      <description><![CDATA[<p>G3M is glowing from within the mouth! I though OK, I thought I somehow turned on Emissive Light but it is not turned on for the teeth or the mouth or any other part of the model. I am using DAZ Studio Public Beta 4.9.4.110.</p>

<p>What could cause that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, yesterday the program was working just fine, but today I&#39;ve been getting this bug with every figure I try. Basically, it looks like the character&#39;s skin isn&#39;t shown right through the viewport. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Genesis3 essentials, thinking that was the problem. But this is happening with EVERY figure, including earlier generations. (Attaching my log file as well).</p>

<p>However, when I switch to Iray, the skin looks fine (at least). Nonetheless, could anyone share a way to fix this so the viewport looks... well, normal?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi!</p>

<p>I was creating a piece of cloth using this tutorial here:&nbsp;<span><span id="youtube-cEfUWcYpoD0"><span><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=cEfUWcYpoD0#t="><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/cEfUWcYpoD0/0.jpg" width="640" height="385" alt="image" style="border: 0px;" /></a></span><span></span></span></span> when I suddenly the female anatomical element didn&#39;t show correctly - it showed both versions the Genesis 3 sex-less figure and the genitalia overlay at the same time. In my opinion it was just a side effect because of using a geoshell for my figure and discarded the genitalia overlay.</p>

<p>When I lately worked on a different figure I noticed that the same effect happened to it, but I never used any geoshell on this other one, in fact I didn&#39;t use any geoshells in the whole scene, but the bug appeared in the same way as on the model before. Then I&#39;ve discarded everything also restarted Daz Studio and even my Computer and created a completely new model from scratch but no matter what, when I apply the genitalia it does no longer replace the sex-less part but just adds it to it.</p>

<p>I have no idea how or why. I haven&#39;t added any new products or changed any settings, all I did was using a geoshell on one of my models. Any help or ideas would be welcome, because I have no idea what could have been changed on Daz Studio that is now the cause for this bug.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Guys and Gals,</p>

<p>I recently bought Hinky Punk&#39;s rather cool-looking &#39;Prototype XT-4&#39; Gynoid.</p>

<p>My question:</p>

<p>What magical powers are needed to get the DARN thing to RENDER properly?!</p>

<p>I&#39;m MISSING something, but I don&#39;t know WHAT.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve TRIED clicking &#39;Step 1&#39;...G3F comes in (with white eyes) as a featureless gray silhouette...(think 50% gray surface with 100% Ambient...)</p>

<p>Creepy...but not what I was expecting.</p>

<p>I select G3F, and then double-click #2...Armor shell.</p>

<p>It loads, and I do a render. Now Ms. Featureless Ambient Grey is wearing BLACK armor. I go and select Armor, then go and pick an armor color...</p>

<p>You can see the color (barely)...but it has NO highlights...and is almost black. (If I pick White armor, it renders as white, but almost blown out, as if the Ambient channel is high.)</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried doing the above for the inner materials and, again...nothing.</p>

<p>I still see Ms. Featureless Ambient Gray wearing near-black, slightly colored armor with no shine or REAL highlights.</p>

<p>If I start with a NORMAL G3F, and apply the armor, I wind up with the same look armor on a human form.</p>

<p>Even If I try the PRESETS...The Pre-Made color schemes...THAT leads me to the same place...</p>

<p>(I&#39;m using the 3D Delight render engine, BTW.)</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m <em><strong>COMPLETELY BAFFLED</strong></em>, people...what do I do? What am I MISSING? Is there a tutorial on how to use this product?!</p>

<p>A common practice in photography is to set a light source behind the head to create a rim effect on the hair.</p>

<p>You can achieve the same effect&nbsp;with fibermesh hair and Iray by setting the &quot;<strong>Base Color Effect</strong>&quot; to &quot;<strong>Scatter &amp; Transmit</strong>&quot; when a light is&nbsp;oriented properly&nbsp;to shine on the head from the back.</p>

<p>The effect you can achieve also depends on the thickness of the fibermesh hair.</p>

