      <description><![CDATA[<p>So after the hassle that was upgrading to the latest version, I&#39;ve just found out a couple days later that my entire library is gone.</p>

<p>Everything I had in My Documents. My scenes, the free stuff I downloaded from ShareCG, super hard to find assets, hundreds of works in progress and all the hard work I&#39;ve put in using DAZ over the last year, deleted without warning and without my permission.</p>

<p>Months of hard work gone in an instant, when my job relies on the characters I design in this program.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello again, having fixed the lantern issue I am almost done with my pet project character and I have noticed that the armor I bought for him does not line up and part of the helmet protrudes through the cloak hood, these are both from the same set by the way.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/wildenlander-hd" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/wildenlander-hd</a> So I am wondering how to prevent that section of the helmet from protruding through the cloak hood, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m using G8F to render a really hi resolution 4000x6000 image. It comes out great except for a few transparent pixels scattered around the final image. They become really obvious when you zoom in. You can see them in the attached image, at 1200% zoom, near one finger nail but not the other one, and randomly on the skin. I rendered on duel 1080ti GPUs. In the log file I see a few divide by zero errors and RGB profile errors. The image converged to 98% after about two hours. I tried various settings and levels of filtering and nothing helps.</p>

<p>What can I can do to get rid of them?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello everyone I recently started using DS so I am SUPER NEW, currently I am trying to get the swing of things and am in the process of completing a pet project. I have gone through tutorials and forums online but since I am still new I am having trouble figuring out what my problem is. So I bought a couple things off the shop to include&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/22119/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/22119/</a> which the only reason I wanted this file was to have my character hold a lantern. My character is a genesis 2 male and I have found the material of the lantern but can not figure out how to add it to his hand. First off I could not find this in the smart content tab which I was under the impression I was able to do because in the intsall manager this file has a check mark next to it. Secondly I found the file after typing in winter in the search box of the content library but everything from that file is a material and when I hover over the lantern the file path it does say people/genesis2female/clothing etc etc. so I figured I could only spawn this lantern on a female, I spawned a genesis 2 female, and still cant spawn the lantern. I do not know if this helps but these lanterns are preset materials as well, when I was trying to find a solution I noticed people were looking for help creating and fixing preset materials although I am not exactly sure what that means. Any help will be greatly appreciated and if you need any more information I will do my best to find out that information for you.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>At the moment I use my C drive for all my Daz stuff. However I&#39;m running out of room, which I&#39;m sure has happened to a lot of you guys. I&#39;m going to buy an external hard drive, but my question is this: should I continue using my C drive and just move the zipped folders from there to the external after unzipping and installing the content to clear some space, or should I move all my Daz stuff to the external drive and use that for everything instead? If the second option is best, is there a way to tell Daz to use the external drive instead of the C drive that it automatically uses?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Let&#39;s say the material loaded is with a tiling of 1;</p>

<p>I want to change the tiling to 2, but leave other settings the same, and there is no way in advance of knowing what these are.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve used tiling as the example, but there could be other variations - hopefully they work on the same principle.</p>

<p>I&#39;m presuming it can be done. :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had all of my content library on an external drive.&nbsp; When I installed the external drive I moved all of my content library over to that drive.&nbsp; The drive croaked after 7 months and I lost my entire library.&nbsp; I have a new external drive (I don&#39;t have enough space for all my content on my laptop).&nbsp; But, the entire library structure was on that external drive.&nbsp; Will DIM create the right folders?&nbsp; Studio itself is installed on the main drive so the program itself is still intact, its just the library I need to re download.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 records were repeated product downloads.&#39;</p>

<p>Grateful for any thoughts as to how I can solve this oddity.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have the latest version of LAMH but it wont load.</p>

<p>First image is the setup in IM to load...they are both selected and then I click Start Queue</p>

<p>Second is after the IM runs...if fails to load one and the other is &quot;loaded&quot; but shows not files.</p>

<p>The only manual I can find is for Version 1.5.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any help?</p>

<p>Update: after playing around some I have gotten this far, but cannot edit anything and not getting the tool bar. see last&nbsp; posted image...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Experiencing high memory usage after update to 4.9.4.117 Pro (64-bit). Genesis, genesis 2 and 3 figure will load at between 3 to 4 GB of ram usage. Genesis 8 and V4 figures sty around 1.5 GB. i do have 24GB of ram but this is really kind of high. its very hard to render multiple figures without killing my machine. Anybody else experiencing this memory issue. it also doesnt matter if ot has any morphs applied. i have tested all figures running the stock figure.</p>

<p>I&acute;ve installed the new version&nbsp;4.9.4.117 of Daz3D and I have the following problems.</p>

