      <description><![CDATA[<p>Recently I installed Daz 3d, with the intention to prepare a figure based on the genesis 8 character.<br />
I made the character ready in Daz, following this tutorial:<br />

<p>When imported in c4d all looks fine. Only in c4d, when I zoom in the face, the eyes are not smooth, they have sharp edges.<br />
In my Daz preview they looked smooth. In the attach you can see the difference between the preview of daz and c4d.&nbsp;</p>

<p>My plan is to control the eyes in c4d, like in the tutorial explained.</p>

<p>Is there any way or trick to smoothen out the eyes?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I think I have messed up my Daz Studio settings somehow.</p>

<p>I was running 4.9 and everything was working well, but I had been experimenting with settings.</p>

<p>Now, when switching from Texture mode in Viewport to Iray rendered mode, it is extremly slow to switch the viewport over. The progress bar cycles nearly 5 times. Orbiting the camera works fine.&nbsp; But if I switch back to Texture mode, then back to Iray mode, it again takes 60-90 seconds to draw and the Progress bar cycles 5 times.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using Photoreal mode.</p>

<p>Nvidia GTX 950 for my monitor only.</p>

<p>Nvidia GTX 1060 for renders.</p>

<p>I tried updating to version 4.10 but had the same issue.</p>

<p>I then trired to do a Clean Install (though I&#39;m not sure I accomplished that), but still have the same issue.</p>

<p>Any suggestions appreciated.</p>

      <title>IRAY or DAZ-MATERIAL glitch... Metal flakes repeating patterns not seamless.</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Lately, I have noticed that my &quot;Metal flakes&quot; materials all have a checkerboard or grid-like repeating pattern.</p>

<p>If you increase the flake-size, you can see where the issue is. It is clipping to a cube frame, instead of drawing the vectors across the overlap, like it use-to.</p>

<p>This results in an uncontrollable grid-like pattern on any surface with the metal flakes. (Horizontal and vertical lines).</p>

<p>It was my understanding that the flakes were designed to be 100% uniques per each of these &quot;cells&quot;, however, now all cells seem to have lost that unique origin per grid, and just repeat the same pattern over and over, from 0,0 (Leading to the same corner drawn over and over again, instead of one contiguoius vector-pattern.)</p>

<p>Making them smaller helps a little, but defeats the purpose if you make them all so small that they just look like a solid surface when rendered. Anyone have any suggestions for a quick fix?</p>

<p>This is just the !Uber material... Not sure if it is just that material where this is happening... They may have messed with the shader settings and broke the metal flake... (Daz essentials) did just update. I am not sure if that is one thing they updated.</p>

<p>Attached images shows how LOW I have to go, just to make it unseen, with flakes so microscopic, they can&#39;t be seen, it just becomes a solid color, essentially.</p>

<p>The next few show the pattern exists on every size higher, which it shouldn&#39;t exist at all, it is not supposed to be a repeating pattern at all.</p>

<p>The last two show where the &quot;error&quot; in the pattern exists. You can clearly see the &quot;cut line&quot;, where the vectors stop drawing and do not overlap, as they should. If I pulled-back a bit, you would also see the repeating pattern, per grid, which it should also not be doing.</p>

<p>I remember, when I was playing with this before, that there were TWO vector layers. One was large, like this, and the other was small, like the middle one. Each had a setting that could be adjusted, so you could not see any repeating patterns, even when it didn&#39;t have repeating patterns. (It was more like a microscopic noise, sub-surface setting.) I am just not seeing that second option anymore. Everything just modifies this single erronious pattern. The pattern doesn&#39;t even change. It may as well just be a static JPG or PNG.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just bought Aiko 8 and Gen 8 morphs for my Gen 8 figures and installed them through the Install Manager. However, only the Gen 8 Female figures are missing this &quot;data&quot;.</p>