<p>- <strong>hair strands consisting&nbsp;of points</strong> (connected vertices in a hair curve) have no thickness -&gt; no refraction, no subsurface scattering, just backlighting effects.</p>

<p>- a <strong>thin cylinder volume in the form of a hair strand </strong>features an increased point count that allows for thickness -&gt; refraction, subsurface scattering is possible</p>

<p>The hair in the screenshot is from the &quot;George Hair Set&quot; and was autofitted to Genesis 3 Female.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve looked at many of the existing threads and tutorials, and none of them help.<br />
<br />
Let&#39;s say I downloaded an item - a pair of glasses. In the unzipped folder for the item, I see folders for: Daz Studio Content, Readme, and Runtime.<br />
<br />
I create a new folder and put all the files in here.<br />
<br />
Now I navigate over to My Documents/Daz 3D/Studio<br />
<br />
I see My Connect Library, My Library and Render Library.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
In My Library, I see nothing except Presets (because I made one earlier) with some stuff in it, and Scenes (which is empty).<br />
<br />
... How can I load my glasses into a scene I want to make?<br />
<br />
I already went into Content Manager and told it to look in my created folder, called Downloads. I added this folder under &quot;Daz Studio Formats&quot;, with Content Library --&gt; Content Directory Manager.<br />
<br />
If I attempt to use Content Library and load the item, an error message pops up (&quot;one or more files cannot be found&quot; etc).<br />
<br />
Could somebody help?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Cannot seem to find answer.&nbsp; <strong>Does DS use VRAM in the process of desiging a scene</strong> or does it use only system RAM ( or both )</p>

<p>Building a new machine just to use for creation not rendering.&nbsp; I have a 2GB Nvidia card I already use and will transfer to the new machine which will have twice as much system RAM (32GB).</p>

<p>Does VRAM have any impact on the process of actually building scenes?&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Is a GPU even be necessary or helpful for this purpose?</strong></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve done a TON of renders. Sometimes, the eyes light up great in lighting. Then, in similar lighting, they look totally dead.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t get it. I&#39;ve had the lights be bright and otherwise. Changed eyes to be glossy, messed with the cornea eye bulge...but occasionally, eyes are simply dead.</p>

<p>Any thoughts on how to get consistent, realistic eye reflection?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The DM (Dark Man) Suit for G2M has shoes that make the feet disappear.</p>

<p>Which is fine until you take the shoes off. &nbsp;I didn&#39;t realize they did that until later when I started trying to get back to base figure.</p>

<p>I have a character that I put that shoes on I want his feet back. &nbsp;I&#39;ve tried reapplying the base skin, the base shape, I&#39;ve gone into the figure and played with visibility. &nbsp;I&#39;ve tried placing an entirely new actor over the existing one.</p>

<p>Everything I try results in the feet still being gone. &nbsp;Whatever DM did in this case was not a simple &quot;invis&quot; marker. &nbsp;It did something that I can&#39;t figure out how to reverse, and I don&#39;t want to recreate this character from scratch.</p>

<p>How do I fix this short of having to start all over and thereby waste hours of work?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have two Titan Z&#39;s that I do all rendering on.&nbsp; Until recently, even if the scene exceeded the RAM on the card, the cards sill rendered the scene.&nbsp; For some reason, now,</p>

<p>after about the first 15 to 20 iterations, even on scenes with only one figure... the whole render switches over to the cpu.&nbsp; CPU fans start up and the render slows to a crawl.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It&#39;s like the cards just say ... OK we&#39;re done here and give up.&nbsp; I&#39;ve got them set to maximize 3d performance and have tried with them both with sli and without.&nbsp; Anyone know of any other Nvidia settings that I could be missing?</p>

<p>Or ... is a video card just going out?</p>

<p>I am working with a friend to make his props (mainly architecture and some vehicles) available in DAZ Studio. There are going to be two versions of each prop,1 with 3Delight materials and the other with Iray materials. After having watched or read some tutorials on saving props&nbsp;I have found that each has their own method. I have a couple of questions which I hope someone can answer for me.</p>

