List of all Daz Original figures G1-G3Hitomi was made by the artists who has made all the daz figures since Generation 4. A seasoned pro. So that is why she fits in.
Regarding the figures for Genesis. Hitomi, Skyler and even Micheal and Victoria are NOT figures. The only actual figures are Genesis, Genesis 2 Female, Genesis 2 Male, Genesis 3 Female (and one day Genesis 3 Male).
The others are SHAPES with corrective morphs and UV maps that are special to them. They are not figures. They are Morphs, They are Characters. But they use Genesis Figures as a platform.
So what you are asking is what characters do people like. I say it's genesis and I mix stuff up cause the stock figures are way to identifable when left stock.
Oh and there were 3 more Daz original genesis monsters. At least 3 more.
Ah! Thank you for that clarification. I've only had Daz for a month now so I'm still trying to recognize the terms. I wondered about the benefit of having a bunch of characters versus getting the morph packs for the Genesis figures (which I did opt for). I personally have found it suits my need to customize a particular face/body. Thank you again, larsmidnatt!

Realistic Renders.... NOT! 14: A new frontier.....romofrog at RDNA forums has already posted Reality 4.1 render of Victoria 7. He wrote:

Iradium not working with Advanced Ambient Light?Even since I upgraded to Iradium, I've noticed that my render times have gone through the roof using Advanced Ambient Lights. In the past, if I dropped Victoria 6 into a scene and added Advanced Ambient Lights, it would render in minutes. Now, it takes hours, if it even finishes. Case in point, I dropped V6 into a blank scene, added Advanced Ambient Lights, dropped occlusion down to 75% and max error to .1 and hit render. After a little over 3 hours, it was stuck at 78%. I cancelled the render.
Since I'm on a 2013 Mac Pro with dual AMD cards, I can't use Iray. I have all my settings exactly the way they have been for years using 3Delight. The only thing that has changed is updating to Iradium. I just did a pretty involved scene uisng The Enchanted Forest and I stuck with the default lights that came with the set, not Advanced Ambient Lights, and it seemed to render in a little under 3 hours. This seems about right considering the image is 2560x1440 and contains a ton of assets.
Is anyone else having a problem with Advanced Ambient Lights and the new version of DS? I’ve had to basically stop using it with this version of DS because it seems to just not work. Which is a shame, because I love the way my renders came out with it.
Autfit for G2?The supplied Autofit clones only work for the previous version, so G2 can autofit Genesis clothing out of the box.
If you want to use V4 directly on G2F, then you need this : http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female
It can be done it two stages, Autofit to Genesis, save that, then autofit to G2F
If I do it in two stages, what would I save the autofitted to Genesis clothes as?

Does "Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female" work in Poser?I see that it comes with the DSON Importer for Poser, but the description mentions Autofit, which I thought was a Daz tool. I'm hoping V4 for G2F simply gives me a new figure that I can use directly in Poser, but obviously, I've got a lot to learn about how these things work.

How to Converting Genesis 1 and 2 Content for use with Generation 4?Cloth:
1) Clone (I believe it do)
2) XDresser 4 + Victoria 4 license converts from genesis 1 to V4. You need save the genesis cloth to cr2 previously. For genesis 2, you need convert to genesis 2 cloth to genesis 1, then to V4. There is a product clone of G2 for G1, that is you need to convert from G2 to G1.
Hair: Parent
Textures: Nope, but is not impossible. Probably something like the blender method for G2F to G3F.
Poses: Pose Master in Rendo
Morph: ????
It's supposed that a genesis clone for dawn can be created, also a clone for two animals too. Tutorial for millennium horse and DAZ horse 2 is in this forum.
Introduce Yourself, Hello, my name is.....HI. My name is James, a.k.a. jaxprog. J is for James and the ax is the first two letters of my last name. Prog is for programmer. I started the name thinking I would use it predominately during my IT career but using the name never materialized in my career and it evolved into a general use email address over the years. So here we are now and jaxprog is in the spotlight of my art and Daz Studio endeavors. I have a gallery here on Daz3D and one on Renderosity using the same name jaxprog. Eventually I would like open a third on Deviant Art.
I got started on Daz Studio in June of 2013 just shortly after Victoria 6 was released on the Daz Store. I started doing artwork with pencil drawing the human figure and I practiced every day for at least 2 to 4 hours for about a year and half. Currently I still practice but not with the commitment that I once started with. I started getting into 3D rendering when I realized I could use it as means to enhance my pencil drawing. I could set up my own scene and poses and then draw, however I started spending more time rendering 3D Art than pencil drawing. I have since expanded my art tools to Poser 2014 pro, Photoshop, Hexagon and zBrush. My sketchbooks have evolved from human figure drawings to concept art for zBrush projects. I have future aspirations to eventually become a PA but I need to get motivated and just do it.
My favorite PA’s in the Daz Store and on Renderosity are: Thorne, Ironman13, Emma n Jordi, Lyoness, Fred Winkler, Aeon Soul, SWAM, DraagonStorm, Sickleyield, Danie & Marforno (aka DM), Jepe, Bez, Blondie9999, Deviney, Darkworld, Designfera, DzFire, Dimension Theory, Dimension3D, Flipmode, SVEVA, Forbidden Whispers, Fabiana, Gypsy Angel, Hameleon, Maddelirium, Out of Touch (or OOT), P3Design, Rebel Mommy, Sabby, Seven, Shox Design, Silver, Twizted Metal, Virtual World, Zeddicuss, Zev0 and 3D-Age.