<p>Uninstalling and reinstalling wouldn&#39;t work, since I think it doesn&#39;t even have the data in the first place to install it completely.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I downloaded some files from different sharing sites,&nbsp; Renderosity and ShareGC.&nbsp; Being new to Daz and slightly computer retarded i am looking for help on how to get these downloads into Daz for use.&nbsp; The files are zipped so i am really at a loss how to do it. &nbsp;</p>

<p>when i go to my downloads and select the file for SchoolSkirt it lists the following&nbsp; _MACOSX flie folder and SchoolSkirt file folder.&nbsp; Since i am not using a MAC i assume the Schoolskirt file folder is the one i need to move.</p>

<p>Do i move the entire file ? &nbsp;</p>

<p>Opening that file gives me several other folders,&nbsp; MyLibrary file folder, DS Store which is a Ds Store file, a read me text document file which isnt usefull or at least not to me and a file for JPEG image.</p>

<p>Do i move the MyLibrary file?</p>

<p>Opening the MyLibrary file lists the following files,&nbsp; data, people, runtime and another Ds Store file.</p>

<p>Do i move one of these if i havent moved one of the previous files?</p>

<p>Now the next question is where do i move it to?</p>

<p>the one tutorial i found was incomplete and probably geared to someone with a little more computer smarts than i have but if i understood it correctily it said it goes somewhere in</p>

<p>Documents &gt; DAZ 3D &gt; Studio &gt; My Library. &nbsp; or do i need to open My Library and place the file in data or scenes or does it go somewhere else entirely?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi to all, I&#39;m a neophyte when it comes to 3D.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been playing with Daz for a little while, learning many things along the way but I still have a long way to go.</p>

<p>Lately I tried loading items purchased from another place (by vendors who are on the Daz store).</p>

<p>After manually installing them in my library folder I thought I was good to go but the items appear as big grey blocks when I try to load them and I get a message about missing files.</p>

<p>One item is a car the others are clothes.</p>

<p>On the other hand, poses that<em> </em>I installed manually work fine so I don&#39;t understand what I&#39;m doing wrong.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can load V4 from the Poser Runtime directory in DS, and it runs this DSB I guess, which starts the Powerloader...which is a nice (what morphs to include) menu.</p>

<p>...but I am moving almost 100% away from using the Poser Content lib, but I still want to run that PowerLoader to load V4, if possible?&nbsp; Is it possible to run a Powerloader from the Daz format library?&nbsp; I tried moving the CR2, DSB and other stuff in there, but it does not run.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Recently I picked up a project I had abandoned a while ago. I started calling up the file I had been using and several f them are now missing their texture sets. Then I found several different items that were missing their meshes even though their textures where loaded... In several cases, when I tried to find the textures manually, there wasn&#39;t even a folder where the texture should have been. I also have several &quot;Catagorized&quot; products, that when I started putting the catagories together, the meshes were there, and now the catagories are empty, and I can&#39;t find the item even when using file explorer... Something messed with several files in my Daz Library... All installed with DIM</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Anyways, I&#39;ve heard this sort of thing happens sometimes... I just don&#39;t really want to redownload all 162GB, and was wondering if the DIM had a check to verify download, or at least a redownload all button? Anything so I don&#39;t have to manually download each item.</p>

<p>I&#39;m tearing my hair out a little bit.</p>

<p>Earlier&nbsp;this evening I had my &quot;Initialize Photoshop Bridge&quot; in the main menu of DAZ like usual. Then when I reinstalled the plug-in so it would work in the new Photoshop 2018, it vanished.</p>

<p>Since then, I&#39;ve reinstalled it about a dozen times. I even did a manual install with the full file without DIM. The Photoshop plug-in is now working, but DAZ has nothing under the main menu.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When I check the folder, the script and DLL are&nbsp;there...</p>

<p>Any ideas?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After a few months of fighting off the etherium miners, I was finally able to break through the wait list on Nvidia&#39;s website and snag a 1080ti. Now I&#39;m building a proper machine for 3-d modelling. In my old system, all my content was thrown into a single folder, C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\My Daz3D Library. This includes contents from Daz, installed through DIM, and from other sites, installed manually. But now, I&#39;m starting with fresh, empty, drives. I&#39;d love to hear your recommendations for the best way to organize content, including using more than one Daz library folder.</p>

