Possibly Distributing My Anthro Work If Interested Via The Daz Shop (Applying To Be A PA... Maybe)

I got so excited to discover this thread, and groaned out loud when I saw the last talk of publishing models was back in 2024.
Yeah, this forum has an amazing number of necro-threads that pop up. (No problem with that, per se, but when people ressurect them by posting, it sure would be nice if the first new post would make it clear.) The sad thing here is that the artist is clearly quite talented and yet nothing has ever shown up in either this store or any of the others... well, at least under that name or the True ELement Games name they briefly had a Patreon and YouTube presence under... and we're all left with the puzzle of why it hasn't happened. My personal guess, and I have to stress that it's really just a wild ass guess, is that the artist does specifically mentions using a lot of older tech like G8, LOOK AT MY HAIR, etc., and that, combined with the already niche market of being Anthro/furry, may have limited sales potential from DAZ's point of view...
more....Wacky Modelling ~ In Carrara ~It's pretty calm downunder but Europe mainly Spain and France are copping it bad as well as Canada.
So sad to see.
In other news Hivewire forum closes for good today 31st.
Duplicate files issue *Solved*Duplicate formula issue usually comes from two main reasons: 1) two or more modifiers have the very same url (i.e. "id", not modifer "name"); 2) two or more very same formulas saved in one DSF file (usually comes from ERC Freeze for times or wrongly modify DSF manually... )
The log shows that the issue you have comes from 2) ... since more likely you converted the figure from G3F to G8F with XTransfer which might've created two same formulas in the DSF file.
If you already had the DSF file deleted : E:/Daz Main Install/Daz/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female/Morphs/XTransfer/P3DOZI/Avery/XT_Avery Head.dsf from all the XTransfer data folders in all your Daz Libraries, the issue should be gone.
So, search XT_Avery Head.dsf in the data folders of all your Daz Libraries (check if there're same formulas within the DSF by using Notepad++ if you can find the files...), delete the duplicate formula or delete all XT_Avery Head.dsf files.
Edit: If the issue still stubbornly persists, try: in Preferences, Clear DSON Cache Files, and test again.
Duplicate files issue *Solved*Hello there, all good people of the 3D space. Been using Daz for almost a decade now, but this is the first time I actually post on this forum, so hopefully someone out there can help a confused old man here.
So, the issue I am facing is the following: I am using Genesis 8.1 as my main figure, and sometimes I use the XTransfer tool to port old Gen 3 characters and morphs to Gen 8. Recently I installed a new gen 3 character, with the specific intent to port it to gen 8, since I needed the face morph for a character I am doing. The issue is, after porting the morphs, I was met with a "Duplicate files formula found" or something to that accord. A quick google search told me I had likely already copied that character, which made no sense to me, as I hadn't owned it peviously.
Then, I realized that the character is actually the same as one I already owned, except it's not the same. Not completely at least.
This is the character I bought recently: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/116805/avery
And this is the character I already owned: https://www.daz3d.com/avery-for-genesis-3-female-s
Despite having the same name, the previews look nothing alike to my eyes, and the artists are different, so I didn't connect the pieces, that it was the same figure. There are differences though, especially with the textures for the renderosity one, as it shares the same moles, only it looks to have been flipped horizontally and the color saturation is horrible vs the daz one. Still, the 2 shared the same morphs, so I decided the easy solution was "okay, I did a dumb-dumb" and deleted the renderosity character, before deleting the duplicated files mentioned in the logs. After this, I ported the morphs from the Avery from daz and...... same issue again. Duplicate files.

Daz Studio and LinuxYou haven't specified what layout yout keyboard is but I'm slightly confused as to why you would need the ALT key to generate an @ symbol on a generic Dell model (SHIFT 2 for a US layout ??) but my first port of call would be to check that the OS is using the keyboard layout you expect it to, i.e. check the internal OS mapping matches the physical layout of your actual keyboard. It's never the easy answer (!) so I'm going to guess that it is set up correctly but it's worth a look. In the console:
localectl status
I do suggest bookmarking the Arch wiki - have a read through this as it may offer a solution:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Linux_console/Keyboard_configuration
In the Manjaro UI, under keyboard settings, also check the keyboard model matches - the Dell should be set to one of the generic keyboards - 105 key, for example, if you have a full number pad.
---
I highly recommend you find and join a Manjaro forum you like the look of and appears active. Because we're both running Arch-based distros I can offer some help but it's inevitably going to be limited if you have to dive into the weeds to solve an issue. OS-specific Linux forums have a bit of an undeserved reputation for being brutal to people who ask beginners' questions but I think this is a stereotype. You will generally find most people are more than willing to help a new convert to their religion and most folks using them will know far more than I do :)
Great that you got Studio et.al. installed but, as always with unconventional hardware setups, this is going to get very technical, very quickly.