<p>1. Daz will not render with GPU</p>

<p>The render dialog opens for a second or so and close automatically then and nothing happens.</p>

<p>CPU rendering is working.</p>

<p>Used GPU: Titan Black with&nbsp;347.88 driver</p>

<p>I have two instances of Daz installed. The new version&nbsp;4.9.4.117 and&nbsp;4.9.2.70.&nbsp;4.9.2.70 is working without any problem.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>2. How to use the new power pose for G8F</p>

<p>If I use the power pose with G8F only the old power pose without the new setting options opens. I`ve watched serveral videos on youtube but in most&nbsp;videos the new power pose is automatically loaded in other videos it seems that you have to switch to the new power pose options somehow but I can`t find out how. Example&nbsp;<span><span id="youtube-iccqS4z60W8"><span><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=iccqS4z60W8#t="><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/iccqS4z60W8/0.jpg" width="640" height="385" alt="image" style="border: 0px;" /></a></span><span></span></span></span> at 19:39.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During&nbsp;an install session with Install Manager,&nbsp;I clicked on a couple of the icons to see the ReadMe files that came with the models. From what I can see, they are all gone! The pages are there, but there is no content other that some navigation links.&nbsp;I know that DAZ was in the process of reorganizing the ReadMe file archive, so I can only assume that they shifted some directories aound, which would make the individual page links inoperative. Does anyone know what DAZ is up to, and when this will be fixed?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t get my 3d FaceGen output loaded into DazStudio as a morph etc.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried the FaceGen advice to point the output to a different folder but the Genesis 3 geomtery it looks for is in a cloud folder so can&#39;t be used apparently.</p>

<p>Likewise I&#39;ve tried to put it in a local folder and point DS 4.9 to that. But no luck.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve unsinstalled and reinstalled. Got DS to search for new content etc.</p>

<p>All to no avail.</p>

<p>At the moment I&#39;m feeling a bit annoyed that I&#39;ve just spent &pound;110 on a product in Daz3D store that doesn&#39;t work out of the box. But I shouldn&#39;t be surprised it rarely does here.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t mind the odd tweak here and there, but the user files and help files are non-existant (how many wiki entries are missing for DazStudio?)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>We had a power failure, so I shut off my secondary computer. I have a big UPS.<br />
Got the &quot;Windows is shutting down&quot; screen, but it never shut off.<br />
Four hours later, the UPS finally ran out of juice and stopped feeding the beast.<br />
Now when I power it on, the monitor doesn&#39;t show anything, as if it&#39;s not connected.<br />
I tried the on-board graphics, as well as the Nvidia 960 hookups. Nothing.<br />
Power is working, hard drive is spinning, no output to screen at any stage.<br />
But the monitor shows which port it&#39;s hooked to, HDMI or VGA. Works fine with nother computer.<br />
This isn&#39;t a vital computer, it&#39;s the one I watch videos on. I just don&#39;t want to buy another if I don&#39;t have to.<br />
Anyone have any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since there has been a great deal of discussion lately related to saving character morped figures as objects, and then re-importing them to re-create them on new generation figures, i was wondering if this was possible : taking an object file of a real scanned human being, and importing it using the same methodology. i plead ignorance on this subject, so forgive me if it seems a silly question. thanks in advance for any answers!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks to information I found on these forums, I know&nbsp;that a pair of inexpensive 4-gig cards (e.g. 1050s) won&#39;t pool their VRAM and allow me to render large complex scenes that take more memory than either card could handle by itself.</p>

<p>So I made the stretch and bought an 8-gig&nbsp;1080 GTX, and find I&#39;m still facing some pretty sluggish render times even though a&nbsp;scene might&nbsp;weigh&nbsp;in at well under 8 gigs. This is especially true when light is bouncing off water or other reflective surfaces. Now I&#39;m wondering if a &#39;helper&#39; card (again, I&#39;m looking at 1050s) would be a useful sidekick. I understand that the extra 4 gigs of VRAM wouldn&#39;t be used, but am I correct in assuming that the extra CUDA cores <em>would</em> be used? If so, it might be worth spending&nbsp;a few&nbsp;extra coins to speed things up a bit.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been wondering, if an object in a scene that&#39;s not visible in the render, say, directly behind the camera. Will that object still affect the render time? Should I delete all objects that are not currently visible?</p>

<p>If those objects do affect the render time, is hiding them with the &quot;visible&quot; option just as good as deleting them alltogether or is there even the slightest difference?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I realize that characters like DAWN can&#39;t be translated to V4 that easily because of the extra hip area body part.&nbsp; But can Poses for Generation 2 or Generation 3 Daz characters be used in Poser on V4 or V3?&nbsp; My understandding is that they are weight-mapped, but the basic body parts have the same names.</p>
