Holy Wow! That one looks fantastic!
Now I think I need to play with G3F a bit more. I didn't buy V7, but I've got Adaline and Gillian. (Neither actually need V7...)
I like to shoot my photos in camera raw, then tinker with them in the raw utility before bringing them into Photoshop. How I think of it is turning the Tone Mapper off is like shooting in camera raw and using the Tone Mapper is like letting my camera process the image before saving to memory. I don't stress over the settings. If I need to adjust the amount of light the camera sees, the only setting I change is the Exposure Value.
Stop the savvy chitchatt and post your renders PLEASE!!
I would but I hate cropping my images and save as JPEG because a pair of big boobs are prohibited here...tsk!
Your wish is my command. (At least, when it's in line with what I wanted to do anyway... lol)
Here's an older render I did for the Opposites challenge a couple months back.
The Weaker Sex?

Wow! thanks!
title: "One movie, different perspectives"
Aww... a family portrait.
Cute.
Snoring AGAIN?? LOL
like in real life, I got sleep when watch movies,
my virtual family from left to right: Midori, Me, Sayumi and Saori.
next: Commander Midori, an old scene remasturbized, or whatever its tecnically said.
Some more gloss on the lips, I'm calling done on this.
CHEERS!
Is the Grim armour as standard or did you adjust the shaders? Back in 3DL I did a new MAT from the ground up with bump and spec maps.
CHEERS!
Some basic iRay conversion, nothing fancy, just evading shiny gloss.
I'll probably do a full ground up rehash and put an emissive shader in the lenses. I'll need more practice first though.
CHEERS!
Monique? That was V4, Stephane5 and Candace with the lips and eyes tweaked using the morph settings and I coloured the skin from Caucasian to what you see.
I know, what I meant was that, for renders like that, there will probably be a G3 equivalent to Monique 6 available soon.
CHEERS!
When I did that I hadn't seen Monique, I have now
a WIP still, need more props, tought, but it's a start scene.
Looking good so far.
CHEERS!
And you buy a card then want need to buy more Daz products to test it /nod
I really like this; the only concern that puts me off is the vertical position of the subject and the central placement.
New render.
Yes, that will doubtless happen. I expect G3M/M7 will be out before I get a new card.
CHEERS!
Looks great, I do like the skin. I always find that male textures have much more interesting skin. I tried my MEC4D shader on G3F, but, she didn't look any different when rendered so I gave up. I will see what I can do with Darius 6 though.
CHEERS!
Trying to learn to light things better. Looking at it now I thnk I should have gotten a warmer background for this.
I think that looks very nice. The characters stand out very well from the background you chose.
Thanks barbult. I was thinking warmer color tone because the sentiment seems to fit it better than the bluish / cold one does. But I appreciate your comment because I was trying specifically to use lights to provide highlights that seperate the characters from the backdrop so I'm pleased to hear you say it came across. Thanks!
I quite like it too,
I tried Darius 6HD in Iray and was a teeny bit underwhelmed. The lighting and the skin shader is the same as I used on V7 and I have yet to work on the eyes or the inner mouth. Had I not started with V7, I might not be quite as excited by Iray as I now am. Here's the render anyway...
CHEERS!
Here's a body shot. I had to double check everything to make sure it was actually Iray, and it was. I'm sure G3M/M7 will be better than this.
CHEERS!
..I've taken to using a neutral background when test rendering individual characters for a scene. I find Mec4D's ambient HDRI along with a freebie blank backdrop screen (HorizonT, I believe I found it at ShareCG) works really good for proofing.
Using one of the Yosemite HDRI's and a few props. No other lights.
Skunk Stand Off
A bit bare looking.

That looks better

I don't know if it completely qualifies as Iray renders, given the extensive post work, but my webcomic has an update (FINALLY)
