    Fill 4   Kids Play- Pegs

Okay, backtracking a bit, I did say I was skipping around, I had done some fills and then other folks did some that were similar colors (pinks, reds) so I wanted to do a variety at the time and moved on to later fill numbers. Here's Fill 4. Going to experiment with the Kids Play as I found that interesting.

    1.)  Fill 4        2.)   Kids Play   Pegs size 1

    3-5.) Added Smoked Glass  35  / 55 /  65

Fill 4   Kids Play- Building Blocks

1.)  Building Blocks 25. (Largest)              2.)   Added Stained Glass size 1, black lines.

3.)  Took it off, then did Stained Glass size 3. For Stained Glass on these blocks, the smallest number increase really changes it.    4. Took that off then upped it to size 9.

    5. Keeping that, I then went to a different setting under Creative and did Glass Block 100/15  (width/height)  It's what the previous one would look like if you'd had way too much to drink.         6.)  Then went to Textures and added Cobblestone. I love it!

7 & 8   Then Smoked Glass 25 then 40 to make it more subtle for you.

I'm getting REALLY annoyed with these forums. They keep moving the images! I have a 10 space between the squares, two on one line (so they don't stretch out way down the post) and sometimes they do it, other times the second one drops down and looks like it's indented. Not me folks, it's the forum acting up. It looks different every time I leave and come back too, so I don't know what you're seeing!

  • KnittingmommyKnittingmommy Posts: 7,790

Well, I see two on a line and nothing is indented all the way down the page and everything lines up.  I'm pretty sure I'm seeing it the way you intended it to look.  The format shows up fine in my browser.

I'm Chrome, what are you using? Mine is still showing wonky. angry

Newbie question: How do you put a background into Daz Studio (latest version)?

    Found it in Environment-Backdrop. blush

No need to put an embarrass face, we've all had to search to find something at one point! And when they changed the studio versions, they moved where that backdrop was, so a bunch of us were asking "Where did it go?"  Can't tell if you're a newbie, (the number of posts doesn't really accurately depict that)  but using Depth of Field on some of these will make them more usable if they're too "strong." In my Art Studio thread here, we are currently discussing DOF and someone gave a screenshot, if you'd like to see how it's done/ask questions.

Hope you enjoy the backgrounds  smiley

Thank you @Novica! The backgrounds are beautiful, and it will be difficult to decide which to use. I've been playing with DOF but I will check out the discussions about it!

Thank you all so much for these amazing backgrounds!!!!

Seems this thread needs a bump so I'll make a possibly obvious statement. These backgrounds doesn't necessarily need to be used exclusively as backgrounds. Here I used one of Knittingmommy's chalkboards on an actual chalkboard prop. I just had to scale up the board on the X-axis for the image to fit. And I also used two of the other chalkboard backgrounds as background and floor.

That's a pretty cool render!  It's so nice to see some of these backgrounds in use!

    Hi everyone,

    Beautiful resources here, thank you!

Here are some more in PNG format.

A simple fractal 1768x2048, generated in Apophysis7X: with transparency to put over other colours/gradients, and an example of a "finished" background.

    A spotty/flamey texture 2437x2048, generated in Paint.NET.

OK, my turn.  Just playing around in Photoshop with Ron's Smoke and Stained.  They are 2000 x 2500.

Use them as you would like.

I was playing with smoke brushes and trying to figure out how to use them with color from the gradient.  Didn't quite work out, but I got some nice background images.  Two sets. Second set is exactly the same as the first set, but with some Gaussian blur added for those times when you want a DOF feel to the image.

Here's the background from the Point Light tutorial/examples in my thread. It's 2048 x 2048. Great for dramatic portraits. Shown is the portrait from the tutorial on point lights.

A few more backgrounds. Good for subtle beams of light radiating out from behind a figure. 1054 x 1054. Some with Gaussian Blur to make it very subtle, becomes more like leather.

Here's a download for 10 backgrounds @ 2000 x 2000 pixels.  Backgrounds can be used for commercial and non-commercial artwork, just don't sell the backgrounds themselves.  Cheers!

Thank you Crescent- extremely nice! I particulary like the second to last one, reminds me of a multiple treelines with perspective.
