Leisa 8Leisa 8
I like Leisa 8 very much, but it is not really good time for purchases of anything else, than the sale items, so no bundle for me this time.
Rare ocassion to see her tongue, though...
Leisa 8Has anyone rendered Gabi without Leisa yet?
Here you go. I added one with 100% Leisa for comparison, and also one with 0% Leisa but 100% Victoria for good measure.
Leisa- What hair is this? ThanksCould you tell me what hair is this? Thanks
Leisa 8I was thinking that Leisa was one of the more credible mature characters, and Allesandra kept that theme going (Gabi is a bit too WTF for me) useful for a CEO, scientist, librarian, etc. but then I saw one little item that just blew everything for me.
Height: 6' 0" (182.8 cm)
Seriously? That's 99.92 percentile. Less than 1 in 1000. That won't look realistic in a car, at a desk, going through a doorway, etc. Kitchen counters are at the wrong height for her. ( 50% for the US is 5'3.6"). Oh, and the standard weight for a 6' woman is 188 pounds.
Teen Josie 8 is 5'5", which is 75th percentile for adult women. Teen Raven 8 is 5'6". Fortunately, it appears that all the DAZ teens are 18-19, so they've basically stopped growing.
DAZ heights are out of control. Next generation won't even fit in cars, will bump their heads in doorways, I'm picturing Victoria 9 coming in at 6'4". What do we use these characters for, aside from the obvious NVITWS?
Better nutrition?
Hormones in meat?
Domnatrixes for wimply little Michael 9?
Leisa 8I don't really get all the talk of Leisa being a "mature" character. She doesn't look any older than the majority of other female characters to me. Hell, I don't think she even looks older than some of the characters who were explicitly marketed as teens.
well yeh, a couple looked in their 30s.

Leisa 8Regarding Leisa's height, Brooke Shields is six feet tall as are most super models. They can still fit through doorways and sit at desks. This isn't really unusual. And men who are six feet tall don't have problems using everyday things. She may be taller than most women, but there are a lot of women who are six feet tall and even taller.
I can confirm that as a 190cm tall woman I have no problem fitting through doorways and sitting at desks. It would be nice if women's clothing manufacturers caught up to the fact that most taller women aren't supermodels, though...

Leisa 8I really like Leisa, but I seem to be in a minority. She looks far less waxy to me than the last few characters.
That's interesting because except for a few of the HD add-ons I thought she looked less photo-realistic than many previous figures. This is one of the reasons I'll sometimes hold back until I see what the Daz community will render with her. Often times a very good figure is done a disservice by promo art that did not capture it as well as it could have.
Leisa 8I really like Alessi https://www.daz3d.com/alessi-for-leisa-8, especially her makeup and tattoos
Alessi, with those artificial rosebud lips sharp chin & turned up eye corner makeup, reminds me the hordes of V3 or V4 images we used to see at Renderosity during the early to mid 2000's. All wore identikit rosebud lips, sharp chin and turned up corners to their eyes. Feels very retro to me, and not in a good way. Not very keen on the Alessi character myself.
Gabi & Leighton are rather nice, but to get them you need a rather 'meh' base character. I felt Bidget was 'meh' too and haven't used her since, but 'Ellis for Bridget' was definitely much more of a must-buy than Gabi & Leighton, which is why I got 'Bridget', and why I won't be getting Leisa.
Regards,
Richard
Leisa 8I think Leisa 8 is gorgeous. I noticed her skin tone was shifted from the usual tone they use for white women (I might be wrong but I'm not going to go back and compare them all) from the usual DAZ Originals Pro Bundle anchor character and it looks really good. It's nice to see a bit of variety in more mundane things like a subtle shift in skin tone. The quality is such now that DAZ 3D needs to be nit picking in an effective cumulative way to bring up improvements now.
And those that did the ad copy renders for the Leisa 8 character did an outstanding job, I like every one of them.
Biggest qualms is some of that hair is starting to look comically fake and the glossier lipsticks and eye shadows and such makeup has an eerie effect where it seems to be floating above the character's skin by some margin.
Conversely I think Gabi 8 is like the drab typical DAZ Originals pro bundle lead of the past.
Leisa 8Leisa makes me immediately think she's related to Ellithia for some reason.
Not sure at this stage if i'll be buying or not. Still thinking about it.
I have no issues with taller female characters generally.
The only thing with core taller figure females i've found is that all of them are too similar in height around the 180-184cm mark.
I'd like to either see a taller core female (190cm+) or a more muscular core female for more variety.Report sales errors here. "There's Always Another Sale™"It is stating that the catch-up items are 2.99 on the main sale page (2.50 if bought with the Leisha Pro Bundle). However on the sales page and in the cart they are showing as $5.00.
Is this a pricing error, or an error on the main page, that should say 5.00, not 2.99?
The same thing happened yesterday, and the correction was to remove the $2.99 price from the sales page adcopy. I'd be really surprised if they were $5.00 yesterday and $2.99 today.
We may have missed that it was in the text at the top of the page as the carousel shows the correct info: They're 2.49 with purchase of Leisa Pro Bundle...5.00 without purchase.

Oh yes. That is a great character.I really like Alessi https://www.daz3d.com/alessi-for-leisa-8, especially her makeup and tattoos

Hmmm, she seems to me to be a woman in her late 30s to me. I haven't "carded" her, so I can't be sure. I have worked in a number of clubs and would probably not look too closely at her ID. She doesn't look like a teen to me. Personally, I wish she was a tad older (late 40s or early 50s.I don't really get all the talk of Leisa being a "mature" character. Leisa 8Going by one of the promo images, she reminds me of Loretta Swit. Change the lipstick and put an appropriate hairdo on her ;-)
Yup. Thank you.
I like Alessandra by Emry but I'm partial to Emry.
I'm so glad Emry has started modeling different head morphs for their characters, well, at least the females.
