and anyone else who is having the hang issues, please try the following:
1. Create a new/empty scene (with no "On Launch" or "On New" load file)
2. Load Genesis 8 Male Genitalia
3. Select none (so the next step doesn't attempt to fit-to)
4. Load Genesis 8 Basic Male
5. Fit Genesis 8 Male Genitalia to Genesis 8 Basic MaleSeparately...
Load Zale/Coral/Torment 8.1 (or something else with a GeoGraft that has its own skeleton/bones and is a non-genital figure).
Any hangs on either or both of the tests?
The hang occured when current (4.15.0.26) beta attempts to fit-to the attachment (figure first, attachment later or together, as scene asset). Loading this attachment without G8M selected work fine, as loading the attachment alone to the scene.
The way you described in those 5 points works - no lockup! Also, now, also normal figure-with-graft loading seems to work again!
The only thing that changed since last time (1.5 day back) is that I fixed that one morph I sent you here, in the previous post on this page. That might be the lead for you to fix it!
Thank you for not only testing this and finding this problem, but also sticking with us to try things to help us figure out what could be causing it.
I was pushing for the Studio team to release this version as the general-release, but thanks to testers like you that found this issue we managed to avoid breaking this for everyone. So far we have still not been able to reproduce this issue internally or among any of our internal beta test group, so thank you for continuing to work with us on trying to track this down.

How to get only modifiers of current selection?I'm trying to get the modifiers(morphs) of the current selected item (which is usually a cloth piece). Code looks like this:
var oNode=Scene.getPrimarySelection(); var oObj = oNode.getObject(); var nShapes = oObj.getNumShapes(); for (var j=0; j < nShapes; j++) { var oShape = oObj.getShape(j); var nMod= oObj.getNumModifiers(); for (var k=0; k < nMod; k++) { var oMod = oObj.getModifier( k ); //filter if(oMod.getTypeLabel()!="Morph") continue; if(oMod.getValueChannel().isHidden()) continue; if(oMod.getValueChannel().isNumeric()==false) continue; //.. //do something } }This works to get the modifiers. But when selecting a cloth item which is attached to a character the code returns as well morphs from the character. How can those be filtered to have only modifiers connected to the selected item?
fit to... function on a rigged figure asset causing mesh deformationThis hsa been absolutely driving me bananas, but thanks to an old video from one of the fine people at DAZ (search YT for "rigging heels in daz", its from 2015), I finally worked out how to do this.
The key aspect to note are the hidden parameter dials that get set when posing a base figure. These parameters will cause issues when you zero the joint rotations, and therefore have to be re-dialled in again during the transfer procedure. The second aspect is that you have to first zero back the base figure pose completely, and then re-zero the joint rotations, in order for the asset bones to load in symmetry to the base figure.
It's really not terribly straightforward, so I noted my step-by-step notes.
1. load g8 2. pose tip toes and toe spread 3. notate JCM75footdown values (49.07%) 4. bake joint rotations 5. reset JCM75 values from 0 to orig 6. export g8 for modeling 7. model shoes, import 8. transfer utility: source g8(current shape), obj target (default), else defaults 9. reset JCM75 on shoe to zero to make fit again 6. pose to zero base pose (negate tip toes and spreads) 7. symettrical weight paint smoothing on shoe bones 8. bake rotations on shoe 9. fit shoes to none, unparent 10. delete (not just disable!) g8 11. export shoe temp obj 12. edit>object>geometry>update base geometry (note the shift) 13. reset JCM75 from negative to zero on shoe 14. load g8 back, load setup pose
Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures part 3G8F not loading? If you have characters or morph packages from other sites put them in their own (by site) libraries that way you can disable the libraries to narrow down where a problem could be.
Eyes scale morphsNot sure this would help....but there is a morph for Genesis 8 Female by j.cade, which allows Sakura to use the default G8F eyes, but also allows the Simple Eyes, which is part of Eyeballs for Sakura 8 (that I sell on Rendo) to work much smoother. I am not sure the "magic" he did on that, but I wonder if you dial it in, if it would help? Its a few DSF files, so you could try it, dial it in, and if no help, then delete. It's about the 3rd freebie down on my site he approved me to host. (a shot in the dark
)Decimate for dForce?marble said:

Marble, I tried this Sincerity clothing and found no smoothing modifier distortion when decimating. It seems some clothing have such problem some don't. Decimating really help with saving the simulation time, at least 1/2 even 2/3.
I think your solution is really working!
The I need to try it the way you advised or figure out what else I was doing wrong. I will give it a try when I have some free time on my DAZ Studio PC. Do you know if it is possible to save a decimated version of the dress?
I'm afraid the decimated result could be only saved within the scene. No matter you save it as wearable preset or figure asset, when you apply it to a new character, decimated resolution will be gone. The only way is to export the decimated clothing as obj then import it to the scene, then use Transfer Utility to convert it as a Figure but all rigging option and dForce will be gone. You have to do them yourself. So I I think we have to use decimator each time when we need it in the scene...

