There is a truly inspiring thread on this forum, the https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/8629/generation-3-aiko-and-hiro-appreciation-thread, where some very dedicated people celebrate two very old figures by continuously creating new renders with them. As I didn't find any, I would like to start a similar one about Genesis 2 for everybody interested, honoring the products and the potential from that generation.

Hopefully, I am not the only one who likes Genesis 2, so if you contribute a render, it would be nice, if you could add a link to the image in your gallery for our comments and likes or to provide us there with further information - but that is not a rule, just a suggestion, so the only "rule" would be: It's something you like about the Genesis 2 generation

Limited Time Freebies Discussion Thread

So, Kerya has gone through a lot of trouble to give us a Limited Time Freebie announcement thread (Thanks Kerya!!), where we can be notified when items that are normally sold are offered for free for a short time. This thread is extremely popular and useful, as it helps keep us from missing out on these free items.

The only thing she's asking is that we keep the commentary and discussion to a minimum, so that when we recieve notices about new posts, we get the freebie info. But we like to talk, don't we? So, in an effort to help Kerya (and all of us really) out, I decided to create this thread.

A note to Daz hair developers...

I'm done with strand based hair and will no longer buy strand based hair products. These are now an automatic pass for me in the content store. These hair items rarely work, simulations can take hours, very often crash Studio, the results are less than appealing and, quite frankly, strand based hair doesn't look as good as mesh hair. I have multiple strand based hair props in my library that I almost never use because of these issues. The strand based hair props I do use I use only because they'll work without a simulation and even then, they're a substantial drag on my CPU and GPUs. They're not worth it. I'm just one user and of course, others may find these appealing, but for me, I feel like I've wasted my money.

I understand that many developers put a lot of effort in their products. I appreciate that. This is not a failure of the developers who create these products but rather the intrinsic fault of strand based hair. It's usually far too demanding of CPU and GPU resources and the results aren't worth all that extra time, all the difficulties in posing and rendering and yada, add nausea. And, mesh hair looks better, is easier to use and renders better.

I'm probably gonna get shouted down because of this post and it will probably get frozen and closed but I feel it needed to be said.

The license is listed between the SKU: and the matrix of promo pictures where it has the text:

Prismatic Hair Shaders [Commercial]

Currently in testing, this is a collection of Iray Uber shader presets that enables rainbow/chromatic hair.

It was designed for strand-based hair, but I've made it versatile so that it can be used on card-based hair and even props or clothing - the main condition is that whatever you apply it to has good UV's that are layed out either horizontally or vertically.

You can still use it on something that has more randomised/off-axis UV's, but the result may be more chaotic ;)

Here's a thread for all of us mad shoppers to actually try, test and use our purchases (rather than just add to our collection) and upload the awful, beautiful, thoughtful, terrible renders. It doesn't matter which. Doesn't matter if it took you a few minutes or days.
Masterpieces are great. But so are totally random rubbish test renders! Just render those buys!!! (Or at least some of them.)

Maybe we can keep this thread and just update it for each sale and carry on.
You can write a few words with your render, or you can tell a whole story with links to the new items you're trying out.
Hope we can keep each other inspired to not just shop, but actually use some of this stuff!

Hi everyone

My next product release will address a common issue where teeth can appear greyish or dark and impact the realism of a render.

There are presets for both Genesis 8 and Genesis 9 figures, with both texture-based and color only variants, plus stackable LIE presets to bleach or darken the result (for the texture-based options).

All presets use the Iray Uber shader and affect teeth only. As a bonus I've also included presets for Teeth Essentials Shapes and Materials for Genesis 9 - this product is only required for those bonus presets.

Here are some of the promos, but if there's a particular character you'd like to see a before and after on, please comment below and if I have them I'll do my best to render something and post to this thread - please do share your own results once the product is released :)

MD Wet Skin for Genesis 9 have file allocation problem

In short this product always had problem since day one, users can't install it properly to Daz smart content via DIM, you can still use to manually locate it in content liberary, I guess many users put up with it and bite the bullet(myself included) but now it got some runtime problem, made the product completely not usable, in smart content nor in content liberary, clicking on the geo shell simply says it can't find the product file anywhere even it's installed where it was. Really hope PA of this product can show up and fix it
