm guessing the problem has been caused from here somewhere. It's just this one issue I'm having, but need to fix it so it doesn't stop my render queue from running over night.

I can load a Gen8 character fine, but not surprised as I've installed this into each five of my directories manually so I doubt they'd be an issue. It's frustrating as it's clearly installed. Any suggestions? Thanks for the input btw!

I install via Daz Central and I use Daz Studio 4.15 Pro

I use Daz Central and I love it. I have a question:

How do I do the updates on the Daz Studio. I get a notification saying I have a message and it seems the Das Studio has an update. Now how do I do that. I click on the message and I see no place to update my studio. The messge just stares back at me. Now how do I go about updating the Daz studio in Daz Central. I love Central but with the old DIM you got updates when you made a purchase, now the Central just quickly uploads the new purchase but I don't see where to update the studio in Central.

Well, now I've got the (another?) new checkout page. Per item thumbnail, name, list price, sale price, % discount, add to favorites, remove. Optional interactive license.

You can optionally add store credit or defer the choice until payment due. Place for Coupon Code, and Gift Card. Big blue button to proceed to Payment. There is a "Clear Shopping Cart" link trying to hide in itty-bitty text at the bottom. It really should be more obvious, even if it goes against marketing practices...

ETA: "Save for Later" on the Store Credit lets you choose a different payment method on the next page, which you won't have if you select Store Credit on the Checkout page (you can save it for later here, too). You can see the contents of the cart in another drop-down, but you can't change it from there. There is no "Edit Cart" button, but you can just go back a page.

The Order Confirmation Page has links for DAZ Central and Install Manager (DAZ Central gets the big blue button, DIM just gets plain text, natch). There are links to "View Invoice" and "Print" but the functions are reversed. "Print" goes to the standard Order Page, "View Invoice" goes to the Print Invoice page. And, let's not forget the ubiquitous marketing for even more Recommended Products, just for you...

As I said Central was meant to be noob friendly so any instructions also need to be noob friendly and the current ones are not.

I still have this issue on Catalina .  The contentCluster  did not exists. So I created it. Additional I run Your tool to chack naming also (because there is an error when contencluster does not exist or is written wrong. The start and stop cms are still greyed

I think the postgres does not start at all because nmap localhost shows not any postgresport.

In the Installation log there is very strange output :

I attach hlog and log.txt from the installation Manager.  . I tried Both ways of Installion vie the central ...Thing amd the DIM-application) the result is the same.
So I do not know any more what to do

1) probably not - it's more likely that, assuming the content you have added includes morphs and characters and that the slow down is in scenes with figures, the number of potentially linked proeprties DS has to scan through on each adjustment is having an impact.

2) yes, Install manager and Daz central store absolute locations but Daz Studio itself is interested only in the relative location of fiels within the content directory, so you can move (and/or rename) the My Library folder as long as you tell Daz studio where it has gone via Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory manager.

Wow honestly that sucks ,but glad you are back and doing better ,ummm maybe post-it-notes would help a little to fight the short term memory loss,or you could have the family leave them all over with jokes and such if nothing else it would be a distraction . I think you will know when you are ready for a new fur baby,or one will show up that tells you you are ready ,happens that way sometimes .You'll never forget him so that's a good thing .

 Or maybe you could develop the habit of journaling in the evening, like gazing at the past day and writing down some of your thoughts and feelings, to read them next day in the morning. Very sorry for the harsh way life is treating you @frank0314 :-(

My computer and phone have so many notes and alarms it's hilarious. That is how I have to remember things. I get up and review everything to catch myself up and spark a brief memory. I can remember what I was doing at that time and the event taking place but I can't remember anything that was talked about or what it was even about. My Dr recommended starting a journal to help spark memories and to play some games that will work on boosting brain activity.

Have been banging my head on this for weeks.

Issues with Daz Central:

• After a certain amount of time after startup, the UI/Application just HANGS. CPU ramps up. No network activity. Unresponsive. Have to kill.
• After attempting a download, will also hang.
• Can't reliably recognize that Daz Studio IS installed.
• Configuration for locations/paths is non-sensical.... and gets ignored or wiped every now and then....
• Does not start up the Postgresql database!! No option to start up from Daz Central.

Daz Install Manager:

• Simple and JUST WORKS.
• Does not hang.
• Setting/managing paths/destinations better... but still a MAJOR PITA if installing and using an external disk.
• There is an option to "restart" the CMS... but it doesn't do anything. No errors. No status updates. Nothing. WTH.

Things to fix/address:

• Either FIX the stability and performance issues on Daz Central or give it up and stop wasting time on it.
• ASK for installation parent folders at install time.... don't just install files all over the dang place.
• If the CMS/DB is down, actually offer help/instructions/commands/etc. to address the issue. NOWHERE do I see anything to re-init the database... point to the database, etc. Black Box Configurations = FAIL.
