..and Thanks for the rapid response, by the way. I really appreciate it, and all of the hard work you and Thomas (and community) put into all of this!
If you want to use aniblocks, you have to bake them to studio keyframes and it should transfer okay. Also I've found that if you use the power pose tool, those typically get brought in wonky, mainly for the arms and legs, so just stick to dials or moving the arrows and all should be a-okay as well.
Question:- Was permission received to copy the model? Answer:- YESJeniMorris said:The ears are actually a geograft so a separate model that can be attached or not and the textures were built for human ears and for the geograft ears ;-)

@JeniMorris Are those big elf ears separate morphs or part of the head shape? I've seen some characters, like Edie 8, that don't specify on the Product Description but they're separate dials.
Goood to know, should really be stated in the Product Description too. Also interesting, and yes I missed that promo pic, looked through it too fast. I'm gonna wait to see before I pick her up. These past releases had more stuff that appealed to me in the second bundle. Thanks.Havos said:MimicMolly said:

In one of the promos where she stands in 4 directions she has normal ears, so I think we can assume the morph is separate.
The completely gratuitous complaint threadComplaint...
F*****g Apple... Urrrrrgh!... F**k them and their stupid Photos app... It's garbage wrapped in rotting garbage stuffed in a sack of soiled gorilla diapers that have been sitting in the sun in Arizona in June.
I hate Photos with passion that transcends reasonable logic... it sucks and Apple insists on having you deal with it as the gatekeeper to your photos. You used to be able to hook up your phone, open preview and direct the goddamn computer to transfer the pictures to any damn folder you want... or crappy iPhoto if you were into kinky self inflicted pain...
Now the moment you connect the phone to a Mac, it's like "oh no you don't, this is going straight to to Photo where you'll have to jump through hoops to sort this out"...
Forget doing that on a PC because it disconnects every few minutes, especially if you are doing a big .mov file... I so wanna go down to Cupertino with my favorite whacking shovel and express my discontent with those responsible for the aforementioned discontent.
This is literally a ten minute thing that so far has involved three computers, three operating systems and an hour and forty minutes of my time and I'm still not close to started because I'm now updating the OS on my MacBook to allow it to recognize the goddamn phone.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I think some kind of caching would be useful here.
There is already a cache file (text file) that contains the the information inside the morph files sans the deltas
As I suspect then, with many other things Daz related, it's how the UI consumes it that's the problem. I wonder if a newer version of the framework will improve matters (they're working on that).
It isn't the UI. As I have pointed out before, DS is having to do a lot of necessary work establishing the links between properties so that they will triger and be triggerd correctly, and that seems to account for a major part of the time taken (traversing the links when zeroing a pose, for example, can also take a long time and therea re no UI changes there).
There are morphs where cross-talking does not work properly for V4 outfits in daz 4.15Linked to the issue I posted earlier,(Auto fit of v4 costumes to G3F doesn't work well with daz 4.12. - Daz 3D Forums , Auto fit of v4 costumes to G3F doesn't work well with daz 4.11. - Daz 3D Forums)
but some morphs don't work properly for V4 costumes when auto-fitting a V4 costume to another generation figure.
Upon further investigation by myself, it seems that the problematic morph is due to the fact that the FBM morph, which should normally be generated automatically when auto-fitting a v4 costume, is not generated. This problem is also occurring on the G8 and G3. Is there a way to fix this?
If possible, it would be helpful if there was a way to solve this problem for Auto fit as a whole, rather than for individual outfits.

O.o Ok I Can See the Morphs When they are not fitted to the figure But once I fit them to the Figure they disapear!
That is the expected/intended behaviour - if a morph on a fitted item matches a morph on the figure fitted to then the morph on the fitted item is hidden. If you need to adjust it beyond the value inherited from the master then in the Parameters (or Shaping) pane's option menu (the lined/hamburger buttion in the top corner, or right-click the tab) enable Preferences>Show Hidden Properties.

I think you can use G8.1 in older versions of DS with G8 morphs if you copy the morphs manually from G8 morph folders to G8.1 morph folders.
DS 4.15 just reads the morph folders for both generations automatically for G8.1.
that's good to know, I guess I can test it with the new HD expressions included in the base

Daz problem Download a file and it over write the Genesis 8 Male Base ??In your first screenshot, it looks like the Alistair figure is dialed in (sort of). By chance, do you have that figure? There was an update a while back for Alistair to prevent his morph(s) from loading on base figures. If you use DIM, there should be an update in there for Alistair.
Not sure if that's what the problem is, but might be worth a look to see.

As a vendor, there's the issue of leaving behind customers who have not upgraded to 4.15 because of hardware, or have downgraded to a previous version because of bugs with the latest Iray, or whatever, and won't be able to load your characters.
Honestly, if I did that I'd ignore the vast majority who do want the new stuff. Not to mention those few staying behind will usually come around and upgrade anyway at some point. I cannot succeed commercially if all I'm worried about is that every last customer out there can use my product at any given time. Remember the reluctance when G8 came around? Very quickly this was forgotten and no G3 figures came out anymore. G8.1 is a much smaller step than that as literally all the G8 morphs still work on it. If I can't go for such a minor upgrade with even the name suggesting that it's just a "point release", then I don't think I could ever again move on from G8.
Would certainly like to hear everyone's opinions on the matter though. At least making the morphs work on G8 is still an option. There's gonna be a new genital HD morph included with the next girl, one that works on the raw figure and doesn't need any geograft products, just for hassle-free quick and dirty results. Probably not for close-ups but looks pretty decent at like mid range. And this I converted to G8 after the fact because I figured people may wanna use this with earlier characters without having to switch them to G8.1.

