Is there a way to make a storm in the ocean with 4 water spouts

I am attempting to make a scene where a boat is in the ocean during a storm with spouts and waves. Is this something that is easily produced in Bryce or Carrara or D|S 4.9?

Well waves are relatively simple... Clever use of the terrain editor will allow you to make varying wave sizes and depths. Add a good height controlled water material and Bob's your uncle.

Water spouts are slightly more difficult but I'm sure possible by using some of the techniques used to create a tornado, but I can't remember off hand which thread they were in. Maybe someone else could help point you in the right direction for those.

Attached below is an example of waves though these may be small for what you want, making bigger ones is just as easy.

I seem to remember that Orbital did a tutorial  in one of the Challenge threads.   Remembering which one is the difficult part.

It was a spin-off from the Storm challenge
