Share Great Hairs For Filament

maybe they can share some renders too

Hi @WendyLuvsCatz, thanks for adding it! I can't recommend that hair as i don't own it, i only mentioned it because it has specific Filament versions, so it was created not only for iray but also for filament. But still I guess it therefore belongs into this thread.

intend adding more as I find them.
basically mesh hairs useable without cutout opacity.
That is great @WendyLuvsCatz! If it is ok for you, I will change the list, and put a link to your thread at the "Hair" part. Here is the link of the hair already mentioned in the list, so you can copy it to your thread and i will remove it from here. Thanks!

I think Filament is important for many users, therefore hope it is ok to start this thread.
Would be greatful if somebody could explain to me how to link to certain comments, which would help to make the list easier to use...
Thankyou!
If you in the comment hoover over the timestamp, you can get a link to that specific post.
Thankyou very much @felis, that will help!

It seems like it's only for viewport rendering? What's the point of that?
I've been using it as an alternative to OpenGL in the preview window when I need to work with objects intersecting with the floor. On my system it's actually faster than OpenGL.
I still prefer OpenGL for setting up my scenes but there are some things - such as the dark floor thing - which are easier to see in Filament. Otherwise I switch back to OpenGL predominantly.
Suggestion: Bring the Filament lighting in line with Iray lightingI had the same problem but once I started adding the Filament Draw Options, then things worked better. Another thing I did was look up suggested setting for Filament on YouTube and found one video that helped me get better at figuring it all out
AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?

It can be toned down without affecting iray by adding a Filament draw options node and reducing the environment parameter.
I agree the default is too bright.
youre a lifesaver, didnt even know there was this Filament Draw Options node.

I agree the default is too bright.
Suggestion: Bring the Filament lighting in line with Iray lightingWhen toggling between Iray Preview and Filament, Filament is always way too bright. It's like an order of magnitude too bright. Every time i switch between the two I need to reduce brightness of Filament render settings.
Daz should prioritise making Filament and Iray settings more consistent with eachother to allow them to be used together in workflows.
Filament is a very useful renderer because it runs more smoothly in the viewport than almost all the other draw settings (it's faster than texture shaded) but is hampered by this issue with the brightness settings being way too high, making workflows inefficient.
Also there should be a Filament-based 'Smooth Shaded' view. The shadow quality of Filament is much better than the current Smooth Shaded view.
Daz 4.20 crashing when loading any characterHaving multiple PostgreSQL processes is normal, if you do need to shut them down there is usually one that seems to eb the master and will then alow the others to close but I would not recomment doing so.
What Drawstyle is the Viewport using - if it's Iray or Filament try dropping it down to Texture Shaded.
Share Great Hairs For FilamentJust a thread to share hairs that work in Filament
with the unneeded opacity map removed this is a great hair for Filament renders
it's a smart prop so works on all figures

the only thing I can use if I can ever get my hands on one, is a card with 2 slots not 3, otherwise I might as well buy a whole new computer.
That will not be happening for a few years.
A few people here have had 2080Ti's they no longer needed I would have bought but alas the UPS is not shipping to Australia so no point even trying.
So at this point I needn't bother, I may try buying a better CPU though.
Wish DAZ would implement Filament better as that is what I am mostly using.
I'm willing to ship my 2080ti through the mail. I know selling stuff to Australia is a bit of a pain from the recievers' side. PM me if you're intersted.
I probably cannot justify the expenditure anyway but I know for a fact shipping stuff from the US is pretty dire at the moment so I am not even trying
I am sure there are plenty in your country that can contact you
thanks anyway
How do I get this render result? Are these rendered with Filament? If so, what are your results like with Iray?

Brightness Manager (Commercial)Preview modes - One is viewport, one is filament and one is iray..Script works in any mode.
"And, what happens if the texture turns all white?"
Iv'e never experienced this before. Load a scene, click iray, make sure skin is loaded correctly, then run the script to edit it.
