      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since they added &quot;keymate&quot; features as standard to Daz Studio, the whole thing seems to be broken.</p>

<p>Whenever I try to animate something some properties won&#39;t be controlled by keyframes. I always end up having to do&nbsp; hours of extra work because despite copying keyframes, the figure won&#39;t be the same. Unless I go in and find the offending properties manually that are not being carried over. When I cope / paste keyframes.</p>

<p>Plus some properties seem to change on their own in the timeline, on keyframes I never touched. Like keyframes aren&#39;t actually keyframes even if I manually create them.</p>

<p>Animations are completely borked at this stage, I wasn&#39;t able to do anything successful in months, the scene always ends up being broken beyond hope of repair.</p>

<p>This all worked flawlessly while keymate was a separate product.</p>

<p>I&#39;d recommend the animation tool as a property randomizer at this stage.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I use ultra scenery quite a bit and there are&nbsp;proxy trees.&nbsp;I am able to select most&nbsp;geometry with the geometry editor and delete part of an object or scene</p>

<p>but these proxy trees won&#39;t let me select them.</p>

<p>Is there a way to select these proxy items and delete them individually?</p>

<p>I have created a large scene with about 15 characters in &quot;The Collesseum&quot; prop.</p>

<p>If I try and render two times in a row Daz always crashes the second time.&nbsp; I must always save the scene, restart the computer and it will then render again... once.&nbsp; So everytime I want to render a second picture I must restart my computer.</p>

<p>What in the memory is causing this?</p>

<p>My computer is an MSI gaming laptop&nbsp;</p>

<p>i7-7700HQ CPU</p>

<p>64-Bit OS</p>

<p>32Gb RAM</p>

<p>NVIDIA Quadro</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hoping someone can answer is simple terms to feed my curiosity.

I had 16gb of ram and 8gb of vram. When rendering with gpu ony, Daz would use around 12-13gb with a scene using around 6.5gb of vram.

When I started to do other thing with my pc while the render was running I would hit around 15gb of total ram usage. I decided this was the point to add more. 

I've upgraded to 32gb. Now with the same scene Daz is using 18gb of ram. Where did that extra 5gb of data come from, and what was it doing before? 

My assumption is that it was swapping a lot of data with my ssd, is this correct?

If so that's a lot of extra writes on an ssd.

<p>It looks pretty cool and I&nbsp;always struggle finding the sun in my HDRIs, that alone seems like a reason to&nbsp;buy this.</p>

<p>Also having the boost/ghost lights would be helpful in lighting the scene.</p>

<p>This is an old product though... The YouTube video is from 2017!</p>

<p>Does it still work with&nbsp;all of the Daz updates?</p>

<p>Is it compatible with other Daz lights and 3rd party lights?</p>

<p>Does anyone use&nbsp;this all the time still?</p>

<p>It seems like&nbsp;a product I would use every time I incorporate an HDRI into my scene (which is not every scene).</p>

<p>I render in IRAY exclusively, what are your suggestions on this product?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Thread edited. I updated DAZ from 4.12 to 4.14, and the good o&#39;l disappearing mouse pointer returned!</p>

<p>Problem happens kinda randomly, when I manipulate the viewport with my mouse.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve read numerous threads about this problem which dates back to years ago, but no reaction from the developers yet?</p>

<p>I am aware of the &quot;workaround&quot; (blindly navigating to the viewport draw options), but seriously, it&#39;s not that easy on a 4k monitor</p>

<p>Also, &quot;showing mouse pointer when clicking CTRL&quot; windows option is cumbersome, as I have to turn it off everytime I&#39;m launching a game.</p>

<p>Any other ideas on how to get rid of it?</p>

1. I don&#39;t know where the log is that I am suppose to look at.<br />
2. This occured when adding the Basic Mat for G8 female. The mat file is one that came with Daz Studio. I have used<br />
it before with no problem at all. This was on a Face Transfer figure if that matters but again I have used it with a face<br />
transfer figure before.&nbsp;<br />
3. I have had the same error message when trying to add color to a hair that I bought here at Daz<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;d like to drape an image over an object such as a body, body part, or other object in a DAZ scene. I&#39;d like the image to be deformed realistically by the object as if the image were cloth and the object were solid. Can anyone explain how to:</p>

<p>1) Setup the drape to cause the deformation?</p>

<p>2) Set the image to be transparent for specific RGB values or a range of values</p>

<p>3) Render the scene with both image and object visible</p>

<p>4) Render the scene with only the deformed image visible (not the object causing the deformations)</p>

<p>5) Export the deformed drape image and mesh for rendering in different software</p>

<p>If there is a tutorial that addresses these questions, please feel free to link to that instead of explaining in detail.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had a scene with a character and some clothes and stuff on it. It was around 2mb thorugh most of the work today. Then suddenly on another save it got to over 1GB size. That&#39;s just making it impossible to work, since it takes like 10 min to save. I tried to google the issue, and apparently it saved some assets to the file, as they were changed(?)&nbsp;But I don&#39;t recall changing anything like model&#39;s polygons, it was mostly sliders work. All I could think of is that dForce simulation, but it never increased the file size this much before. Neither did assigning other textures or changing colors, etc.</p>

