G3M G3F, Q and A. V7 welcome as well.
Wait, if that's the case, why would there be any cloth with V7's or Eva 7's name tagged on it? If All of V7's stuff work with G3F and G3F derivatives, then every thing just need to be tagged with G3F, right?
Say something like this, it says it require V7, but it's compatible with G3F, so technically having G3F is really the only requirement, isn't it?

Bethany 7From the description of http://www.daz3d.com/summer-kiss-for-genesis-3-female-s
Supported Shapes:
- Bethany 7
- Eva 7
- Victoria 7
So it seems we will get new names for this generation, not Olympia 7 and Gia 7
The most popular figures will get updated and released as Genesis 3 figures. The les popular ones will be phased out and replaced with things that we feel will be more appealing.
So then, by that peice of info alone, I'm prognosticating the following:- Stephanie 7 (Comes out every generation)
- Olympia 7 (Already explained that curvy sells with more characters of similar shape announced)
- Lilith 7 (Raved to be a "huge success" on the main page)
- Mei Lin 7 (Had a notable number of content post-release and has a 3D Print model)
- Aiko 7 (Second most popular character in DAZ 3D)
- Keiko 7 (Successful successor to Hitomi with a 3D Print model)
- Gianni 7 (Kept showing-up in sales and the "Top Sellers" list, Real World replacement of Freak)
- Lee 7 (Had a notable number of content long post-release and has a 3D Print model; Real World replacement of David and Hiro)
Michael 7 is left-out of the list for obvious reasons. I didn't even bother with Teens either as they seem to have become more accepted as evident in Gen 6.
Custom bones in figures?Hi there
I want to make renders in Daz Studio of superheroes with stretchy powers like Mr. Fantastic or Elastigirl and yet I have not found a (convenient) way to do this.
Now, I was able to do this successfully in Carrara, example one and two with Victoria 4 and a model rip of Elastigirl from the Playstation 2 game, by giving them custom rigging consisting of lots and lots of bones. It was fairly easy, minus the head morphs, of which I just made the body invisible in a T stance and meshed it with the stretchy body to compensate with V4.
Now, I could do the same double-model, one head another body thing by assembling in Carrara and exporting as OBJ to Studio, but as you can see in the V4 pic above, this is not perfect... or my animation sucks, whichever. :p
So, I did some googling before I came here, and I came across a rigging tutorial with a missing part one and instructions on how to rig a dragon. This is the one here. Due to part one needing a password for whatever reason, I did not follow. Plus the hierarchy explanation did not match my model (the Elastigirl game rip) and I got lost. I think that there were some naming and category situations that I was missing. Anyway, I went to look for another tutorial, and came across this one. It was a little hard to follow, but it led me to the same place. More googling, and I still got stuck, so that leads me here.
I ask of you now, what is the best and most convenient way to create, or modify for many extra bones, a custom rig for stretchy superhoes using V4? Or A3 as well, whoever?
I will be happy to provide clarification for what I want, or what my process was if needed.
Thanks!
Any Flexion/Muscularity for G3?I have a Victoria 7 HD who isn't remotely happy about her skinny arms. I'm really looking forward to this.
Cheers,
Alex.
LOL, agreed, I like both Simon's morphs, and DAZOriginals as well, as they have some outstanding artists as well.Yeah, considering the differing joint and muscle structure for G3/V7 it's gonna take a bit of time for Simon to morph and transfer/rig the char properly..I'm just glad it's being done!
Show Us Your Iray Renders. Part IVHow did you get the skin tone that color? Could you share the settings? Looks beautiful!
The skin texture is Victoria 7 but modified. Starting from the default iray settings, in the material tab you select all the skin, turn the translucency way up (.86 for this render) set the translucency color to generally a brighter red (h/s/v of 17/255/165 in that one I think) and the diffuse color to a very light cyan (164/16/239), but basically just fiddle around with those options until you find a tone you like. I also probably lowered the specular a tad, as it shows up more on the darker skin.
