      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve had a number of bad references that were mainly under my presets or scenes directory that I wanted to remove. I had hoped that following this tutorial: <span><span id="youtube-kA0hgvYsYTs"><span><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=kA0hgvYsYTs#t="><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/kA0hgvYsYTs/0.jpg" width="640" height="385" alt="image" style="border: 0px;" /></a></span><span></span></span></span> that they would be taken care of. From what I can tell those pointers to assets that no longer exist are gone. But the tree for the Daz Connect directory is no longer there. The directory is still saved to the currect directory location. I would appreciate any help in this.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m making a house for Daz, and I&#39;m rigging all the windows and doors with bones. I also rigged the blinds with a single bone, just to make them selectable, then I created&nbsp;morphs and morph controllers to open and close them, and rotate the blades of the blinds.</p>

<p>Anyway, some time this morning, I did something that caused all of my bones to move from where I put them. I don&#39;t know if I saved it weird (I did save as a scene so I wouln&#39;t have to &quot;save as&quot; every time), or if it has something to do with my controllers, but all of my bones just magically moved. I started with a single bone, obviously, then I created a child bone for each wall of the house. From those child bones, I created a child bone for each window, door, and set of blinds on that particular wall. This took me several hours because A) I&#39;m&nbsp;fairly new to rigging, and B) I&#39;m working on a laptop with a very small screen. Now, my hours of hard work, which I was honestly pretty proud of, have&nbsp;been for naught. All the bones are still there, but all of my &quot;grandchildren&quot; bones have all run back to their parents, and their parents have jumped to their original Y-axis locations.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any ideas what may have caused this? I tried reverting to an older save of the file, but the bones won&#39;t go back to where I put them.</p>

<p>It might be worth noting that I&#39;m currently battling some serious problems with my laptop screen just randomly going black and having to do a hard restart before it works again, and it did happen at one point this morning while I was working on my house. That&#39;s a whole other story, and I&#39;ve tried a bunch of different things to try and fix it with no luck,&nbsp;but if anyone has any ideas on that, I&#39;m all ears.</p>

<p><strong>UPDATE:</strong> I found an older save (one of the first of my first saves of the day)&nbsp;that had all the bones in their correct places, so that saved me a bunch of time, but I&#39;m still curious as to what I did that may have caused this if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I want to create some simple HD morphs in Blender using the Sculpting tool.&nbsp; When I export the obj and load it in DS using the Morph Loader, the resolution is completely gone.</p>

<p>In Blender, I know I have to use the Multiresolution modifier in order to get good results.&nbsp; But how do I get that work to translate over to DS?</p>

<p>In Blender, there is something called, &quot;Save External&quot; which saves .BTX files, but I don&#39;t know if that&#39;s what I&#39;m looking for.</p>

<p>Yesterday I had bought 3 figures from the Daz store:</p>

<p>Zhi for Kayo 8,&nbsp; Bahar for G8F, and Vanja HD for Victoria 8.</p>

<p>The first figure installed fine and she shows up in my Smart Content folder.&nbsp;&nbsp; The other two didn&#39;t.&nbsp; I did find them in the Content Library and when I right clicked on it and selected &quot;Show In Smart Content&quot;, both of the figures were in lost and found.&nbsp; That isn&#39;t acceptable, so I had tried a few things to see if I could get them to show up in the Smart Content:</p>

<p>Uninstall and reinstalled it...that didn&#39;t work.</p>

<p>Reimported the metadata...that didn&#39;t work.</p>

<p>While I know I can access the character via the Lost and Found folder, I have HUNDREDS of figures and I know I will eventually forget they are there.&nbsp; Further, when I do access the folder from within Lost and Found, nothing is itemized, it is all bunched together in one folder.&nbsp; Meaning the actors, the materials the shapes, are all in one folder.&nbsp; Again, no good.</p>

<p>Not sure what is going on here as to why this happened and why it is refusing to install properly.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I had looked up the artist (creator) on both figures and they are not the same, so I can&#39;t blame the person that created the figures.</p>

<p>So, what I want to know now is how to get the characters out of the Lost and Found folder and put them into the Smart Content folder where it belongs.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Cattail group does not move as a whole?</p>

<p>When I add the cattail group (cattail scatter 5x1)&nbsp;from this product <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/rigged-cattail-reeds" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/rigged-cattail-reeds</a> the group items in the group will not move as a whole.</p>

<p>When I place the cattails into a new group they will still only move singally and not together when I&nbsp;click on the group folder.</p>

<p>Anyone know why?</p>

<p>Then when I&nbsp;try and delete the whole group it locks up Daz...</p>

<p>This product has beautiful, super high resolution assets but it needs lower resolution versions&nbsp;as well, more refinement is&nbsp;needed with this product.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I put 4 duplicates&nbsp;of&nbsp;these cattails in my project and now I am unable to delete them.</p>

