quick question
How do I hide the wireframe while using the UV & paint tools to shape a mesh?

    I don't think you can. I'd be interested as well though if anybody has been able to.

    You can't hide it on the active object.

    Wrong.

    Preference Editor -> 3D Display -> Selection -> Display Edges -> uncheck.

    Simples.
