I know I know... he'll be here when he gets here. But it sure is taking a long time. I thought for sure he'd be out this weekend. AND I got paid this weekend, sooo I know, the money will be oopso by the time he makes his appearence. Crazy that he was mentioned so far back and yet - still no Michael 7 - can you all from now on get him released before you release HER? WHY is SHE the prominant one anyway? Why must she, V-girl the first out the door.
No one dare better say, "Ladies First" either.

Seeing as how fantastic M6 is and even M5 - you guys are going to really have to pull a serious rabbit out of your hat with M7.... and because I'm always ALWAYS in need of different men... I have no choice but to get him. I'm even going to get HW - Dusk... not that I like him all that much, but he adds variety... and that is very much needed when it comes to making custom characters for authors and bookcovers.
Anyway... sure hope it's not going to be much longer.
Now, I had better get some writing done. It is a shame and a disgrace how far behind I am with completing my next novel. I've never been so bad as this. 19 novels and this one, number 20 - is a CHORE - But finish it I will... I'm entertaining different ideas for my bookcover. And I really wanna see if M7 might be a possible for this novel, "Saoirse" about the Irish Slaves.

Likely why Vicky is often first is she probably sells better... likely makes more sense to put her out first, especially with a new generation/new rigging as such...
I'm actually surprised we haven't heard about michael 7 by now given that they gave us a discount on his future purchase with the purchase of Scott 6
I think we may still be due a gen 2 male release. I thought it was said there was another before m7 was released. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about another gen 2 male being released when Scott 6 barely warranted 1 day of content and has had no content since.
What's the point of issuing gen 2 figure packs since support and no further content is being made for them?
I, too, wish DAZ would release both genders at the same time when they introduce a new generation. I'm not sure why they split them up, or why there is such a long gap between releases, but I'm sure they have their reasons. I think delaying the release of the female base and Victoria (7,8,9, whatever) for a few months until the male is ready to go with her would be a good idea, and PAs who specialize in one gender over another will have plenty to work on to get both out with a grand flourish. Anyway, I'm just happy to be able to work on any figure, but I definitely feel the sentiment you guys have.

Yes, very long time. I would be rather pissed if we saw one more female model arrive before him.
I think 1 male model for every 5 females is bad enough. (Not counting Scott, he is last gen).
I was always told it is better to do one thing well than two things badly. We haven't covered all the base shapes for G3F yet, I think we should wait untill we have done everything right for her before starting on the males.

There's a lot of pre-existing stuff out there for Genesis 2. Heck of a lot more than there is for Genesis 3. :) If a new G2M or G2F figure comes out, I buy it with a mind of what I'll use with him/her from my existing assets.
As for me, I'm only going to go down that route when I can afford the pro packs, because, sadly, they're the only versions which include genitalia. It's the decision I made when I started down G2. I've yet to find a reason to use completely nude renders, but I want the option there if I do have to.
Also, there have only been two or three things, so far, for G3F which seem like desirable products and not just retreads of what's already out there... If it offered the same kind of quantum leap over G2F, as G2F's HD did over Genesis, it wouldn't matter, but G3F doesn't seem to offer any tangible improvements/differences over G2F, from what I've seen (some have claimed she supposedly bends better, but I can't say I've been able to perceive that). I'd imagine G3M will feel the same in comparison to G2M, too.

I don't mind that there is a new gen 2 male to be released first. But I do want a full release. When a new figure was released there used to be more content. With Scott 6, there was women's content released and not even a second day with content for him. Since he is a somewhat exagerated figure it would be nice to have more content released for his shape.
It concerns me, sinc the last two male releases have been rather weak. Kory and Scott what will m7 be? Scott only had 1 base eye color. Although I liked the character, he seemed rushed to be honest. it was like 'lets get this male out of the way so we can get back to doing gen 3 female'
I do think they should release the base male for gen 3, regardless of when M7 is released. They really aren't mutually exclusive.
It would also be cool if there was a male base for gen 3 female like Nalin released. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Since Base Male for Genesis 3 will be free (I assume), I can not see them releasing that without M7, as for marketing reasons M7 will generate more sales if it appears first as well. DAZ are a business, and will organise their release cycles around what brings in the most revenue.
I laugh every time I hear that female stuff sells better. Well, there is no male stuff... so what choice do we have?
The really funny thing about all this release ridiculousness is that sure, Vickie always gets first dibs but she's always full of bugs, by the time we get the male most of the bugs have been worked out so we get a pretty much flawless release (except for last time with the nipples on the male mesh beeing a bit too far to the center of the pec, odd). So here's hoping when he's released we get an even more flawless release. I wonder what WOULD happen if there was a solid equal timed release of both genders? Would content for both be more equal from the get go? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

People who aren't going to buy M7, will just get the genesis 3 male base, so I'm not really seeing that as a tremendous impact really. =-) Michael has always been a bestselling product.