Muscolo, mi sembra che nella pagina del tuo set di pose
A Friendly Mouse Poses for Genesis 8 Male | Daz 3D
ci sia una imprecisione, in quanto nelle Compatible Figures non viene citato lo Storybook Mouse, al quale sono invece dedicate.
Tutto ok nella descrizione del prodotto.
Prova a controllare.
In realtà mi pare giusto.

In fondo la figura è G8M mentre l'amichevole ratto è solo un morph.

Però questo mette ancora più in luce il pasticcio che è diventato lo store.

Is there any pose converter for Victoria 4 to genesis 8 female???
Check this Freebie https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/448391/v4-a4-pose-transfer-to-g8f#latest
Nice tools! Will try the result but it seems it's only for single pose conversion, it'll be great if there's a tool for batch conversion.

New! Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 14I just got loads of stuff, so today I am testing.
First up is Tori HD for Genesis 8 Female In the past, I have had trouble getting clothes to fit young characters like this. I was hoping that now that I had the Growing up product, the smoothing morph that comes with it would help clothes to fit other young characters like Tori. But the smoothing morph didn't help enough to make the first dress I loaded usable.
After some experimenting, however, I found that if you load Tori as a figure, dial out her body, and dial in breasts gone, her height and proportions remain the same and the dress fits better. Not every piece of clothing I tried on her was distorted, and some distortion was helped by dforce, but this dialing out her body and dialing in breasts gone method really helped at times. Her legs are skinnier and her hips are more narrow with the body morph, but that can be re-added by using other morphs.
Overall, her morph does not distort clothes as badly as some other young characters. She comes with mole, blush, eyeshadow, and freckles LIE options. Most of her makeup options are subtle, but I'm not sure if I'll actually use them. She also includes some nice specular and translucency options.
Comparison of the sincerity dress with the default body shape (left) and the body dialed out and breasts gone added (right)
fit to... function on a rigged figure asset causing mesh deformationI'm using Daz Stusio 4.12 on a Genesis 8 character.
I created some shoes in Blender, exported as OBJ, imported to DAZ (they align perfectly to the default pose) and went to work:
- opened bone editor, selected genesis 8 figure, then "bake joint rotations"
- PROBLEM 1: the shape of the figure changes a little bit - why would it do that? It's like some bones suddenly reset or something.
- transfer utility> set Source G8, destination shoes obj, unticked "fit to figure" and "parent to figure"
- opened bone editor; selected genesis 8, then crontrol+selected shoes, then edit>rigging>transgfer rigging (figure space)
- MAIN PROBLEM: now I select the shoe, and do "fit to..." and choose genesis figure. the mesh somewhat deforms into an ugly mess! What is happening?
I've messed around with the weight paint, tried various things like removed a bunch of useless bones for toes and metatarsals, since all I need is the foot, I then ried to set the entire mesh to 100% weight, but no matter what, it just stays deformed.
I'm so lost - what is causing these deformatinos and how do I avoid it? I would have thought that "fitting to" the source figure would simply hook the bones up to each other. But it looks like somehow there is errant weights going on.

Maxx HD is on sale and I wonder what he looks like without the Brute 8. Does the morph mix well with others like Vladimir8 or else?
Thank you.
For that price, the skin, hair, speedo, and thong alone are more than worth it.
But here he is out of the box and with 100% Vlad instead of The Brute. No HD.

Tutorial: Converting Textures from Gen2 to Gen3
Are you wanting similar shape morphs as the bases, or "explosion" morphs? Because for explosion, there is this for Genesis 1: https://sharecg.com/v/70652/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/Genesis-1-Single-UV-Maps-and-Utility-Paint-Morph . For G8, InTheFlesh has ITF Dev Kits for G8M and G8F https://www.sharecg.com/pf/full_uploads.php?pf_user_name=intheflesh&division_id=0&s=dd&pn=2necroscension said:j cade said:
First things first, you will need this http://www.sharecg.com/v/81631/view/21/DAZ-Studio/Texture-Conversion-Helper-morphs It will make Gen3's gen2 clone line up better with the original gen2. It also moves out the eyes and teeth so they don't interfere with the texture projection.Sorry to necro an old thread, but out of curiosity did you happen to create a similar morph for Genesis? The G2/G3 morphs have been unbelievably helpful for other uses besides texture conversion (like converting morphs from G2 to G3!).

Do you know please where can I find Evangeline Lilly? (AntMan and the Wasp)
The only two I know of are for Victoria 4. One was Ariana by Mihrelle at Rendo but all her products seem to have disappeared. The other is Catherine by araiah81 - Catherine morph (POSER) - Poser - ShareCG
Hopefully someone else will know of a more up to date one.
Isn't Alla supposed to be Evangeline Lilly ?