<p>This will be my storage setup:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Drive C: will be a 500Gb SSD, with the OS (Win 10 Pro) and applications, like Daz.</li>
	<li>Drive D: will be a 1000Gb SSD. I thought I would put the most used content there, in one or more Daz library folders, and my active projects.</li>
	<li>Drive E: will be 4Tb HDD. I can put infrequently used content there, and older projects. (And non-Daz-related stuff)</li>
	<li>Drive F: isn&#39;t a drive at all. It&#39;s a FreeNAS server I built last year. I can back up there. Maybe I can load Daz zip files directly there (as opposed to my local HDD) and install them from there.</li>
</ul>

<p>Anyway, I have a clean slate here. Before I start filling it up, I&#39;d like to make a good plan for keeping things organized. Thank you for your advice!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve run into this problem before a couple of times but have not been able to isolate the cause, it seems totally random.</p>

<p>As you can see from the attached render one of the figures is transparent. I tried reloading the scene, restarting, rebooting, also reapplying the skin.</p>

<p>If I disable the motion blur the skin renders just fine. Both characters are Genesis 1 using the DS default shader, the one to the left using the skin &quot;mode&quot;</p>

<p>and the one with the problem used the metallic but I changed it to skin which made no difference. I also reapplied the default shader just to be sure but no cigar:(</p>

<p>There are no error messages whatsoever.</p>

<p>I fixed the render using the spotrender tool and disabling the motion blur so that is not the problem but I had some animation in mind and motion blur</p>

<p>is kind of crucial in this case,and I can&#39;t spotrender hundreds of frames.</p>

<p>Anybody? Is there a workaround or trick to get this done? Has anyone else had the same problem?</p>

<p>The lightning was Uberarea lights for ceiling spots, ds shader spotlights above the pooltable and UE2 ambient occlusion with soft shadows+ the RR3 reflective light by Marshian.</p>

<p>Rendered in progressive mode: raytrace depht 2, pixel samples 12x12.</p>

<p>I&#39;m on an Imac using DS 4.9.70 IIRC, can&#39;t check now as I have a render in progress.</p>

<p>Any tips would be much appreciated, thanks!</p>

<p>My solution:</p>

<p>Saved out the pose shape and skin, fitted all clothing and body hair&nbsp; to none. deleted the character, loaded Genesis 1 and applied the pose, shape and mat, refitted clothing</p>

<p>and body hair and hit render. It works now. Before all this I copied the skin from the left side character and pasted onto the right side one, still transparent.</p>

<p>Then I moved the left side one in front of the window and thought it might have something to do with the window transparency but he rendered ok and the other guy was still transparent lol,</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since I am doing more and more animations these days my main computer is always busy. I am planning on getting a second PC just for Rendering. However I do not want to blow bank in doing so.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I currently have an NVivdia GTX 980ti in my main rig. Its ok, but I would not mind doubling the power.</p>

<p>Do you guys have any solid recommendations for a two GPU setup that will give me about 6.000 Cuda Cores and not break the bank?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I have a bunch of characthers and scenes I made in Daz 3 and 4.02. What is the most efficient method to get them usable in 4.10? I&nbsp; want to use the characters in some complicated scenes that I can hopefully render on a cluster of GPUs via IRay.</p>

<p>I see a lot of conflicting information and I am totally confused at this point. Where do I start?</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know if anyone has had this problem with this product I bought,</p>

<p>But, when I insert a aniblock or animation, it doesn&#39;t display on the Animate2 timeline.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The object is moving, but I have no reference or aniblocks below.</p>

<p>Has anyone else had this problem, or is this supposed to work like this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello.</p>

<p>If I export a default G8F obj model, and load it by Morph Loader Pro without any modification, then there will still be some small changes. Why this happen? I guess it is caused by the digit precision of obj file? Is there any way to avoid this?</p>

