Relatively new user here. Most of what I’ve seen on this thread is recreations of established heroes, so I hope it’s OK to post original heroes here as well. This is General Welfare, my patriotic superhero that I use when I play the ICONS superhero role-playing game with my sons. He’s put together from a number of different products:

    • Body: Michael 5 with Michael 5 Hero dialed up to 100%
    • Head: applied some aging morphs — side wrinkles 100%, laugh lines 1 70%, laugh lines 3 50%, laugh lines 4 -50%
    • Skin: Thomas for M5
    • Eyes: Young Teens 5
    • Bodysuit: the good old Genesis Supersuit
    • Ear covers: Supersuit Troopers
    • Boots: Supersuit Boots
    • Belt: from Soldier 2025, scaled down to fit Genesis a little better
    • Shaders: mostly from DG Shader Essentials 3 and the shaders that came with Supersuit
    • Star: drawn in iDraw + Acorn and imposed using the technique from Randall Lloyd’s tutorial here
    • Pose: from Muscleman’s Heroes Defenders
    • Light (a particularly weak point for me): Uber Environment 2

Recommendations and helpful critiques welcome and desired! BTW, my original concept for his eyes was something more like Spider-Man or Daredevil, an opaque (from the outside) white eye hole. (I know, Daredevil’s is red, but you know what I mean.) I could not figure out any way to accomplish that. I tried using Joe Quick’s M4 super-mask that I got from ShareCG, but could not make it work well on this figure. The eye zone is there, but it “crumples” and GW’s eyebrows keep poking out. The M5 face seems to be all one material zone so I couldn’t figure a way to imitate the technique I saw in a Spider-Man elsewhere on this thread of closing the eyes and applying a metal/plastic texture to the face with smoothing in postwork.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this, my first attempt at a superhero in DAZ. I’m eager to learn new and better tips and techniques for building original (well, quasi-original, since GW is obviously a Captain America wannabe) superheroes!

..I think he looks pretty neat.  While many take on the challenge of recreating existing heroes (and it's difficult to find content due to the copyrights so often items have to be custom modelled from scratch or "kitbashed"), there is nothing against posting pics of original "homegrown" characters.

I posted a pic to an earlier incarnation of this thread of my old Champions hero Amber (who is currently undergoing a major update), as well as a character I recently created (usung a toon model) named Red Rocket.  Never got much feedback on them though.

I recently unearthed an old RPG writing project and there was a villain group that I had designed to be the opposite numbers to the player characters. I don't know if will ever see the light of day as a publication but I thought I'd throw it out there on this thread just for fun.

hello i have a question that is bothering me, i made a batman using various items and got a really cool looking badge on his chest, i am now trying to make a superman to fight him but my superman badge keeps going see thru? any ideas? i am making him using the genesis super suit, i added a supersuit and made it blue, beause i wanted the emblem to seem 3d not just a sticker i added another supersuit and used a superman emblem to make the badge shape for the opacity but now it goes see thru and looks silly. any help would be nice, batman needs a superman to fight,

here is the batman i have,

made using gen2male, supesuit and cape, nanosuit, the cowl was made in blender by me, the blades on his gloves are cutdown katana swords shape of the cape was done using opacity map made in gimp.

Joequick, do you know of any Age of Apocalypse addons or suits? I'd love to render some cartoon AoA stuff but can't find anything.

Sorry, I don't think I parsed your question right the first time you asked it.

No, it sounds like you're aware of the only AoA stuff that's out there, the stuff by Ionisys.

Very nice, he has a very 50s/60s Simon and Kirby feel to him. Thanks for sharing, love to see more.

Awesome, looks like a cover shot. The last thing I want to do is slow your modelling down, but you should do more of this stuff, it looks like loads of fun.

Fantastic Four is coming... Holy crap this looks really really good but Johnny Storm is supposed to be a white guy... as he is Sue Storm's {Invisible Girl} brother.  I guess they had to go and change things... again...

I dunno, but maybe he just got a dark tan from being in flames all the time , maybe that's what happens if you go "FLAME ON angry" without using SPF 150000000000000

Saw it wink  I had serious concerns about Doom although the re-imagining of Sue and Johnny didn't bother me angel  Without giving anything away, I think I can say if you go in with an open mind you will probably be pleasantly surprised cool

Definitely liked it more than Avengers 2 and Ant-Man laugh

is a composition between two products. One, it's hard hat, Antman for M3 available free of sharecg.com, the other, is the helmet of Powerage's fighters3000

    very nice

  • I asked this on the Freebies thread but no one has replied yet...

Does anyone know where I can find one of the free MODOK models for Poser? There have been one or two over the years (maybe even three?) and I can't recall where I found them. I scanned the Superhero Freebies listings posted at the front of that thread without much luck. Of course, I'm looking for something that was one or two hard drive crashes ago so I'm trying to find something that might not even exist anymore...

Thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found this one in FBX format on TF3D. It needs to be rigged, but it looks like a decent model.