<p>When I try and delete a&nbsp;duplicate, Daz freezes up. Like these cattails are a viurus or project killer.</p>

<p>I cannot use my project anymore. Luckily I&nbsp;saved my project which I worked hours on with a different name before I started working with these cattails.</p>

<p>I appreciate the&nbsp;high quality of these cattails but to have them lock up my project and make it unuseable is terrible.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Following a reinstallation of Daz Studio 4.22, I&#39;ve found that the walking animations for G3 and G8 don&#39;t render properly. The animations are jerky and several frames are skipped in the final render. If I place the cursor over the figure in the preview pane, everything is peachy and the animation flows smoothly. During the final render, forget it.</p>

<p>I&#39;m doing this on Windows 10, updated to its most current version; using an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Super; I&#39;ve got Studio set to use GPU only with no CPU fallback as I did before; and I&#39;ve made sure all the required morphs and associated files are installed, too. I can&#39;t contact SKAmotion through Studio like I can with some other vendors, and Cloudflare blocks me from their website whether my VPN is on or off, so I have to ask here. No dice with DAZ and the stock Studio aniblocks for any generation.</p>

<p>Has anyone else had this problem? If you have, how did you resolve it?</p>

<p>A few days ago I discovered that everything from &quot;C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library&quot; has been deleted.The folders and all the contents are gone completely and I cant find any trace even using recovery tools on the hard drive.</p>

<p>This is was years of work and thousands of hours of custom texture / figure content lost.</p>

<p>Content remains in &#39;My Library&#39;</p>

<p>I had updated to the latest Daz Studio after accidentaly clicking the update button.</p>

<p>So I started reinstalling some basic things over the last few days.</p>

<p>Today once again all my content has been deleted.I&#39;m looking to see if another windows program could be responsible but I havn&#39;t really installed anything lately I can think of.</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>It&#39;s the &quot;C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library&quot; thats twice been deleted.I&#39;ll try moving the location for my content to see if it help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, friends! The attached image shows a cube primitive (0.5 m) with a shader applied (specific shader highlighted in the image). Of course just applying the shader to the primitive produces a rather &quot;flat&quot; look, but if I turn up the displacement enough to get the surface to look great, the edges of the cube peel away from each other (due to displacement working as expected, I infer) and therefore the shape as a whole is unusable although each face is really good for my use case.</p>

<p>I feel that I must be doing something wrong here, but I am not savvy enough to know what it is.</p>

<p>In the actual scene that I&#39;m working on, I have multiple such &quot;cubes,&quot; resized into rectangles of varying heights and widths, with multiple surfaces defined using the geometry editor to help with the tiling. But the edge problem occurs consistently whenever I turn up the displacement.</p>

<p>Grateful for any guidance!</p>

I'm looking to buy a new computer soon, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good configuration.

I'm looking for a graphics card with a 4060TI and 16GB of memory. I also want 32GB of RAM at 6400Mhz. CPU I5-14400

I usually need a scene, four clothed characters, and some props when I create.
I pay close attention to the smoothness of operations before the final render, such as importing models, moving models, and adjusting character poses.
I really dislike when the screen freezes up when performing these operations.

I wonder if the above hardware configuration can solve this pain point?]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been trying to resolve an issue with my renders of the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/halloween-forest">Halloween Forest</a>.</p>

<p>It uses the Matte Fog and Ground Fog effects in the Environment Options. When I render it with out-of-the-box render settings, the area above and below ground level render at different brightness, creating a start delineation in the fog (see attached image). If I turn off the matte fog, the dark dilineation goes away. The ground fog does not seem to contribute to the problem.</p>

<p>Is there a way to fix this issue&nbsp;by adjusting the enviornment settings without losing the matte fog?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I tried pro and Itried advanced and it just isnt working. I followed various tutorials but it refuses nto work for v4. Due to my massive V4/M4 library I chose to use the classics. I decided to start with a basic no ear morph as a test before going to the more advanced facial features that I want but stalled at Vicky refusing to accept the new morph. This what it says.</p>

<p>Loading morph a4 No Ears...<br />
No deltas for morph, skipping node.<br />
Created morph successfully.</p>

<p>Why isnt it creating the deltas? do I have it configured wrong or what?</p>

I timed it before I made this post;&nbsp;4 minutes and 16 seconds, from when I pushed the DIM&#39;s start button until I could actually use the DIM.<br />

Is it normal? How can I, apart from deleting items, shorten that time?<br />

(I doubt there is a hardware problem since I have a decent computer.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased measure metrics and have never been able to install it through the download manager. I contacted them through customer support several times about it and only got one response suggesting I locate my serial number for it in my account, and that I&nbsp;should&nbsp;&nbsp;type the sku number into the filter box.bothwhich i had already done prior to submitting a help request.along with each request i submit the purchase order so they know im not just some guy trying to get something for free. I bombarded them with help requests today out of frustration. I always get an immediate confirmation that the help request was received and follow up would be coming shortyly but I&#39;ve been&nbsp;checking my email every day for months... even a year..... and ive yet been able to use what i purchased. Is this just an anomaly or is this something i should get used to when dealing with&nbsp; daz customer support&nbsp;?</p>

