  • Christmas Time Freebies - 2025 Edition

So I did one of those freebies posts last year and as a tradition, I'm making one this year as well. Alas, I had memory problems with the PC this time around(too many open tabs and such) and trying to solve this problem, so I got to actually posting these later, sorry about that, but for the record, I just got to getting the Renderosity ones 2 days ago and just discovered DAZ's this year's ones.

    >>>>>>> First off, not a Link, but you can get 1 free year lisence of Photoshop Online from Chrome Web store(offer good till December 8th).

Anyway here's the list for this year minus Fantasy Attic's-post already made(includes pages that give up randomly stuff, so you might get something good and relatable or not, but hey, these are freebies right?)

    3D Shard's Advent Calendar 2025

    Advent Calendar 2025 - CHIP(German)

The Big Software Advent Calendar 2025  (Snapfrog and Digital Photo)

    Heise Advent Calendar 2025

Turbosquid Christmas Models  (New addition to the list)

RenderHub Free 3d Models (Like I said last year, they always have free 3d models)

Active Rendering Advent Calendar (Requires Registration)

PC Welt Advent Calendar 2025 (Might not work well under certain extensions like ad or other blockers)

Rosi Weber's various older goodies (for those that haven't gotten them and could be interested. I got some of those links from Germans and I'm not one, so I usually translate to browse through)

That's all I have in my links area. Feel free to add any others if you know of any!

Enjoy and have a  Happy/Cosy/Snowy(If you have, direct some to my city, right? We hardly ever got any in the recent past years)/Christmassy December and Holidays time!!!25

  • Is your wishlist ready for Christmas?

In my case, too, all the items, free or paid, came from my wishlist (thanks to suggestions from this forum, I think) and were fairly recent, which is great! Sometimes it's really difficult to choose, because I'd like both items. So far, I've managed to spend no more than $2 or $3, but my credit is dwindling dramatically, and I don't know if I'll be able to keep going much longer.
I have a question: if I buy something using the $6 coupon on an item that costs a little more, for example, if I buy an item that costs $6.50 and use the $6 coupon, thus spending 50 cents, does that purchase count? Is it considered $6.50, and therefore valid, or $0.50, and therefore invalid?

  • DAZ !! EDIT is your friend

I haven't cleared my brower's cache history, so may I'm still catching the old image. I checked the Daz3D home page for good measure and I can confirm that the mis-spell has been corrected there.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I had to take that screeshot because it reminded me of a woman waking to the fresh, envigorating aroma of coffee. It's a new day. Oh joy! Shake off the lethargy with a swig of coffee microblend. Ahhh.

As our friendly neighorhood AI would have it ...

coffee microblend typically refers to a finely ground, often freeze-dried coffee mixed with real coffee, designed for quick, robust flavor in seconds, offering a strong taste closer to fresh-brewed coffee than regular instant ... Micro" also relates to micro-roasting, small-batch roasting for superior flavor, but in blends, it usually means microground – a fusion of instant coffee and finely ground beans

    Cheers! laugh

  • Issue with "Wearable Lights and Cameras for Genesis 9" - Point Lights visible in render

Moved to Technical Help as it is not  Daz Studio application topic. Edited to have the link go directly to the product page isntead of a Google search.

I don't have the product, if they are actual light nodes make sure that Render Emitter, in their Parameters, is off.

  • 3D Models of Historic Sites?

Okay I did a quick search of my promos (PAs A - F) of possible historical sites but folks from these countries would need to comment if their country would actually consider them accurate, if they exist today, or historic or even have a program that lables them in such a manner.

What is historical is subjective. It might be due to an act, birthplace, age, the architechture, the period, who lived there, or events that occured. For societies that have millenia of history they might think Americans who think historical sites that are branded because they are from the 1900s is rediculous. As I said, it is subjective.

the 3 freebies were nice today after not even wasting time on buying the useless Advent texture yesterday

waiting for 9am tomorrow Adelaide time to check my bank account and being sure all deductions have processed and what is still waiting from DAZ in PayPal

    yes it's that bad cheeky

as I might buy a still new instead namely Cladyarch's latest village Red Roof Hamlet, it's 51% off with my 3 nonmember punches

    but

    I also want groceries

I'm pacing myself too. I assume that I might not buy much on top of maintaining punches, but maintaning them is worth it for the calendar and nice list and on an off chance that there's going to be something later I want (especially that it's a new month, so I also have 2 Daz coupons to burn).

