Search feature in Content Database menus
You can also copy the matching .dsa files from /Runtime/Support/ to
%appdata%/daz 3d/studio4/runonce
and start DS - I think I am right in recalling that that will import the product's metadata.
Search feature in Content Database menusIf you are just looking to import one specific product's metadata then perhaps this freebie script would help?

Content Database menus ??? do you mean Content Library tab?
I assume that you have read the help file regarding the search functions available in the Content Library tab and in the Smart Content >Files and >Products tabs.
What sort of search are you looking for that those do not already provide? No, maybe I just didn't explain it well enough.
What I mean is a search function under DB Maintnance - Re-Import Metadata. I thought the list of installed products with meta data also showed on "Process Metadata Que" but I guess i was mistaken unless you also click re-import metadata.
Moving DAZ Studio and content to new PC- Content DB Maintenance -> Export metadata (to save any changes you have made)
- Content Director Manager -> Expand all sections and take a screnshot (so you know how the old setup was configured)
- Copy the entire library folder as-is to the new machine (repeat for each library you have configured)
- Copy the Manifest folder from DIM to the new machine (so your new machine will know what is installed)
- In DIM on the new machine link up the manifest folder (if you did not override the default) and the location of your main library
- In Daz Studio on the new machine add the libraries as per the screenshot you made (adjusting if necessary based on new locations on the new machine)
- Content DB Maintenance -> Re-import metadata -> You should see all your expected products pre-checked -> click OK
- Make a cup of tea while you wait for the process to complete
That's the basics I think. If you have made changes to your style/layout/menus those won't be copied over. Not sure if you can do that, particularly with the menus, as I think the UUIDs don't match and you get broken links in there.
Oh, you'll also need to re-install any plugin products since they will need to re-inject library files into the new install. Likewise you may need to re-input your licence codes for any plugins that use those but you can get those from your account profile.
EDIT: The above assumes you use DIM (Daz Install Manager) exclusively and not Daz Connect (i.e. you always work offline in Daz Studio) if not then it's probably more complicated and so you'd need someone else to help with the cloud folder stuff.

OBJ is static, FBX can carry rigging - though you want to be using the current beta to take advantage of some improvements there.
File>Import will let you bring in FBX and OBJ files (OBJ requires setting options to make sure the scale is correct).
If Iray is the current render then the Iray Uber base shader will be applied on import, if not seelct the model in the Scene and its surfaces in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane, then double-click the Iray Uber Base preset in the Presets tab. The Surfaces pane's editor tab is also where you apply maps (by drag-and-drop or by clicking the icon to the left of the colour proeprty and selecting Browse...)
Thank you for replying.
Nvidia Iray needs to be selected, not texture or filament or any of the options in the viewpoint sceen? Or is it a totally different Iray option?
Current Beta? Do you mean Daz or Iray Uber?

I've been looking for a particular model Incendiary Rocket Launcher that's compatible with Daz Studios 4.22 Genesis 8, 8.1 & 9 M/F characters.
My questions are: Are these IRLs compatible?
- How is the IRL imported into Daz?
You can import FBX, and hopefully it retains its rigging, or you can import FBX and rig it yourself inside DS.
FBX files are prefered over .obj in this instance, why?
- How are FBX files installed into Daz?
- I have not done any rigging before. Any tutorials that would be easy to follow?
- Will they work, behave and render correctly with Iray?
Textures generally don't survive transferring from one program/format to another, so you'll likely have to set the shaders up yourself. Iray Uber is a very generalized shader, so all you really need to do is figure out which map goes in which slot.
- Where is Iray Uber and how is it used?
- How are the shader files setup?
- How are the map files selected and imported to the correct locations?
Also, it's not exactly the same as what you're looking at, but this is pretty damn close, and it's already very well rigged and comes with some firing hand poses. You could throw some worn metal shaders on it to make it look more like your examples.
I've seen this. IMO, it looks like a toy. I'd still prefer the model IRL I posted in the OP.
How to make a character crushed under somethinglol great idea, pose your character into the crushed position. then export them as an obj with children. import that into Blender. Go wild in sculpt mode crushing the crud out of them the way you want. export that out as an obj.bring it back into daz. Reapply (this may take some patience all the materials and shaders)
Would someone PLEASE make G9 a police uniform? The speedy option is to get the police uniform in OBJ or FBX from artstation and import/convert them to Gen9. But redo texture and material can be a pain,
Here's a male version i converted to female version with 30 mins of work, far from perfect but better than no options, artstation has pretty much everything from your imagination.
Vertices vs Faces?A product that is no longer sold (not from this store). The Geometry Editor route seems to be the best solution. I got some kind of message from MLP about there being no morphs (I think because I just imported the OBJ without creating any morphs in Blender) but no geometry mismatch error. Funny thing is that I remember now that I created morphs for this wayy back when I had access to ZBrush and GOZ and that worked perfectly. So the OBJ exchange with Blender seems to be a problem.
I'll try to find a video on creating object morphs using Diffeo - I couldn't find an option for export/import of props rather than Genesis figures. Maybe my settings were wrong.

