The free gifts from issues 1&2 have now also been moved while the text on the page still says mediafire when you click the link at Issuu your download will come from our server

DS Creative Magazine now has an official Facebook page - drop on by at https://www.facebook.com/DSCreativeMagazine to get all the current news!
to follow the project, discuss ideas, get submission info etc please visit
https://www.facebook.com/groups/dazcreative/

thank you all for the support from the Ds creative team- Camilla Drakenborg, Phil Thompson, Totte Alm, Matt Allgood, Sanyel Jackson and Bobbie25! :)

It all started with a simple idea- wouldn't it be cool to have a magazine with all about Daz?!
The day after the idea was posted our all new Ds Creative- The Magazine for Daz Studio users, was born!
But we need your submissions! And not to worry, if you feel the deadline is to soon, there will be a new issue out each month!

(all info you need is in the picture)

1st Issue out July 1st 2014

And a special thanks to the Daz team for their support!

Ummm...yeah, impotent update news indeed.  I care not about your virility, so you probably meant "IMPORTANT".  Sorry, couldn't resist cheeky

All kidding aside, I enjoy reading this magazine whenever I get a chance.  Thanks to you and your team for your dedication.

Glad I discovered this a couple of months back.

I've wanted to learn how to make water ripples in Studio and your tutorial made it very easy. Thank you :)

Here's a small crappy test render I did just to see if it worked

  • I found that tut interesting, too. Another water deformer I'd like to see are wakes and flowing water around a solid figure, like a rock or someone's legs.

...for a "crappy test" that looks pretty darn good.

and I do to. I think the word "good" understates it really.

curious to know if you rendered that with iray?  Beautiful piece of work :)

  • IceCrMnIceCrMn Posts: 2,114

Thank you all for the kind words :)

Yes, I did it in iray, It only took about 10 minutes from start to post.I only let it render to 100 iterations on a tranparent background (that was the crappy part, I thought it looked a bit rough around the edges)

  • I think Issue 15 is now my Favorite issue, it was like you made this issue with me in mind or just for me, perfect yes wink

  • Awesome publication. Don't know how I missed this till now. Issuu is a fantastic platform. I've used it a couple of times back before my 3D days. Daz Creative is now in my subscription stack.

Thank you for this issue, which was great. :-)

I also, for the first time, used a deformer successfully. That was one of the... "Whoa, I wasn't aware it could do that, and even more, that I can make it do that!" moments. Will there be a chance of more "lessons" on the deformer tool? Like, using it on the surface of a sofa/matrass to make it look like someone is sitting down? What if I wanted to make that drop with square ripples instead of circles?

  • Awesome magazine. I'll have to try the ripples soon. smiley

This is a fabulous magazine with a wealth of information, but it will definitely become my favorite when a tutorial for creating shaders both for 3delight and iray is added to it :)

Is there any possibilitie to read about the contest and submission rules aside from the page on facebook? I really love the magazine but this facebook thing is not mine and will never be.

  • Anyone who share a DS releated written tutorial via DevainatArt or another way should think about to publish the tutorials also via DS creative. You'll get more users, who read it and it doesn't get lost in hundreds of new publishes at DA. Just a suggestion.

Just wanted to say many thanks for the Tutorial Card!  That is a really great reference.  Please keep updating it as new tutorials are added.

I really liked the post-work tutorial in Issue #15 - some very nice ideas, and the Ginger Mckee spotlight - really fun pics there :)  The Small Talk wall is a cool idea, but can you change the font to something easier to read?

Also should I email one of the DS Creative staff if I had a question regarding one of the tutorials or should I try to contact the author? Specifically I wanted to ask Lucinda Atman about the last part of their cool hole-making tutorial from Issue #14 :)

Something new this month - advertisements!

I enjoyed the articles and art showcase. Thanks for continuing to publish this for Daz users. And (in agreement with MelanieL), thanks for now including the Facebook holdouts in your contests.
