  • Daz to Unreal bridge missing modules

    Hey guys

I have a problem when enabling DaztoUnreal bridge. It shows me this error and nothing more. I installed official bridge from Daz central so I don't see why it shouldn't work. I tried multiple versions of Unreal Engine 4 (from 4.24 to 4.27) and it doesn't work at all. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

  • RESOLVED: Error loading Character - What am I doing wrong?

Please don't confuse Daz Central and Daz Connect. They are as different as night and day. Daz Central is a dumbed down version of DIM. Daz Connect is what is used when you install a product from within Daz Studio.

Deleting content files and reinstalling them might not fix this issue. Uninstalling from DIM if the product was installed with Daz Connect will not fix anything. If you truly want to nuke everything and start over, I think that involves resetting the database as well as deleting all content files. If you have ever created any categories of your own or assigned any content to categories, you would want to export user data before resetting the database.

A few questions to try to home in on the problem:

    1. Have you looked at the Daz Studio log file to see if there is any more information about the "Resource Error"? To do that, try to load Echo HD from within Daz Studio. As soon as you get the resource error and close the error window, go to the Help menu and select Troubleshooting and then View Log File... (See Screensot) A window will open full of log text. Scroll to the very bottom for the latest information. Do you see any details about the error, like WHAT resource is causing the problem?
    2. Can you load Genesis 8.1 Basic Female from inside Daz Studio OK, or do you get the same resource error?
    3. If you own Victoria 8.1, can you load her OK, or do you get the same resource error?
    4. To see if you have ever installed any products from inside Daz Studio (with Daz Connect) Open the Content Directory Manager and expand the Daz Connect Data section to find the path that Daz Connect uses. (See screenshot.) Then once you know that path, use your file explorer to navigate to that path and see if it  contains folders in the data/cloud subfolder. If you see a bunch of folders named 1_XXXXX, where the XXXXX is a bunch of numbers representing the SKU of a specific product, that means that you have installed that product with Daz Connect. If there are only a few, it may be fairly simple to uninstall those products from within Daz Studio. Uninstalling them with DIM will NOT remove them from Daz Connect. DIM and Daz Connect are entirely separate installations in different locations on your computer, but both populate the same database. Yes, it can become a big mess.

  • RESOLVED: Error loading Character - What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, Barbult. I am going to do some tracking down items to see if this happened. But I am 99% sure every character (specifically Echo HD 8.1) I installed using DIM. As I browsed through the Daz Central assets, I noticed that all the items said they were installed already.

When all else fails, delete and reinstall, right!? Although I am pretty sure that is what got me into this situation to begin with.

    To summarize so far:
I installed Daz content using the Daz Install Manager onto an external hard drive. When attempting to load Echo HD 8.1 into the scene, I receive the 'Resource error' warning me that the file could not be located. When I use the 'Browse to File Location...", of course, the file is easily brought up in the finder and can be loaded by double-clicking.

I appreciate all your contributions! Thank you!

Mistycomic, thx for the clarification. The menu has changed, there is no Scripts menu selection. I went to File > Send To and I do see the stock install of Send to Bryce and send to Hexagon. But I am not seeing Blender. I have  gone to Daz Central and installed it and opened it. I'm not sure what "open" does. Can't get it working. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

  • AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE TREDICI

  • RESOLVED: Error loading Character - What am I doing wrong?

I used the Daz Install Manager (DIM). Installing it twice was a concern for me. Let me explain...

I have some lasting confusion as to why some things install from DIM and others use Daz Central. To add to that confusion, there is an install tab in Daz Studio where some content shows up. Furthermore, there are multiple libraries (i.e. My Documents, and the one in the Program Files).

Confusion aside, I did install my library using default settings the first time. Since then, and currently, I moved my library to an external drive. I DID use DIM to uninstall and then re-install the entire library to the new path. That path is correct in Daz Studio and DIM.

  • RESOLVED: Error loading Character - What am I doing wrong?

How did you install the content? (Daz Install Manager, Daz Central, Manually from Product Library download, or from inside Daz Studio)? Hopefully you didn't install it twice - once outside Daz Studio and once from inside Daz Studio. That always leads to problems.

What is the complete folder path to the character file you are loading? (Where you say you can find it on the hard drive from outside Daz Studio).

From inside Daz Studio, right click on the thumbnail of the character file you are trying to load and select Browse to File Location. It should open or highlight the File Explorer in the Windows task bar. Look carefully at the File Explorer. Is that the same location where you find the file manually on your hard drive?

  • Daz Central won't install correctly!

That is one of the Microsoft Visual C++ 14 libraries, used in building the application. This installing Daz Central itself, not installing soemthing else with Daz Central? You could try using Install Manager, which is the same core application but with more granularity in its settings https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/

  • Daz Central won't install correctly!

I just made my account and downloaded Daz Central, but alas....I'm already facing problems. I followed the steps needed, but it fails to install one of the DLL's. The error code reads "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling may fix this problem." Sure, sounds fine. So I reinstalled, only to meet this again. So I uninstalled the software and re-downloaded. SAME ISSUE! Am I forgetting something? Did the devs screw up somewhere? Is there a way to fix this at all or am I doomed to never use this? What irks me is that the missing dll actually is missing, which makes me wonder if it is even in the installer at all. Every other dll and file is there. I installed this in multiple folders, with the main one being Program Files (x86). Any help is much appreciated!

    Was this ever FIXED!?

What? Yes, Daz Central works for installation - though ti lacks the flexibility of Instal manager (which was the whole point of the exercise). If you want help, seveal versions later, you are going to have to be more specific about your issue (and ideally include system details).