Eva 7 - just what we needed...REAL WORLD
- Mesomorphic Female/Male bases that all model and athletic idealist characters can be built off of (Ex: Victoria & Michael, Gia, Lilith).
- Ectomorphic Female/Male bases that all petite and slim everyday characters can encompass (Ex: Stephanie & David, Teens).
- Endomorphic Female/Male bases that all curvy and muscular hero characters can be supported by (Ex: Olympia & Gianni).
You do realize that William Sheldon has been so thoroughly discredited that using his somatotypes (mesomorphic, ectomorphic, endomorphic) as your criteria for "real world" totally destroys your credibility, right?
Still commonly used descripters however. Ignore Sheldon and look elsewhere. I wouldn't deride the poster for using commonly used terms. Maybe read the message without being so picky about the words chosen.
I second that
I was about to say, they're no more dis/credible than Myers-Briggs personality types or using temperamental adjectives. In fact, both a fitness trainer I know and my doctor uses bodytypes as references. Hell, I was even called "Choleric" once recently by a psychiatrist. ;)
Morphs for Victoria 7?The Genesis 3 Female Head and Body Morphs are separate products, Victoria 7 doesn't have her own set of basic shaping morphs.
Morphs for Victoria 7?I've recently bought the Victoria 7 Pro package, and I am rather lost. Where do I get morphs for the figure, and how do I use them? I skipped genesis and used V4 exclusively until now. The Genesis 3 morphs I bought do not show up in my library.
Any Flexion/Muscularity for G3?I have a Victoria 7 HD who isn't remotely happy about her skinny arms. I'm really looking forward to this.
Cheers,
Alex.
Bored about Bikinis, lingerie and underwear for female charactersEven better, they now have a thread a bunch of us are watching to post in. So if they made say a business suit or something, they could post right here and say 'Hey guys here is a new business suit, see if you like it,' and I bet it would work better than a typical ad, because they know they have a target audience right here.
You mean like this business suit for G3F - http://www.daz3d.com/business-suit-for-genesis-3-female-s and addon textures - http://www.daz3d.com/business-suit-textures
PAs who advertise in the forums tend to make their own threads. Having ONE thread with a ton of different products advertised PLUS complaints about other ones is rather counter productive. Also, DAZ Marketing is responsable to make the newsletters advertising new releases. So if anyone wants to keep up wiht what is new, get the newsletter. Compared to a forum thread it will be seen by most of the customers.
And a final note, Genesis 3 Female has ONLY BEEN OUT FOR A MONTH!!!!! Give the PAs time to make stuff. All new Victoria releases tend to be the same, sexy stuff and dresses right off the bat. Its sells and people buy it. PAs will make what sells. While not all clothing items are realistic it is a proven fact that fantasy sets sell a lot higher then normal clothing does. If you need something else, use a G2F outfit since they autofit well or the OptiText dynamic cloth.

I love your work. Of the several bajillion character sets I own Isolde is by far my absolute favorite one. The sheer amount of options you gave us with her make her so very versatile.Oh, thanks!!
Yeah, I've always been really fond of Izzy... :DOut of curiosity, since I'm looking at Isolde, do you actually need to have the Victoria 4.2 Creature Creator Morphs package to use her as a base figure, no fangs or long, pointy nails or anything like that? I sometimes see things listed in the required field that aren't actually needed for regular use, only if you want to do the things shown in some promo pictures.
If it's not needed, then she's in the cart today as she's on sale!!
gypsyangel Toni promo outfit texture questionI love cut offs and jean textures. Anyone got any leads on what texture and clothing thi

Edited to fix the spelling that was "helped" by medication and brain cancer.

Bored about Bikinis, lingerie and underwear for female charactersI'm going to chime in a bit here.
First of all, I recognize that the content creators are going where the sales are. That so much of the clothing is skimp-wear is a commentary more on our buying habits than on the creator's crafting habits.
However, that said, I think this thread is plenty of proof that there is a solid market for non-skmp clothing.