You should know that you are my hero, jaxprog, as I see you commenting on so many renders in the gallery, which is really upliftig when there are so many renders getting more votes while some go by rather unnoticed while they are pretty good. So big THANK YOU for that! Otherwise welcome to the Dazforums :)

I've been looking at this; anyone have who can offer an opinion?
I have Beautiful Skin and thinking they might be similar; I like that there is conformity across generations though.

Broken Ball Joint Skin for GenesisI'll try to return my gen morphs for the victoria 5 morphs... the price isn't a huge difference. Thanks for your help!
Broken Ball Joint Skin for GenesisSo basically if I want the skin material to work, I have to buy Victoria 5? That's dissapointing since that wasn't listed in the sales page. I know I can ask for my money back, but it still kind of darkens my day. Oh well.
Broken Ball Joint Skin for GenesisHello lovely Daz community! While I'm not the most novice of users, I am a "learn-by-doing" person, and I've never come across this problem before.
I recently bought the Ball Joint Doll by Sickleyyield and Fuseling (SKU:17396). When I go to apply the skin to genesis, I get a missing file error asking for Victoria 5 uv maps, which I don't own. The product page for Ball Joint Doll doesn't mention Victoria 5, so I uninstalled and reinstalled all my genesis starter essentials with new packages, hoping there might be some update that fixes the issue. I've also tried to apply make up or eye colors first, as that semed to fix another issue with the eyebrows (I read this in the forums). But that didn't work. The result is a choppy application of the skin. Otherwise the product looks great, and I'm truly looking forward to using it, so I hope someone has a suggestion.
Is this because I'm using 4.8 pro?(I've read the product works fine in 4.6) Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the proper result? (Preferably without rolling back my software edition). Thanks in advance!

Jepe's Project M4 body and facial HairAnybody know how to use this. I think there used to be some instructions. But I can't find them. It doesn't appear that the instructions come with the product anymore. My machine is new and my library is all new...installed by DIM. I checked in the DIM for all the installed files and no readme or pdf was listed. But I think there used to be some instructions from when I originally bought the product and installed it myself.
If I remember correctly, I think you had to add a second M4 and apply the material poses to the second figure. When you apply the pose, it makes transparent so just the hair shows. I think it worked something like that.
Technology has changed a lot since the product release. How to best use it depends on, in which application you want to use it. In Poser not so much has changed and a second M4 still works fine.
In DAZ Studio we have the Geometry Shell now and you don't need a second figure for the body hair. Any figure can get a Geometry Shell in DAZ Studio, but to use it on G2M you need "M4 for G2M" by Slosh for the M4 UV Layout (http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male). Also G2M only takes .duf files, so you have to convert all MAT poses to .duf manually or use the script provided by Draagonstorm (http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-skins-auto-converter-for-genesis-2-male-s).
Same technique works for all the Body Jewels also, here's my most recent image using Body Jewels 3 for V4 on G2F Victoria 6 with Geometry Shell: http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/86809/
Carrara 8.5 & Genesis 3 - Victoria 7?Howdy Folks,
Could someone who has sucesfully exported Victoria 7 as either COLLADA or FBX and got it to work correctly, share thier settings? Everytime I export as COLLADA, the mesh does not follow the bones, and is useless. The FBX export just plain doesn't work for me. Thanks!
Rich S.
SereneNight's Sci-fi FunLOL, I know you quite well, so I know I can poke fun at you because you have a great sense of humor. The first thing I thought was you created a Victoria monkey. That middle one has a tail!
Love the colors and the lighting as usual.