<p>Also, some product (for example <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/slinky-suit-for-genesis-3-female-s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/slinky-suit-for-genesis-3-female-s</a>) provide body morphs that do not affect the clothes fit to the figure, how are these kind of morphs implemented?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I really like Gail for Genesis 8. But I wanted to try my new purchase of Legacy V4 UVs to Genesis 8. It is really set up to be a simple procedure. I used the Uber environment 2 in 3Delight, and used the Uber shader on the hair and arches. The V4 product is Tamesin Modern Muses. I did a small bit of morphing on the face but none on the body. It looks like the jagged patch is where the geo graft areas are in the Legacy UV product.How can I fix that in the render? Post work smoothing on another layer doesnt work, and neither does clone brush. Rendering done in 3D, because in Iray, the face is a hideous black mask.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had a hard drive failure and I got everything up and running EXCEPT I have TWO copies of the runtime folder. One version is under user PUBLIC and the other one is under my login. Thus taking up twice as much space as needed. Can I removed one of those folders without messing anything up? Is so, whch one?</p>

None &quot;add to shoping cart&quot; icon ANYWERE.&nbsp;&nbsp;From my knowleage i paid all my stuff, i didnt spam anything at forum ect.... so i don&#39;t think my account is suspended. <p>I am having issues with the lighting in DAZ.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I use Arrah lighting but the figure is dark and the parasol way too light and looks odd.</p>

<p>Any ideas how I can get the lighting right on this figure and outfit.</p>

<p>I have tried applying the low res and using a spotlight. neither work.</p>

<p>One month ago, I bought a Gigabyte 1080ti Aorus Extreme edition. I put latest drivers 391.01 and started rendering. At first everything was working properly. But as the days were passing my card started to have problems during rendering. Most of the times it stopped working and I was getting a message like this: &#39;Your driver 391.01 stopped working and restored successfully&#39;. It was getting worse every day and then I couldn&#39;t even do dforcing, especially with non-dforced clothing items. Now only about 3 out of 10 renders and dforcing attempts are successful. I upgraded the drivers to 391.24 but I still have the same problems.</p>

<p>I tried my card in some games as GTA V or even a little cryptocurrency mining and no problems there. It seems that it is only Daz&#39;s problem.</p>

<p>Do you have any suggestions about what to do?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, maybe I&#39;m doing this wrong.&nbsp; My understanding is that, if I have certain settings enabled,&nbsp;I&#39;m supposed to have a distant-sky&nbsp;sort of image appearing behind all the scenery if I&#39;m, say, in an outdoorsy sort of vista and the scenery and props are not completely filling the entire field of view.&nbsp; I have gone into the Render tab, selected Render Settings, and under the Environment, I have Draw Dome turned to On, and when I mouse over the little downward-pointing-trangle under Environment Map, I see a picture pop up that shows I have an image named something like DTHDR-RuinsB-500.hdr there, and I see a sort of blurry image that looks like some brownish, uneven walls, some blue sky and some clouds.&nbsp; But when I render the scene, all I see is bright WHITE in the distance behind all the trees and ground I have rezzed in the scene.&nbsp; I&#39;d tried loading one of the other HDRIs from a search for HDRI done from my&nbsp;Content Library tab, but the all-sky HDRI I&#39;ve loaded from that then drastically changes the light scheme in the scene, so I quit back out of the scene without saving that change and reloaded the scene from the one saved out previously.&nbsp; I just want to have something other than empty alpha off in the distance!&nbsp; I.e. I want&nbsp;something like&nbsp;blue sky and clouds way out there.&nbsp; Am I missing something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used to use Deformers a lot, in the days before dForce, but now I want to use it again I can&#39;t remember one thing. How do I enhance the colours of the intensity dots? I have great difficulty seeing them in the usual way. I know I found a way to sort out this problem but darned if I can remember. I apologise for making a simple request like this, it isn&#39;t something I&#39;d normally do. Normally I&#39;d just look it up on a Forum, but this search machine is enough to drive you to drink.</p>