  • DazCentral won't install Daz studio

I had this hanging install issue and tried multiple suggestions from the forum and other sites with no success.  Eventually I found that closing Daz Central when it stuck, reopening and clicking install permitted it to progress the installation. A couple of times and a long time later Daz Studio installed.

  • Can't install 4.16 - [SOLVED]

    Hello,
I opned Daz 4.15 (windows 10 - 64bit) and saw this new update, so I closed the software.
    And did these steps:
1 - I Launched Daz Central tried to install it as suggested by default, when it was done, "LAUNCH" did nothing.
2 - So I tried via the Install Manger, after downloading and install I get this: Install Errors message box:
" This file could not be opned for reading. This package cannot be installed. "
I tried to uninstall, and re-install, but I get the same message.
Is this a bug? is there a way I can install 4.16 latest version?

    UPDATE: - SOLVED!
It seems like Daz3D was still working in the background after closing it,
I closed it via the Task Manager > Services, then installation worked.
I hope it helps, just in case anyone had the same issue.

well i see daz can be installed on os12. is there a road map? it never works for me. gets pat way there and say it will be installed after previous installations. if i leave it the beach ball spins for hours. if i click backcount it brings a screen fir istalling assets. I choose daz studio it gets to 57% and beachball time.  If instead of daz i pick an asset same happens. Any idea what might cause this?

    jim

I had the same problem. Tried with both Daz Central and DIM and both had the same issue. I'm on BigSur. Tried on a MacBook Pro running Monterey and no problem. The issue was to do with security settings. Go to System Preferences / Security & Privacy  select the Privacy tab and select "Full Disk Access". Put a tick in the box beside the DAZ3DIMHelper (or DazCentralHelp) items.

Your apps should finish now (well it worked for me). I then turned off the access once uploaded just to be extra paranoid ;)

  • I moved my content to a NAS and I broke the world.

    HimAnI said:

Ok. Uninstalled DAZ everything except my content directory. Re-installed DAZ 4.16.03 on my Mac running Monterey (I figured Big Sur wrecked my set-up, so why not update again?)
Also installed Daz Central, which freezes before I can even enter my password.
Installed new Install Manager and pointed the content path to my external NAS' My Library file. That stil shows I have 1,500 + things to install...
Then the DAZ program still has this PostgreSQL communication issue, so it;s unusable.
I'd like to start by getting the DAZ3D app working first, so solving this Postgre thing would be first.
I have deleted library files and aplication support files prior to re-install, but I have hit a roadblock.
Any other thoughts on how I can get back to making this work? Thanks - KK

I suggest creating a new CMS directory.  You can leave everything as it is and simply change the CMS directory path from DAZ Studio.  Do not log in to DAZ Central - do everything offline or DAZ Central will start working in the background and that is likely to create confusion.

Do not put the CMS on a NAS.  It might work, but databases uses special features of the file system and these are often not implemented by NAS servers, or by network file systems in general.  This link explains it for people who are familiar with NFS/Samba/etc, here's the executive summary:

Using a network file system is also possible, though care must be taken that the file system has full POSIX behavior (see Section 18.2.2.1).

Most NASs are more Windows compatible than UNIX compatible (even though most of them run a UNIX variant...)

You should be able to start DAZ (offline, do not log in) and change the CMS directory to a new directory on your root or home folder (i.e. not the network).  Make sure you can see the "Content Library" tab (preferably select it.)   Then try this; if you have a PostgreSQL installation issue you won't get to the end:

    1. Right click on the "Content Library" tab, select "Stop CMS...", chose "Fast".
    2. Right click again, select "Content Directory Manager..."
    3. You get the "Content Directory Manager" pop-up window.  Look on the right and find "CMS Cluster Directory", click on the [+] to the left of it and select the path name that appears.  Make a note of this directory.
    4. Right-click, select "Edit Base Directory...".  Now, in the browser window, find some place on in your home directory to create a new directory give it a reasonable name (e.g. "CMSTest".)
    5. Select the new directory (you will see that directory name listed as the selected folder), Click "Select Folder" and then "Accept" in the Content Directory Manager pop-up.
    6. Select the "Smart Content" tab and it should be empty (this is expected - you haven't got any of the metadata yet.)
    7. Right click on the "Content Library" tab itself and select "Content DB Maintenance".
    8. Check "Re-import Metadata..." in the pop-up and then select "Accept".
    9. You should see a massive list of all your products.  Since your products are installed on the NAS it might take a while.
    10. Uncheck all of the boxes; ALL of them (you can do this by unchecking the left-most boxes in the list to deselect all the children.)
    11. Check the first, and only the first, product in the "All products" list (i.e. don't check "All products", just the first one below it.)
    12. Check Accept.
    13. You should see another pop-up appear and disappear as the meta-data is added to the list.

You might see something in "Smart Content" if you get this far.  In any case you can repeat from step (9) and include more products - just don't include all of them because it will take far too long.

If you do get this far you have a working PostgreSQL and there is something wrong with the original directory, from step (3).  These directories can be copied around - you just have to update the "Cluster Directory" setting to the new location.  If your content is on a NAS you really want to copy a working CMS directory rather than recreate it from scratch, but if it has been damaged or was for a diffferent version of Postgre that may not work.  If you have to re-import all the metadata from content on a NAS you need to accept that it will take a day or two; you can guesstimate the time by trying a small number of products at a time.  Incidentally it isn't actually necessary to manually start/stop the CMS - Daz does that automatically if the cluster directory is changed, but I find it makes me feel safer ;-)