For example, I pretty much cannot use skimpwear at all in my project, which is a webcomic using DAZ for the artwork. It's a superhero comic, and no, I do not want my main character to look like Starfire or Red Sonja. There's some great stuff I already have, like her school uniform and some other nice things. But there is less variety available for 'normal clothes' than I would like. I have looked around on Rendo but in my experience it is as bad if not worse in terms of skmip-wear.
So... given this and a couple of other threads, of quite a large number of people saying we would like more normal clothing for our characters, hopefully a few intrepid PAs will take the ball and run with it and give us more variety, seeing that there is a small but enthusiastic market for it.
If you want a wide variety of clothing for any character not named Victoria 4, you will need to learn how to get it on the figure, and you will need to shop at many more storefronts. I have a 50Gb runtime of female clothing and a 25Gb or so of male clothing - and all of it goes on any figure I have purchased over the past decade and very little of it has gone on V4 or M4.
As far as a few intrepid PAs, don't hold your breath - they are very, very risk adverse, and for good reason. How would you like to spend a month working on a male clothing outfit and only sell 10 - 20 copies. That has happened too often in the past. Good luck in getting any vendor to think that things have changed - and they haven't, especially since the Poser/DS schism.
My point is that this thread (and there are one or two other threads with similar statements) demonstrates that there is an audience for non-skimp clothing. Many of us (I did not counted but quite a few) have said we want such things and would buy them. The PAs are therefore not taking a shot in the dark, not knowing if non-skimp stuff will sell at all. We've got people here who've said they are dying for more clothing of the 'normal' variety. I don't make content for the shop, but if I did, I would see this thread and at least try to experiment with normal clothing a little bit and see what happens.
Even better, they now have a thread a bunch of us are watching to post in. So if they made say a business suit or something, they could post right here and say 'Hey guys here is a new business suit, see if you like it,' and I bet it would work better than a typical ad, because they know they have a target audience right here.
As you say, I'm not going to hold my breath, but I can still hope (and breathe).
Using Michael 3 or Victoria 3 in Poser Pro 2014?Michael 3 and Victoria 3 are in Poser format. The figures should be in the DAZ People folder in the Figures library. Can you see the figures in the library at all?
Using Michael 3 or Victoria 3 in Poser Pro 2014?I have just come back to Poser for a few projects but I havent needed to use it since 2007 with Poser 7.
I have purchased a few new products and with both Daz objects and the PoserCF objects it works fine.
My issue is that I own a lot of content from 2007, and especially Michael 3 and Victoria 3 content. This content does not have any PoserCF option, but even if I install the runtime content to both Daz and Poser directories, I cannot seem to load Michael 3, Victoria 3 or find their Hi Res texture maps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Eva 7 - just what we needed...To be fair in that render she has lipstick on. although generally yes, the palms aren't quite as light and the lips arent quite as dark as they probably should be.
I can't claim credit for the skin idea, it was someone in the V7 thread.
But, starting from the default iray settings, in the material tab you select all the skin, turn the translucency way up (.86 for this render) set the translucency color to generally a brighter red (h/s/v of 17/255/165 in that one I think) and the diffuse color to a very light cyan (164/16/239), but basically just fiddle around with those options until you find a tone you like. As for the lighting, Paiter's Lights obviously (I really need to set up a banner in my sig)
And yes, the hair is the fantastic Omri Hair.
Yep, now that you mentioned the translucency value, it is explained why the new girls (Victoria 7 and Eva 7) render so tanned out of the box. The Materials presets for both have a way high translucency value, between 0.5 and 0.6. These are to much for a Caucasian character. When rendering Victoria 7 against Victoria 6 (Anna textures), Vic 7 seems a little bit unreal. Eva could be the Girl from Ipanema or something like that, but still would need a more reddish tone to be real.
I was just finishing a render with my adjustments to the skin tone and used lower values for translucency when reading your post. Possibly I am in the right path, but I would like some feedback about. First image is Vic 6 with my skin preset and Vic 7 out of the box preset. Second image with Vic 7 and Eva 7 adjusted presets. Any sugestions? Thanks in advance.
I don't think there's actually anything wrong with the skins themselves, but the light does seem a little harsh. What's the color temperature?
