A Bridge is a cross-platform port that converts 3D Assets — in this case, amazing Daz characters — and brings them to another software, complete with rigging, textures, and other Studio modifications.

Genesis 8 & 3 Characters can be transferred with the Blender Bridge. Their Textures, Clothing and Hair will also transfer (unless the hair is strand-based).

The Daz to Blender Bridge works with Blender versions 2.80 to 2.83. Supported render engines are Eevee & Cycles. Use the HD Version of the script, as that’s compatible with Blender 2.80 and above. We’re currently working on a version to be compatible with Blenders 2.79 and below.

    • Only Daz Characters/clothes/hair work with the Blender Bridge; environments and props will not successfully transfer.
Poses will not successfully transfer to Blender.
•Strand-based Hair will not successfully transfer to Blender. •Michael and Victoria 4 Content and Genesis 1 Characters are not able to transfer to Blender using the bridge. Some Genesis 2 Characters may transfer, but success of transfer (including rigging, textures, etc.) will vary by item.

The bridge isn’t the only way you can use Daz Characters in Blender — your other option is to purchase Daz Characters that have the Blender file format, download the manual files and upload them directly into Blender. You can also export certain content out of Studio as .obj or .fbx files for use in third party software.

Poses should be added in Blender. For Textures, it’s up to you and your preference. You add textures in Studio before transfer, or continue to texture your character in Blender after the transfer.

This is a one-way transfer from Daz to Blender. So once you transfer your content from Studio to Blender, you can’t transfer it back; you can, however, make changes to content in Daz Studio before you transfer, and can always readjust in Studio and transfer again.

Daz products have to be transferred using the Blender Bridge. Once in Blender, you can combine any assets you already have with your Daz products.

In Daz Central you can see all compatible assets for this bridge, you are also able to use the software filter in the store to see all available assets for the Daz to Blender bridge.
