      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m about to give up, but I really don&#39;t want to....</p>

<p>I reimaged my machine, and as usual when I do so, I backup certain appdata folders so I don&#39;t have to reconfigure anything.&nbsp; (just a preface)</p>

<p>I grabbed DAZIM and installed everything as usual, nothing special - then I launch DAZ Studio.&nbsp; Splash screen shows up as usual, then the main UI shows up, but is instantly frozen.&nbsp; The spinners on the library are not moving, nothing is happening.</p>

<p>After a bit, Windows asks if I want to close it (unresponsive).</p>

<p>I tried rebooting, same thing.</p>

<p>So I uninstalled, cleared all related appdata folders, manually cleared the installation directory of remnant files, deleted the DAZ registry keys, everything I could think of.&nbsp; Did the same for postgre CMS. Rebooted, reinstalled - same thing again.&nbsp; I&#39;ve reinstalled probably 5 times now, trying different things.&nbsp; Nothing seems to work.&nbsp; Any thoughts?</p>

<p>EDIT: Also, I tried using procmon to see what was happening, it looks like it&#39;s trying to use the CMS, but locking up maybe.&nbsp; Not sure.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>While working with <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/pretty-base-next-generation-for-genesis-3-female" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/pretty-base-next-generation-for-genesis-3-female</a>, I have come across a strange behavior that I would like to find a way to stop.</p>

<p>With the Pretty Base NG body shape applied, if the Nipples are dialed up, the head of the figure is reverted to the default G3f shape.</p>

<p>I am unable to find any reference to a dependency between the dials, and I am at a loss to explain the behavior.</p>

<p>If anyone else has this product and can confirm the behavior, that would be a start, but ultimatley I would really like to find a way to fix the problem.</p>

<p>edit: While the Pretty Base Next Generation (SKU:45259) shape is applied, (from People, or Full Body + Head) dialing up the Nipples morph causes the head of the figure to revert to the default G3f shape. When just the PBNG body shape from Full Body is used, the head seems to be having the difference between the head shapes re-applied, swelling it beyond the default shape.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! I&#39;m completely new to anything connected to rendering and working with 3d models. So I&#39;m really sorry if I ask a dumb question or something that was answered over and over. Tried to google with no success.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here&#39;s the thing. Several times I saw people saying something like &quot;I always turn off CPU rendering in Iray&quot;, &quot;Don&#39;t forget to turn off CPU&quot; etc.</p>

<p>What if my CPU actually renders faster than my GPU?&nbsp; Should I use it then?</p>

<p>I tested and CPU&nbsp;is actually x1.5 faster than my toaster GPU. What are the drawbacks in my situation? Are CPUs the last resort measure only and can&#39;t handle rendering for too long and tend to die fast? Should I use it or should I avoid using CPU at any costs?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I wanted to check the Iray preview in my workspace, and I hit the brightness thing next to it, and now I can&#39;t see anything in Iray preview, it&#39;s phenomenally bright. This is the button next to the adjustments for if you want texture shading, cartoon, wire, etc. When I put it to Iray, it is messed up and I don&#39;t know how to fix it.</p>

<p>Of course, being Daz, there is no help within the system at all for addressing this. Please help me, thank you.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,&nbsp; I create a mesh and add a material in Blender 2.79.&nbsp; I import it into the latest version of Daz Studio.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Under Surfaces, I select an image for&nbsp;Difuse.&nbsp; The color displays but the actual grain does not display.&nbsp; Nor does the bump when I add a Bump map.</p>

<p>This occurs when the mesh is imported as .dae, .fbx, and .obj.</p>

<p>Does anyone have suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I know this isnt Daz3D Related, but we all deal with Cards quite a lot so I was thinking it would be a good place to ask.</p>

<p>I bought a GTX 1080Ti 11GB DDR5 about 8 Months ago. I just ordered another one a couple days ago. Same exaxt model, from the same seller. I noticed after installing, that the card didnt show up anywhere. Yes I had the bridge adpater connected. Pluged in to my PSU. Both the 8 Pin and the 6-2 Pin were plugged in. Everything was as it should be. (To my knowledge)&nbsp; I updated my driver. And nothing changed. I installed factory setting driver. Nothing changed. So I though. Maybe this is a bad card. So I took out my older one. The one that works. And installed the new card, in the same slot. Now that one shoes up. So then I thought. Uh oh. Maybe the lower slot is bad? So I took it out of my top slot. And installed it directly into my lower slot. I fired up my PC, and it works just fine. So, its not my cords.. Its not my slots. Its not my drivers. Its not the cards. I dont know what else could be causing the issue.</p>

<p>i7-5820k 3.3Ghz 6-Core Proccessor</p>

<p>Asus X99-A Motherboard</p>

<p>64GB DDR4 Ram 2133Hz</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m not even 2 months in with Daz3d, so my insight is very limited. All i have bought are Genesis 8 females, items, poses, morphs etc, but when i roam the store i see the previews and they are wearing Genesis 3 clothing or hair for example, but the storepage will say it&#39;s only compatible with Genesis 3.</p>

<p>This confuses me a bit so i wonder what is going in these images. Is it compatible or not? Does it require something special for it to work? Cause sometimes i see something i like or i could use really well, but i don&#39;t have the required base character for it to work according to the storepage.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;ve been wanting to do comics and other such &quot;art&quot; pieces. One thing I decided I wanted to do is some vampire stuff. Aswell as some action oriented things. The options for blood/wounds is surprisingly sparce here, so I tried to make due. I&#39;ve started by using this:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/wound-makeup-artist-iray-for-genesis-3-female-s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/wound-makeup-artist-iray-for-genesis-3-female-s</a></p>