Also when I was in Reston, VA there was a wildlife park, zoo type of thing that had a big fenced in area a few blocks from our condo.
Don't forget the panthers and bears. We have them in Central Florida.
We used to have fun with people in other states by warning them to be careful during night sightings of armadillos. "Jumping Armadillos" was an urban myth, but we sold it for all it was worth! As lore would have it, you could be driving along and an armmadillo would jump up in front of your car, causing you to hit it with your windshield. Fun times; I miss those days!
...Mmmm... sardines in mustard sauce on saltine crackers.

What's the recommended mustard sauce?
Whatever is in the tin with the dead fish. I know sardines are sometimes packed in oil but, we've always gotten them packed in mustard sauce. A thick yellow mustard. Mmmm..., that's-a-spicy fish.

They pack them in hot sauce and ketchup, too.

I don't even have search indexing on that drive.
RELEASED: Sandy Shore (Formerly, something something beach waves)MimicMolly's Renders & WIPsMost of my June and July art projects involved hand drawing or writing, so nothing I'd consider DAZ-related.
In fact, yesterday I finally downloaded DAZ Studio 6 because I'm curious about the Map Transfer feature. In DS 4.24, it is irreparably broken because it may've been tied to 3Delight to generate maps. (It stopped working after the 3Delight render engine was retired/removed.) When I tried it, it just gave me back a black image. I do have an older version of DS 4 that works as intended. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to check if this was "resolved" in DS 6. I don’t think it has because most people don't edit their textures like I do. The "proper" texture artists stick to their specialized apps, and everyone else...they're DAZ artists because they want to make illustrations without having to draw or paint by hand.
Right now, I'm still working on my jacket texture that has my OCs featured in it. I have sketched Gina's brother on paper, and now digitally lining the art. I did do some "mixed media" in making the kaleidoscope effect as the background, since the jacket design is supposed to be abstract/random. I did want to draw Gina’s cousin instead but I do not have any drawings of the brother wearing his crown. He is usually wearing a beret or other soft hats. (The character is weakened by his psychic powers, which allow him to have extremely accurate visions of things that will happen, and perfect/flawless aim, so he is extremely dangerous with guns or bows or darts, etc.)

Also, the store has been updated like...2 weeks ago? It's very laggy on my phone, so I don't really window shop here anymore or visit the forums much. Before, I just wishlisted the items that caught my attention, then logged into my laptop to look into them further. I also liked RenderHub a lot, because it's a competitor site, I shouldn't speak of it much here. But due to a sudden policy change, that didn't affect me but affected many vendors I liked, it was finally enough for me to register to another competitor site. (I will just buy the last items from vendors I can't find anywhere else, and download everything.)
I will not name, names, but this competitor site I joined feels so...hostile and unwelcoming, that I'm not even sure if I should buy anything from them. Some RH vendors I like are on there and not Renderosity. There are other vendors that I've been wanting to buy stuff from but they seem to be only on this unwelcoming site.
Speaking of hostility, the updated Product Library...it finally has advanced search options...but the search options are...not good. Last week, there were several freebies by the vendor, Censored. So when I search "Censored" or "DAZ Originals," in the Artists section (the freebies had both listed as their creators), nothing comes up. I must type "CIJ" in order to find these freebies. So even that is annoying enough for me not to stop by often. -_-

At least the moderators could have said something about it - purely out of politeness towards the customers.
Any mods awake and doomscrolling the forum? ;)
Because it's past UTC midnight, Daz midnight, and Daz midday, and in the past, that's the point when QG does not happen unless a mod nudges Daz people.