<p>1. I have seen a few&nbsp;different suggestions as to where to save props which will eventually be sold&nbsp;- some suggest to My Library, others directly to the main My DAZ3D Library under the vendor&#39;s name&nbsp;and others suggest setting up a separate directory. Any thoughts or preferences?</p>

<p>2. Is there a particular set up (folder structure) used&nbsp;when doing&nbsp;the 2 different versions (Iray and 3Delight)?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any help would make my life easier so thanking you in advance for your replies.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>About a week ago something changed in my Surfaces tab editor.</p>

<p>The surfaces tab editor used to show only the same item as is highlighted in my scene tab. And the edits I made only applied to that same item I had highlighted in my scene tab.</p>

<p>But now the surfaces tab editor shows just about every item in my scene, no mater what single item I have selected in my scene. And if I select the item I want to change within my surfaces tab editor and change a surface property for that item, it will change that property for many other items in my scene as well, much against my will. I have not yet determined exactly how many other items in my scene that get changed as well. But on first glance it looks like every single one of them.</p>

<p>How do I make my surfaces tab editor behave the way it used to behave?</p>

I am not sure why this is happening and have no idea how to fix it any help please would be greatly appreciated, thank you..</p>

<p>i can&#39;t seem to transfer soto&#39;s vincent head morphs thru genx2 for any target figure. could i do it with mlp? if so, how will the geometry match for genesis? morphs can be used for either m4 or f4 base? i&#39;ve tried both in genx2.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>hi there, i&#39;m having difficulties starting Daz3d and was hoping for some help.</p>

<p>since i couldn&#39;t find a similar thread in the forums, i&#39;m creating this new thread but, should this problem be known and solved already,</p>

<p>i&#39;d appreciate any links.</p>

<p>so, i&#39;ve had Daz3d on my old pc and it worked fine. after receiving a new computer, i stuffed my HDD into the new</p>

<p>one and installed a new and fresh win 7 pro version on a SSD (so daz3d and the new windows are not on the same drive).</p>

<p>after uninstalling and reinstalling daz3d though, it didn&#39;t want to start.</p>

<p>the splash screen pops up and after initialization, the program just freezes. i&#39;ve included a screenshot of what i can see before i</p>

<p>have to close the application.</p>

<p>as i said, i&#39;m using Windows 7 Professional, got a Geforce GTX 1070 from Gigabyte and am using 64 GB DDR4 of RAM with an</p>

<p>Intel i7 6800k 3,4 Ghz Prozessor; so i think my hardware should be able to handle Daz ^^&#39;</p>

<p>Though i&#39;m using an older graphics driver (373.06) since the newest one had compatibility problems with many</p>

<p>programs i use, such as several games and poser 11 pro.</p>

<p>any ideas ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>While rendering an image in Daz 4.9 using 3Delight, the render crashed, and the program froze when I tried to close it. After waiting many minutes the progam still was frozen so with Task Manaker I ended the task and Daz closed. When I go to the folder where the icon for that scene was, it turned into a DUF.TMP and it doesn&#39;t open... What happened? Did I lose my work?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When zooming in close in 3Delight, my character&#39;s eyes look normal but when I do a full body render, the eyes are all black -- there is no white portion at all.&nbsp; I need to add that in IRAY they come out perfectly fine in both close-up and full-body renders. Any idea what I need to do to fix this problem?</p>

<p>The image on the left was rendered in 3Delight. While the image on the right is a mirrored version of the same image rendered in IRAY. Is there anything that can be done in IRAY to show more of the veins and definition so that it looks closer to the 3Delight version?</p>

<p>I was told that changing the surface settings would help accomplish the desired results but I&#39;m not sure of which ones and I tried trial &amp; error but there is just too many of them to find the correct combination.</p>

<p>Any help that can be offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello!</p>

<p>I would like to make the head of a G2F model much smaller.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using the scale tool, and it works great.</p>

<p>However, the eye balls and the teeth won&#39;t scale along with it, I have to do it separately for these 2, and of course unfortunately they lose their relative position to the head.</p>

<p>Is there any easy way to have the &quot;underlying&quot; objects scale along with the head and preserve their relative positions?</p>
