Ultimate PBR skin manager
I installed through Daz Central, so everything should be there. Where do you load it from? I see it in my PRODUCTS under "U." it has a script, but i st an error when I apply it. Do I apply it to the model, the texture? I see no menu windows when I use it. The instructions say nothing as to where it is or how to apply it. How doI get ahold of D3Ciditimes? I see no e-mail link or a place for questions.
moving file locationThere is no need to have both DIM and Central and DIM is the better of the two.
Ultimate PBR skin managerHow did you install? Scripts are often not written in a way that is compatible with installing through Daz Studio itself, so if that is what you did it may be worth uninstalling and installing through Daz Central or Daz Install Manager instead.
moving file locationthrough daz central, my texture file is 32 gibytes and my data file is about the same but I don't want to mess with it.
I have new Dim and daz central installed , i also used to instal manually and all these files went into c daz3d/ studio/ my librarys.
But most of those installed into daz by by daz central went to C/daz3d/ Applications/ Data / daz3d/ my Daz3d Library.
Daz Central Install PathI want Daz Central to install my content on my larger hard drive, rather than my smaller solid-state drive.
How do I accomplish this?

What do you mean by "not actually installed"?
Where does DazCentral install your content, and is that directory listed as a content directory in DS preferences?
"Not actually installed" meant Daz Central says Installed but it shows up in Smart Content as available for install. The problem was the base file path in Daz Central was set to "managed by DIM", which I don't use. Because I had fits trying to make Daz install somewhere other than the C: drive, I let Central install to the default path and then manually move it to my actual library on another drive. Apparently that stopped working at some point.Whatever 'Smart' Content is telling you - Don't listen !!!
Do yourself a favor, and configure DS for offline use, if you are using DIM or DAZ Central to install content, you do not need to log in/sign in to DS at any point, logging in is only needed for installing content with DAZ Connect within DS and then it gets installed to an other location.

Need a clean uninstall: HELP!!!I always did a manual uninstall of Daz directories and reg entries. It takes a while. Restart do a search of your computer for DAZ. Don't forget to search hidden files and folders also. Select all and delete. This will delete all forms of installers DIM and Daz Central and any downloads of the installers and all content. Most free reg cleaners will clean your registry up for the missing file associations of Daz.
Default resources? I'm missing iray uber baseNearly everything I've ever installed through Daz Central is not actually installed. WTF does Daz Central say it is installed?

DIM SettingWhen I tell DIM where Photoshop is on the Apps tab, do I just select the Photoshop folder under the ProgramFIles folder? Or some other location? I know Adobe also how a folder under the Common Files folder as well. I have a lot of brushes that I bought from the store, and I want them to go to the right place. When I look at either folder, I cannot find where it is storing the brushes. I swear there used to be a Brushes folder under the Presets folder maybe.
And when you tell it where Poser 11 is, do you pick where the exe is located? Or do you pick the folder where you want the content to go? I have Poser on C and the content on D
I'm setting up Daz on a new machine. They made it hard to find DIM. I think they want you to use Daz Central. That was easy to find. But I did find DIM eventually.
How to correctly configure assets library paths? With Daz Central you set one folder location and then it places everything in suf-folders of that. it sounds as if you used a stand-alone Daz Studio application installer. It's not a good diea to place anything but application in a Program Files folder - the default folder for Daz Central is, I think, just a Daz 3D folder in the root of the drive (e.g. D:/Daz 3D/).
It looks as if your paths do not match between Daz Central and Daz studio now - try starting Daz Studio, then download this script (using the link above the block of code) and drag the downloaded file into the Daz Studio Viewport to run it: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start then try reloading the content (by usign Run from Daz Central or by finding it in one for the content panes in Daz Studio).

As dumb as it sounds, you need to install Daz Central to uninstall Daz Studio
Clever idea, but unfortunately even that is not working. Indeed there is a drop-down uninstall button on Daz Central dashboard, but when I pressed it, instead of uninstalling, the program started installing itself again !?
How did you install initially? Installing Daz Central, if that wasn't used, is not the solution.

Genesis 8 basic female missingThat subfolder contains the metadata that DAZ Connect has retrieved while you have been logged/signed in to DS. That can play havoc with your DIM/DAZ Central/Manually installed content.
You could try setting that folder as "hidden" in Windows Explorer and then re-importing metadata, but stop logging in to DS first. Attached a pic of my startup settings for offline use.
Right click at the hamburger menu in the "Content Library" tab
Select "Content DB Maintenance"
Check "Re-import Metadata" and "Accept"
It will take a while for DS to populate the list (a few minutes on mine)
First uncheck all and then scroll down the list until you come to 'Genesis 8 Starter Essentials', SKU 42071 (the SKU number is easy to spot), as far as I remember there were three related ones, check them and Accept/Ok.Did Genesis 8 Basic Female start working again?
So in the last 2 installs of DS Pro 4.15 goes in application folder why...?ok even in dim look at the paths...3D application...Same in Central same in DIM...Ok this is not hardcoded thru my plugin it is something thru DAZ....

To remove the Connect installs, select the affected products (you can select more than one in the products tab of Smart Content, right-click on one of the selected items, and select Uninstall. if you delete the files DS will still try loading them, and will ignore the non-Connect files.
OK, I'm trying this now, although I don't understand your last sentence. Also, some of the files which don't work, and which I'm uninstalling, show that they're in the correct (DAZLibrary rather than DAZConnect) path when you browse to them, so I'm not clear what will happen when I uninstall those? Will the DAZ connect or DAZ Library files be uninstalled?
The Connect Installation is entirely separate from any manual/Daz Central/DIM installation, having Daz Studio remove it will not touch any other installation's files.
While the database shows a Connect install then DS will try opening the files from the /Data/cloud/1_sku/path_to_the_file/ location, even if it isn't there 9at which point it will report an error) and it will not look in the plain /path_to_the_file/ location, so if the files are there that does no good.
Product INSTALL issue"DIM is older, and Daz Central is pretty much just a skin on DIM"
So it is already what I suggested.
".../Cloud/Meta/ - Remove everything from that folder and it is impossible to see any BW thumbnails or white circles ever again, unless you log in to DS again."
OK. I did that. I'm home from work and I had both my Desktop and Laptop re-installing from the saved product files while I was away. Now, I look to see what it looks like without anything in the .../Cloud and /Meta/ folders. My fingers are crossed. What do I do if some products lack a product image and won't load?
Genesis 8 basic female missingDAZ Central and DIM are not DAZ Connect.
You use DAZ Connect when installing/updating content inside DS, if you have logged in to DS - There is only one reason for logging into DS and that is installing content with DAZ Connect.
DAZ Connect installs content to yet another location and everything that's installed/updated with DAZ Connect gets priority over the files installed with DIM/DAZ Central/Manual installation, even when the Connect installed ones are not working and the other ones would work just fine.Have you looked in DAZ Studio Formats, does G8F load from there?
Ps. Stop logging in to DS.