<p>I tried deleting items one by one and saving, and deleting everything but the naked avatar seems to fix the problem. But seems like every&nbsp;cloth items attached to it is contributing to the file size, i.e. deleting hair would cut size from 1GB to 800mb, deleting a coat in addition would make it 700mb, etc.</p>

<p>Can it be set back to not saving everything inside the file? I haven&#39;t touched any toggles in fist place, it was saved as simple save as -&gt; scene and then just saved.</p>

<p>I really don&#39;t feel like re-making the whole thing from scratch.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Having a lot of issues since I&nbsp;upgraded to 4.12.1.118 / 64 bit for&nbsp;Mac. Now &quot;Pause&quot; won&acute;t work in the timeline when I hit the spacebar. &quot;Play&quot; works fine as before. If I change the short cut to another key it works again. But only until I open Daz the&nbsp;next time. The program also chrashes a lot when I save (command + S) The changes are saved but I have to open Daz again. On the whole there are lots of differnt issues, I can&acute;t move some of the key points, for example, in the new timeline, but I can move others. Some of the time&nbsp;it works, sometimes not.</p>

<p>Are these bugs in this version of Daz or could it be something that is conflicting with my assets in the content library? Or something else?</p>

<p>Anyone who came across these problems? Help!&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! I am looking to create a sort of frankenstien&#39;s monster character where each body part is clearly from different people&nbsp;and I was wondering if there was a way to essentially transfer the head or arm or any part to someone else? Or a simple, clean looking way to make appear as though they&#39;ve been swapped? I&#39;m still new to Daz so sorry if this is a simple thing.I&#39;ve tested hiding the parts of the different bodies and manually translating and rotating them to the right spots, but there&#39;s usually a gap or weirdness at the intersection. It also seems inefficent to have Daz load&nbsp;6 seperate characters just to appear as one character.<br />
<br />
For same genered characters I figure it&#39;s probably not that difficult to copy the specific morph values and edit the UVs together, but it seems overly tedious so if there&#39;s a faster way, that&#39;d&nbsp;be cool.</p>

<p>The part that really trips me up though is opposite genders, like a man&#39;s head on a woman&#39;s body or vice versa. I&#39;m used to blender and it seems like there should be a way to cut out the guy&#39;s head and delete the female&#39;s, and just connect the nect vertices on the woman body and man head, though there doesn&#39;t appear to be... Is there a solution for this?<br />

If this isn&#39;t possible as one character, then I&#39;d be willing to &quot;cheat&quot; it and find a better way make multiple characters&nbsp;appear as though they&#39;re just one. Thanks!</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been trying to apply the Carnegie Mellon mocaps to some of my figures and I&#39;m getting massive distortions on the chest (the elf ear morph I have also expands a lot, as you can see in the picture).&nbsp; I&#39;ve been able to confirm that it has to do with some chest morphs I&#39;ve applied to the figures.&nbsp; (Figures without these morphs don&#39;t have this &quot;explosion&quot;).&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried a lot of things, like turning off AutoFollow for the chest morphs and fiddling with the BVH import options, but nothing works.&nbsp; Locking the chest morphs does do something, the chest looks more normal though not quite the way it should, but then the sides of the figure get distorted instead.&nbsp; Any ideas on what I could do to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to use the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/aura-for-genesis-8-female">Aura</a> morph but only on the arms, so splitting the morph with&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/shape-splitter">Shape Splitter</a>.</p>

<p>Problem is the split morph looses subdivision level (from 3 back to 1). Is there any way to correct this ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I am not new to 3d but am new to Daz. I have a Gen3 model that I export to Maya. I noticed after importing into maya that part of the geometry has gone missing. It is not hidden, it is actually gone completely, both in maya and in Daz too.</p>

<p>save as pose preset</p>

<p>save as hierarchical pose preset</p>

<p>save as properties&nbsp;preset</p>

<p>They all seem to save the exact same data. I try to save character-specific facial expressions, and I can&#39;t figure it out, which one should be prefered. :(</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I just animated and created a model in Daz3D. And when i went to export it and import it into c4d the legs and arms go everywhere for some reason. I exported with .obj. from daz3d. I&#39;ll attach a picture so you can see what happened to my model. Sorry for bad English :)</p>

<p>I currently have an nVidia GTX 1070 which is doing okay, but run out of memory on some of the scenes I play with and then my processors ramp to 100% which I am trying to avoid.&nbsp; The new CPU Load Limit&nbsp;settings do not seem to work well for highly scaled processors (dual Xeon 2680 v3).&nbsp; I have been using Process Lasso to keep my workstation from going into &quot;jet engine&quot; mode and it works, for the most part, pretty well.</p>

<p>I have been looking heavily at an older <em>Quadro M6000 24GB</em>, but am concerned the speed hit would make renders unbearably long.&nbsp; I have also been looking at an <em>nVidia Titan XP</em>, and the <em>Quadro RTX 4000</em>.</p>

<p>Budget is around $1300.</p>

<p>Of the cards&nbsp;listed, what do the experts here think would give the best &quot;bang for the buck&quot;</p>

<p>I&#39;d like to try the raytracing functionality in the RTX cards, but am concerned there would still be a memory issue.</p>