There're two typical cases in terms of duplicate formula error: 1) Two or more Modifier assets (DSF files) have the very same URI ID; 2) Two or more very same URI formulae are saved within one Modifier asset.
The case you have is the latter. You can simply open Youth Muffin Lower Arms.dsf file with Notepad++, delete the coding blocks of the duplicate formula(e), i.e.
Search by: lThigh:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Genesis8Female.dsf#lThigh?end_point/x You should be able to locate two lines, then delete one coding block of them, starting from { to },
Save the DSF file. Reload G8F.
I tried to open the file Youth Muffin Lower Arms.dsf with my Notepad++ but I got unreadable text.
Daz files are compressed by default, you'll need to decompress the file to open it in notepad.
You can use the "Batch convert" tab in studio to decompress the file and open it in notepad++

Tool Requirements.Yeah, I just went to the Commercial Forum to see if there was any information on that and only Code66 had posted about his product.
I also know that @bluejuante's scripts in the past do not work on Macs. I would also like to know if the others also have the same limitation. Code66 is safe on that at least.
I have wishlisted five items but put none in the cart pending information on which versions of DAZ and OS they will work with.

You don't get moose up your way? We're in the hill country in north central MA, so maybe it's the elevation. I've had the occasional moose run through my yard. When they run, it sounds like a horse galloping. I've been inside on these occasions, because moose. Sometimes it's a lost moose calf, but we have had a couple of bigger ones. One walked downtown and went to Burger King. That made the news, IIRC. We also had a moose calf that stood on our front walk and had a staring contest with one of our cats through the screen door. That one was there for quite a while, just staring. And yeah, our bears are the black ones, thankfully. I'm still hoping for somebody to model one so I can render them.
GoogleAI:
Are there moose in Chautauqua county, NY?
No, there is no established or breeding moose population in Chautauqua County, New York. While the county features several local landmarks named after the animal—such as the Celoron Moose Lodge—actual wildlife sightings are incredibly rare anomalies. The vast majority of New York's estimated 700 moose live hundreds of miles away in the northeastern corner of the state, primarily clustered around the Adirondack Mountains and the Taconic Highlands.Understanding NY Moose DistributionThe Adirondack Core: New York's moose population naturally recolonized the state from Vermont and Canada starting in the 1980s. They prefer the dense boreal forests and commercial timberlands found Upstate.Wandering Individuals: Occasionally, young male moose (bulls) wander outside their typical territory during the fall mating season in search of new habitat or mates. These transient roamers are sometimes spotted in central or southeastern New York, but they rarely make it as far southwest as Chautauqua County.Local Wildlife Alternatives: If you see a large, dark animal in the Chautauqua woods, it is far more likely to be a white-tailed deer or a black bear. The Chautauqua County Health Department frequently notes that bear sightings increase across western New York during the early summer months.
Interesting. Makes sense that you wouldn't have them if they came from Vermont. We have moose signs on the highway here, so they're around quite a bit. There's something you don't want to hit. Back in the 90s I saw the remains of a Pontiac Fiero that had hit one way out toward the end of the Mass Pike near the NY border. It wasn't good. I hope the people lived. The car was squished.

The "The Weather Changes More Often than the Thread Title" Complaint ThreadOMG, a loose moose!
That would terrify me. Here in this little town we get bunnies, squirrel, deer, groundhogs, and even Black Bear but a moose would keep me in the hoose. When I lived in the suburbs of Washington DC (Reston, Virginia) our balcony overlooked a wooded area between our condo building and one in the development on the other side of the woods, and would see deer, fox and racoon. In Florida I've seen alligators, eagles, hawks, squirrels, coral snakes, water moccasin, opossum, big green iguanas, Horned Owls, and wild boar in neighborhoods. Also when I was in Reston, VA there was a wildlife park, zoo type of thing that had a big fenced in area a few blocks from our condo. In the field were American Bison, and several type of African deer-like beasties with long straight twisty horns. So very cool to drive out of town and count the buffalo as you go by. I'm OK with most type of critters but moose and goose (or is it meese and geese?) both give me the jitters.Non-complaint: Sardines: Oftentimes my Sunday afternoon treat snack is a shrimp cocktail, about a half dozen cold shrimp w/cocktail sauce. I thought about it earlier in the week but forgot to unthaw a few this morning. Feeling a bit peckish I decided on sardines. Mmmm... sardines in mustard sauce on saltine crackers.