- How is the IRL positioned and gripped by the character. Usually it is placed onto the shoulder and gripped by both hands. I do have weapon pose packs.
I don't know if any pre-made poses are going to work for something like this. You could probably use a hand pose from a rifle for the trigger pull, but might be on your own for posing the other hand for support.

Okay, serious weirdness. I have been on my Win 11 using its browser Edge. But to answer @Taoz' question I had turned to my old iMac and using Google Chrome I typed in 'stage' in that Product Line and the product showed up! I had bought Royal Post Line for the RHS Stagecoach in Oct 2020. The iMac is my primary computer that I review the store, purchase, have my DAZ+ setup and also my records of promo files. It was just that this morning I was focused on adding metadata on files on the Win 11. That includes the PA names as I like to recognize their talents.
Thank you to everyone who tried to help me. Like I said, totally weird that Win 11 and Edge failed this time.

Try clearing your site cookies. Another user reported success with this sort of problem by clearing them. Since it seems to browser instance dependent, they probably go stale and don't get refreshed properly.

So being short-staffed on Daz side sounds like a truth ~~ ...
Unless a company is grossly overstaffed, or very large, coping with a sudden flood of activity is going to be challenging at best.
Sudden? So which is the case? Daz was surprised by a large amount of content which it had no choice but to release as soon as possible, or Daz planned and chose to release content on its own schedule? Of course, the PAs didn't want to go for an extended time with those products not being available for sale until the metadata matters were squared away, but that concern needed to be weighed against some customer dissatisfaction, some completely avoidable refunds, and some PAs ending up on some customers' "Avoid Their Content" lists.
A number of PAs wanted to move a large number of items across in a very limited timeframe, Daz wanted to acept, the metadata could not be fitted in to that and they certainly couldn't ask the PAs to wait for months for the releases.
We understand this was a one-time initiative. I'm fine with Daz releasing content that doesn't have Smart Content functionality, but that is something that could've been easily brought to the attention of customers. Just a matter of applying some boilerplate: Note--This product does not currently have full Smart Content functionality. It would not have been a major effort to include a note in the product descriptions.

Search feature in Content Database menusI've already submitted a request feature, but does anybody know a plugin or something that adds this to the process que or re-import metadata menus. I'm surprised something like this just doesn't naturally exist. It becomes a pain everytime having to search through xx number of products. Though I'm sure not everybody needs to do this as often as I do as i frequently re-arrange libraries and have multiple libraries to keep everything nice an ogranized in content library as some products even with Content Wizard and Content Package Assist, don't play nice with the smart content.

Trouble with Dresses Moved Over from RendoI buy from other stores, and I don't care about metadata. I do like a populated readme page and especially included files list. Then again, readme doesn't give download size. That's a bother! Been getting some comically large downloads lately.

I can not remember 100% but I THINK it was mentioned that eventually they would be adding meta data to the migrated products, again I can't remember so please don't hold me to that lol.
I can't remember either, but in a thread back in May we were told (one of the mods, but since I don't remember who, and don't care enough to try to dig it out, I'm not naming any names) that these products will not get metadata. I think the reasoning was "too much work", but again, that would require digging through the forum and finding the exact wording.
If you were promised updated metadata, there's hope, but from my perspective, the damage is done. I hope you got some sales from people who care less about the metadata.
In practice, we were told not to expect metadata for the migrated products due to the huge volume of those products.
Vertices vs Faces?Exporting by ticking "Removed Unused..." won't help as unused vertecis are still on the Prop in DS... so there'll be always geometry mismatch when importing OBJ back with MLP. Try deleting them with Geometry Editor firstly.
As for Diffeo, you may check this thread if needed https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/692276/import-problem-from-blender#latest
Vertices vs Faces?Thanks.
I did try the export settings with "Remove Unused" but that didn't help. I didn't know I could do it with the Geometry editor.
I have wondered about using Diffeo to export but I'm clueless about how to import just the morphs doing it like that.