Scusami, quando creano i cosidetti "Character for" come fanno?
No aspetta, dico cosi:
Questa è Kalea 7 https://www.daz3d.com/kalea-7
Questa è Lilinoe per Kalea 7 https://www.daz3d.com/lilinoe-for-kalea-7
Ora, se io vado nella Shaping Table trovo il morph di Lilinoe, e se lo metto al 100% il morph di Kalea 7 va automaticamente al 75%. Cioè in Pratica Lilinoe è al 75% il corpo di Kalea più una nuova testa.
Ora, come faccio a fare la stessa cosa?
EDIT:
credo di aver trovato la risposta

8.1 on 8Now we are starting to see 8.1 characters I was curious how difficult it would be to edit data files to use them on 8.
I know the HDmorphs are encrypted but the file that references them isn't, just like the geograftted anatomical elements for genesis 3 are the same mesh as genesis 8 so copying and editing morphs to point to that file is possible as the same mesh.
I don't know if the UV map and surface differences would prevent this.
Textures one can use map transfer so less of a problem.
I am curious if I can actually use an 8.1 obj export to add a HDmorph shape in Carrara with Philemo's plugin too as that does use UV projection and subdivision to do it's magic, not curious enough to shell out money for a character to test it though
.Smooth animation in viewport ?I add any morph is playing smoothly, but things get laggy as soon as a movement is involved. The feature you need but that isn't in Daz, is for the timeline to record and play back the animation. Second best is rendering it to a set of .png using the OpenGL or new Filament renderer, then join the pngs using ffmpeg. I'm really not too sure why the performance is so terrible. I suspect like a lot of other issues in Daz it's the UI firing off a web of events whenever anything happens (I'm speculating of course).
Which product? So I wasn't the only one hoping it was a new product when I saw that banner.
Now, it shouldn't be too hard to make something like that ourselves in photoshop, there are several products out there with regular cards in their assets, so it'd be a matter of making some template(s) in Photoshop or Gimp for those. But, a dedicated Collectible Card Game product would be convenient. (one with a morph for rounded edges on the cards, please?
)Daz problem Download a file and it over write the Genesis 8 Male Base ??The character that you have installed is a morph to Genesis 8 Male base figure, and it means it will be automatically loaded and activated for any and all G8M based characters/figures you load or open in a saved scene, even ones saved many months ago and never since opened.
1. Open DS and load "Genesis 8 Basic Male" (to an empty scene)
2. Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File (clear the log, close it and select "Save" when asked)
3. Left Click at "Active Pane Options" tab->Preferences->Choose "Show Hidden Properties" (part 4 zeroes only 'visible' dials)
4. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Zero->Zero Figure (Zeroes the value of all the 'visible' dials)
5. Right Click at Parameters Tab->Memorize->Memorize Figure (Sets the current value of all the dials as their default value)
6. Edit->Save As->Support Asset->Save Modified Assets (Writes the changed default value to the morph files that were changed)When saving "Modified Assets" DS shows a dialog and asks for confirmation;
"The following file(s) will be permanently modified:" - "Accept/Cancel" - Choose "Accept"Close DS and wait -> Open DS again and load "Genesis 8 Basic Male"
Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File (Save the logfile somewhere you can easily find it)
If the Genesis 8 Basic Male is still looking like a Hulk, attach the log to your post with the "Attach a file" under the "Leave a Comment" window, that way we can have a look at it.
Daz problem Download a file and it over write the Genesis 8 Male Base ??I had this same problem a few days ago, what caused mine was a pair of boots my actor wore (days ago removed from scene) that left a hidden morph changing her toe pose. That toe pose got writen to the base figure as I did geografting practice. Any and all scenes I loaded after that point every Genesis was pointing her toes like she wanted a set of stiletto heals! Problem was I was making geografts of arms and stuff which works a lot better when the base figure is clean of all morphs.
Eyes Open Close Michael 8.1With the introduction of G8.1, DAZ added the base figures to "Genesis 8 Starter Essentials" and on DS 4.15 the G8.1 figures read not only the G8.1 morph folders but also the G8 morph folders, thus making it possible to use all the G8 characters and morphs on G8.1
For some yet unknown reason, they have added dummy/placeholder files to G8.1 morph folders, which are named the same as G8 equivalents, but having no function specified inside the files - When DS sees these dummy files, it overrides the base expressions and facial movements of G8 and there will be no dial for them for G8.1.
Ok, G8.1 has some base expressions of it's own, but... Quite a lot of PA made expressions are using the G8 base expressions for their effect and when those G8 base expressions cannot be found, tose expressions will do nothing, even though the dials for them can be found on G8.1.
When the dummy files are removed from G8.1 morph folders, the G8 base expressions and facial movements can be found on G8.1 and they will be working, as well as all the PA made G8 expressions start working too.
Just delete the files - They can always be installed back with the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials in the highly unlikely event that they would ever be needed.