Okay? Tell me about it, I'm a woman, but I don't WANT all this woman stuff, most of which I can't use. Hoochy-wear GALORE! Maybe it's because they are catering to those who animate in porn perhaps? I'm not sure... just a thought. But I will say this, more and more vendors are making clothing for the everyday life of Victoria and her possee. That's good... but... I want M7 let loose FIRST for once... as I see however, not gonna happen.
I do think they have overdid it a bit with releasing quite so many gen 3 females and not one male. I can understand Victoria 7... But Josie? I just don't get releasing teen figures before a male base has even been released.
I also think We got Lilith last year around October right? will we get Lilith 7 then?
I doubt it, she's only a year old or so. But you never know. Josie and Vickie are both 2 years old about. Means nothing, but if for example Lee 7 came out in a few months I think people would be annoyed. So I think the most recent releases may be closer to the end of the cycle. not last or in same exact time frame, but just not too soon either.
I suspect a lot of Gen 6 bases, like Lilth, Lee etc will not get an equivalent named one in generation 7. The only absolute certs are Victoria and Michael, all the rest could be new names like Karen, Bethany etc. Whilst I think an Aiko 7 is highly likely, even that is not guaranteed, as it was a long time before Aiko arrived as a Gen 6 base.
I suspect we'll see Olympia 7. That is probably one of the few I will actually buy, since I really adore Olympia. Maybe a Stephanie 7.
I think allot of people would be very happy if MeiLin, Lee, Monique and Darius arrived early in the generation, regardless of their release date last generation, people were calling out for it very early into G3F. It would be very awesome if they considered other cultures for new characters as well, many hoped that was what they were going to do in Genesis 2.
The next gen characters are never the same as its predecessors anyway,generally they are somewhat re-imagined and hardly something to get upset about if you bought Lee 6 in the last 12 months and Lee 7 arrives. Honestly I think things are getting boring fast with G3F having just caucasian girls released so far.
I think Lee sold well. Not sure about Monique/Mei-Lin./Darius.
I do think Darius and Lee are my favorites of those. They just are different enough to be interesting and warrant unique shapes.
Of course one of my favorite Asian Characters is Ryuu. Hope to see a gen 7 adaption of him assuming that Gen 7 male makes this possible.
Would like to see some different bases though. Unless the figures are sufficiently unique, I don't see needing more Gen7 women.... Would like an alien/other type base figure (not a kidlike fairy please). We seem to have the human girl with tanned skin covered.
I think our next female is Arabella. I'm not hopeful that is the name of an alien. Sadly.
The upset about the theme they were sold with aside, I think Monique and Darius had done well. Monique I particularly liked among the G2F iconic characters, I very much liked Gia and Stephanie also, Olympia was gorgeous too. Mei Lin was loverly, but I just saw too much of the Victoria idealization going on in her is all.
I would love a version of Ryuu in G2 + G3, he is such an awesome and unique character, certainly among the best characters for me.
I'm all for the aliens and fantasy creatures, but I am not keen on the idea of it breaking the release sequence of the already so few males. Minotaur and Reptilian were fantastic but they meant even less human male iconics as they were seemingly counted for G2Ms releases. Really could have used more human shapes for the males, especially thin and average blokes.
I'd like a thin tall adult male. Agree about the critters counting as male characters. Don't consider Minotaur or reptilian to be men per se. I do like aliens but certainly of the human-like Star Trek variety is what I'm talking about otherwise I would consider it another critter release.
Since at least gneneration 3 all DAZ figures use the same mesh for that generation and the mesh is based more on the female form. This why the female figure always comes first and then the male sometime later (and why the nipple is always to centered on the pecs because they are actually re-shaped breasts). Michael 4 had the longest delay after Victoria 4's release because we were told they had a heck of a time getting the chest right.