<p>Can you please help me with this issue? My characters and all&nbsp; objects in the scene appear gray all the time. In texture view is a dark gray, when I go into NVIDIA Iray view, is a lighter gray, but can&#39;t see the skin color in any case.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m running Daz studio 4.22 in a macbook m1 pro with ventura 13.6</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Does anyone here use the product Dial Fusion by bitwelder? I have used it in the past without issue, but I recently changed my install location, and now when I try to run the script it locks the Daz3d app. I checked my log and it seems to be building the UI and just get stuck after successfully loading some of the UI assets. Not sure what to try (aside from reinstalling, which I&#39;ve done a couple of times).</p>

<p>I opened up every file in one of the prop downloads I distribute and found no table of ordered triplets defining where vertices should go - no mesh data.</p>

<p>If there&#39;s no mesh data in the downlowd, how can users load the prop and see a prop defined by a mesh?</p>

<p>Open up an .obj and you can see the mesh data.</p>

<p>Open up a .duf file and you can&#39;t find any mesh data.</p>

<p>Whre is it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hopefully, someone else has run across a similar&nbsp;issue and can&nbsp;suggest some possible other&nbsp;things to try.&nbsp; I have read several threads here about OmniHair issues, but my issue seems unusual.</p>

<p>On my&nbsp;Alienware Aurora R15 Win 11&nbsp;RTX 4090 desktop, my hair products with OmniHair shaders always render black no matter which color&nbsp;materials&nbsp;I apply.&nbsp; (e.g. products &quot;dForce Nordic Knots Hair&quot;, &quot;dForce Holo Hair&quot;, &quot;dForce HS Ursula Ponytail&quot;)</p>

<p>I updated my old Dell&nbsp;RTX 3060 Laptop&nbsp;with the matching Daz&nbsp;&amp; Nvidia driver versions, copied the same&nbsp;scene files to it, and the hair colors render&nbsp;correctly.</p>

<p>I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Daz app, resources, &amp; NVidia drivers:&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
	<li>Daz 4.22.0.16 Pro Edition (64-bit) [on Win 11]</li>
	<li>deleted &amp; reinstalled Default Resources for DAZ Studio 4.22+ via DIM</li>
	<li>installed and rendered with both&nbsp;the NVidia version 555.99 (06/04/2024) GeForce Game Ready Driver and Studio Driver</li>
	<li>verified the &quot;OmniHair Root-Tip Blend&quot; shader and its .duf file are available (Ursula Pontail uses this shader)</li>
</ul>

<p>I&#39;ve cleared the Daz logs and looked at every line after loading the hair onto the figure and after rendering.&nbsp; The logs show no errors or unusual messages.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve included a screenshot which shows the Nordic Knots hair on a stock G9 figure</p>

<ul>
	<li>with the Acquatic Blue material applied</li>
	<li>and Surface panel open showing&nbsp;the root/tip/glaze with the blue colors</li>
	<li>the hair still renders&nbsp;black in the spot render (same was true in the viewport w/ Nvidia Iray Draw Style&nbsp;and a full render)</li>
</ul>

<p>Any suggestions would be appreciated.&nbsp; Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I think this falls under technical help for content, but please let me know if there is a better place for this discussion. I recently bought a set of hair from Daz (<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-fringe-benefits-hair-for-genesis-3-and-81-female" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-fringe-benefits-hair-for-genesis-3-and-81-female</a>) and for the life of me I can&#39;t get it to work properly. I should have guessed something was off when the title said &quot;Genesis 3 and 8.1 Female&quot; (though the site lists Compatible Figures: Genesis 3 Female, Genesis 8 Female, Genesis 8.1 Female). The issue, however arises that the hair doesn&#39;t really fit properly or act how I would expect for any of those figures. For G8F and G8.1F the hair comes off as uncannily wispy and doesn&#39;t move floodly with the bodies as other dforce hair does, for G3F the hair doesn&#39;t move with the figure at all unless manuall moved. When I tried to auto-fit the G3F hair to G8F to see if somehow that would magically do anything, it just set without asking to adjust to the figure as G3F hair typically does.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve attached an image of the hair on the default G8F figure and the promo of the hair--the results are relatively the same for G8.1F. There are certainly some dials to manipulate but none led to the fringe being any fuller</p>

<p>In all fairness, I got this free with a coupon, so I think I&#39;ve gotten my money&#39;s worth, but I just wanted to see if anyone had suggestions for how to make this hair more in line with how the promo looks? Any help is appreciated.</p>