<p>I got it because of the prospect of being able to move the wounds around the body to place them how you like. This meant I could use say for example, bullet wounds as makeshift vampire bite marks. Below shows what ended up happening there.</p>

<p>For some reason when rendered, the marks were displaced. This is on G8 and the product is for G3, but, from what I can tell, there is no G8 alternative. Which really hampers things because I really don&#39;t want to have to go backwards and start using G3 for stuff, after I&#39;ve already spent months building a G8 catalog. So, does anyone know if 1: I can make this product work correctly on G8, or 2: Have a good alternative? It&#39;s kind of important that I be able to place these wounds and the like where I want, rather than just a static immoveable thing.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi folks. I&#39;m having a really bad day due to this issue. Spending a very long time sculpting the face of my character, I was finally content with the result. Saved it and started using it for all intents and purposes. When I woke up the day after, I decided to work on my project again but when I loaded my scene with the figure in it, the face shows up in a very distorted way as you can see in the image below. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this since it is also same in a scene I&#39;m trying to build and I have no means of accesing the original figure working on a different computer that it was built in. (Yeah lost the original save file on this computer due to Win10 rollback. Thank you opendrive for saving the scene at least)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Everyone I hope someone can help me. For sometime now ive been having trouble with using my files in DAZ. So I uninstalled everything and just let everything install in the default location. My other files seem to be fine but my Genesis 8 Female and male are not being recognized. So let me explain what is happening in more depth.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When I try to open the female model and male model this is what comes up (Could not open file:/Peaople/Genesis 8 Female/Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf File does not exist.)</p>

<p>So I right click it and choose (Browes to file location) and it takes me to where all my genesis files are. The genesis 8 female and male have their own indipendent file. If I open either the Female one or the Male one and click on the Duf. File it opens up Daz with the model there, however I am not able to apply clothing of hair or poses anytime I try to it Says (Would you like to save before closing scene)</p>

<p>Is there anyway that I can make Daz recognice the file so that it may open up and I may be able to use it and apply stuff to it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>EDIT SOLUTION: I solved my case by lowering the stock overclock on my graphics card. Hopefully this helps someone else having the same issue.</p>

<p>Hi.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve made sure to uncheck CPU from Advanced Settings in render, so the only thing checked is my 1070. Even when doing a simple scene with a model, a couple lights and some clothing, the render will speed through until about 80% and then crash to CPU. I specifically bought an 8GB card to be able to render scenes with it, but this is getting frustrating now.</p>

<p>System:<br />
AMD FX-8350<br />
16GB RAM<br />
EVGA 1070 GTX 8GB - Newest drivers, literally got and installed the card today.<br />
600w PSU (card is 500w recommended)<br />
Windows 7 Ult x64<br />
My Daz library is located on an SSD to help load speeds<br />

<p>Also want to note, while rendering, I had CPUID open and my memory peaked at 87-90% on the GPU. The temp peaked at 59c.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been having this issue for over a month after a fresh Windows install and everything I&#39;ve tried to look up about this issue claim that simply updating the NVidia drivers fixes it.&nbsp; That is not the case for me.&nbsp; I currently have the 398.36 drivers and it is still not working.&nbsp; dForce worked fine for me before on the exact same hardware setup, so I know that&#39;s not the issue.</p>

<p>So, I need the help of someone who&#39;s been using this software a while, please!<br />
Thing is, I&#39;m an amateur character artist, having worked mostly with traditional tools making comics characters, and I have a fairly solid idea as to what I want to achieve when it comes to the amazing realism provided here.<br />
<br />
- The ability to create unique characters with their own body shapes, sizes, hair, in the&nbsp;case of males facial hair.<br />
- The ability to create and manage a decent wardrobe of about 5-10 outfits per character if possible. (Do I have to make individual versions dressed up or can they be dressed easily right before a render?)<br />
- The ability to create and manage accessories such as hand-held objects, jewellery<br />
- To import / export objects from and/or to Maya, if that&#39;s possible.<br />
- To create scenes with assets created the above ways.<br />
<br />
So basically what I&#39;m asking is, what tools/plugins/resources should I be investing in to&nbsp;make the best of Daz3D?&nbsp;<br />
Obviously I&#39;m intending to spend only so much as necessary to be able to create ... stuff. (That&#39;s a technical term, right?)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to export anatomical elements into Zbrush for morphing. I get them there just fine, but I can&#39;t export them back into Daz. I&#39;ve set the resolution to base and the subdivision level to 1 and also tried it at 0. I&#39;ve only tried the G3F so far.</p>

<p>Anybody know how to do this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This RObot is pure awesome! There are plenty of UV maps to tweak. BUt that&#39;s sort of the problem. It&#39;s broken into over 100 surfaces it seems. I&#39;ve eported it for animation and in busy scenes it seems to slow the scenes down considerably. I have to beleive it&#39;s because it has so many material zones. Is there an easy way to combine the 100 or more UV maps to just a handful of UV maps?&nbsp; I&#39;m guessing texture atlas would be the way to go?&nbsp; What is the least labor intensive way to tackly this?&nbsp; An help would be greatly appreciated.&nbsp; Thanks!</p>