Not one item on the advent calendar is an item I would buy, much less put on my wish list. I guess my issue is I buy what I like and ignore the rest.

You are commenting on a forum that literally explains how to set up your wishlist so you only get stuff you care about. If you haven't followed the advice it gives and only have 20 Daz Originals on your WL, then I'm not sure what the complaint is. The Advent Calendar can't read your mind and give you exactly what you want (especially when you've just said how particular and discerning you are)

    Ditto.

Also covered in Disclaimer 2 in the initial post.

As you may have seen in my other thread, Richard considers himself to be an excellent marksman. Actually, Richard considers himself to be excellent at almost everything and has demonstrated those skills in his own way. "I'm an excellent..." has become "a thing" in these stories.

Edit: Or course I am referring to the Richard of my imagination, not the "real" Richard. Although, here in the forum, he has proven that the "real" Richard is also excellent at everything. He seems to have in depth knowledge about anything (Daz related or not) that anyone mentions.

@barbult whilst I appreciate the input, I'm fully aware of how important documentation can be - after all I've included it with several of my other products, and I was a software developer (front end web) for many years. That being said, I also know from experience that documentation is often ignored - but that doesn't usually deter me because I've always been the one advocating for it, along with accessibility improvements. To be perfectly honest I didn't think documentation would be necessary for this product as I thought it was fairly straightforward, which was clearly a misconception on my part - but still included some readme notes just in case. I've also advocated for having a readme link on the product page and have made loads of other suggestions, but it's not a priority for Daz. Whilst one can try to predict what problems will be faced, sometimes it has to be done retrospectively, which is why I create these forum threads to try and provide some support - which isn't something we have to do, but I try to as I know how valuable it can be for customers. This is also something I've considered not doing, because most of the time my threads are ignored, so it really is a balancing act to know what to do sometimes. Writing documentation can also be very time consuming, which in the current climate with constant sales/promotions means that we have to be increasingly more efficient with our time, that's sadly the reality. Sorry for the long message but I felt it was necessary to explain.

The tips provided above are all great ones and very valid.

I'll add one more. If you put a cart together and you like the items and total enough to want to check out, check out. Like others have said, don't wait for a better deal. You can always make a second purchase if there's another good deal. But you can't get back a great cart you missed out on waiting for a better deal.

Good advice, with the caveat that most coupon codes are use-once. (So you can't always go back for a second round.) It's a balancing act between checking out when you're happy to lock in your deals, or risking something going wrong to squeeze a few more items into the cart.

Sales generally turn over at midnight Mountain Standard Time (Daz's time zone) and often the items that were discounted before jump up in price. They'll eventually be discounted again in a future sale.

    j_grean said:

    Hi all

I was thinking of making some purchases after being away from Daz for some time. Foolishly stuck some things in my cart over the BF weekend, thinking that sale would extend past Monday... which it did not. Eh, just about every other softtware maker I use/am interested in has their sale last about a week past BF, but ok, Daz does not. So items in my cart are all back to being full price, rather than 50% off.

My question is, since there is "always another sale", though I am pretty unfamiliar with the Daz sales cycles or regular events:
WIll there be any other chances leading up to Xmas, at Xmas, or after Xmas for 50% off most items? Or is BF the biggest/best and I've sadly missed it?

Thanks for your wisdom in advance

My advice would be to read some of the forum pages, especially in this thread, to get a feel for how people reacted to past sales. That and don't be hasty - just watch for awhile, and study the shop rhythm. There are offers running constantly, and imo a strong sale happens at least every few weeks.

Sales between Christmas and New Years will probably have some deeper discounts.

  • How to organize my stuff

For the list of products you own on the Daz store I believe that the Daz Deals plugin adds some functionality that may help categorize things (apply label) but I have not used it.

For the general questions, Smart Content should have been the answer to that - but since it's often missing or wrong it unfortnately cannot be relied upon. My current go-to is to search on google for whatever outfit, prop, pose etc the scene needs and hope that one of the first few items that pops up is a product that I already own (or is on sale).
