  • Iconic Character Triangles
I believe the original Stephanie was not a variation on Victoria 2 but actually Michael 2, though I could be mistaken.

Nope, I believe you're correct... and the original Aiko and Maiko were morphs of Stephanie.

  • Iconic Character Triangles

I gues it's kind of pointless now seeing as how DAZ isn't even going to support half the figure line anymore...

the figure line is very fluid now. But yeah I hear ya. Even characters that get good launch support don't get anything after that(cept vickie).

Yeah, and that's been the case since we started getting new Icons every month because. By the time a PA would make a character or item optimized for a specific base that's not Victoria or Michael, it wouldn't make much sense; DAZ, Pro content-commissioned PA's and the customer base haved long since moved-on from that character base...

  • criticism on pose sets

think a few of mine sometimes have had matching expressions to some poses not sure wich though as when I select poses I look in the all files options but usually when they are they fit with the pose. ironman13 though she does a lot of great poses and a lot of her stuff not only do you have a full pose option you also have mix match options with seperate poses for upper lower parts of the body, seperate arm poses left and right same with the legs, even has a lot of mix match expression poses where you can select diferent eye, mouth and other facial expression combos like tongue don't think she's done a nose one yet yet anyway but she may

she's released a new v7 expression set today too i13 100 Essential Expressions for Victoria 7

wonder if she sits in front of the mirror to get these ideas she comes up with a lot of interesting ones

  • Add a glittery or sparkly effect to skin texture?

It's for an alien I'm working on. I've got the glittering shaders already, but I'm not wanting to "replace" the figure's skin with a shader, I'd like to keep the current skin (Victoria 6 HD) but just add the glittering shader on top of it. Is that even possible? I know that Daz has a "shader mixer" but I've played around with it and I just cannot make sense of it.

  • Streets of London horse-drawn period vehicles would make for a fantastic add-on series

Stonemason's splendid Streets of London looks so empty.

Some reaonably detailed period vehicles, like Hansom cabs & Coach-and-Fours, would add to the realism tremendously. Various harnesses for the horses... We already have the horses, but few if any reasonable 'period' harnesses.

Think of Masterpiece Theater's Sherlock Holmes series. The London street scenes are come to life with all those horse-drawn cabs, milk trucks, coaches, & mercantile 'waggons.'

There are early mechanical vehicles, too, but whenever Holmes & Watson head to Victoria Station, they hail a horse-drawn cab!

High poly for foreground, lo poly for background fills ?

It's enough to make me want to take up modeling.

  • Does G2F have Some Genesis in her?

I believe the Victoria 4 included with GenX2 is used by the plug-in as a type of projection template and is not meant to used as a normal morph, much like the hidden clone shapes used by Auto-Fit.

Let me know if it's too much "bounce"

Still a work in progress transfering the Skamotion high heel walk onto Gen 3/Vic 7. This is taking a really long time to get working because of the new rig. Not an easy trasfer by any means. I'm still not sure if I can finish it to the level I want because of the limitations of the software now, no poser version. This might not release, but I thought I'd show where I'm at.

  • Rev up discount

Okay, no answers seem forthcoming and the math just isn't adding up. Emptying my cart and waiting to see what happens...

Text of the sale says: 40% OFF New Featured - Additional 10% off for every Rev-up you have -

That means that each item should be 80% off.

Hongyu's Bikini 2 for Victoria 7 is list price $14.95.

80% off should make it $2.99.

Instead it is coming up as $5.39, which is a pretty significant difference.

The only way the math works is if it is 40% off the list price, then 40% off of that. But "40% discount applied in addition to the base 40% discount" implies that it should be working differently.

...on the "Buy 1, Buy 2, Buy 3" sales at least the discount was done in simple steps like  40%, 50% and 60% respectively and during MM also worked on "featured" stores as well, no crazy math to deal with.

The Rev Ups work on featured stores as well.

  • Selbsthilfegruppe DAZ Studio - Beispiele, Fragen, Diskussion und sonstiges Gequatsche

Was haltet ihr vom neuen PA-Sale?

  • Can DIM be repointed to a new drive? (TECH question)

    Please read the question carefully.

I moved my libraries to a new hard drive.

I changed the content library locations in Daz Studio, I changed the path in DIM..everything works like it's supposed to....

EXCEPT...If I try to remove a pacakge in DIM I get an error: Folder(s) for 1 product(s) is(are) nonexistent. Are you sure you want to continue?

Which I realized that even though DIM is pointing to the new location for installations, and the "DIM shortcut" name is changed, DIM itself thinks the software is still on the old dirve location.

SO, is there a way to tell DIM "Hey, I've moved everything..here's the new path?"

There doesn't seem to be anything in the program itself...but perhaps the file(s) it stores what it knows can be changed?

I looked at the DIM log, and this seems to be the best clue so far:

    Uninstalling product : Victoria 6

WARNING: Could not set permissions on file: /Volumes/PoserDrive/Active/Active Library/My DAZ 3D Library/InstallManagerFileRegister.json
Product successfully uninstalled : Victoria 6

  • August Freebie Challenge ## PICNICS ##

Whew!  I didn't think I would be able to finish but here I am... just before the deadline yet again! blush  Honestly, I can't remember very many times I entered a render before the last week of the month!  Well, this project actually began as a goofy little sketch that fit the theme, so I decided to go out there and find the parts to make it a render!  Enjoy!  laugh

    Title: "Some unexpected guests"

    I love this , Skywalker.

    Good work, Skywalker :)

Another one squeaking in under the wire.

    Title: "Poisoned Strawberries"

Paid items: MyPrincess Dress, V4 Morphs++ (used both for face and for facial expressions), M4 Morphs ++

Neutral items: M4, V4, Stephanie 4 (a requirement of the V4 dialspun morph I used), Hiro 4 (the character poses are modified versions of poses that come packaged with the Victoria 4 and Hiro 4 figures)

Oh my, a picnic with a dark twist. smiley

    I like it anyway.

    Rainy Day Picnic

    How romantic! Very nice, Chelle.

  • AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE UNDICI

  • NEW! Novica & Invited Guest Contributors Tips & Product Reviews Pt 6

So, I took today to experiment with Topaz ReMask- and WOW. Playtime has never been so much fun or rewarding. This product makes masking fun, and you will love putting your masked items into your Daz scenes. I picked a hard one to start with, deliberately, as I am a 2d artist and am fortunate to be able to draw. So,  I wanted to work with dainty hair strands, the epitome of a masking challenge.

One thing about ReMask, you can use the blue color for the program to compute what to keep and what to remove. I did NOT use that. I did it with green (keep) and red (go) (I know the opposite of a stop light.)  I did screen shots for you. First, I took an old render of Cara in Road to Drengallen , which was from one of my previous threads. Here's the end results. (I'll show the steps in the next posts.)  The lines around the figure are pretty crisp- some of that is my lack of practice and so they're a bit rough. For my first try though, I am happy. Awesome!
