      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am building a new computer and wondering what kind of performance difference there is between the Titan offerings, the 1080Ti and the recently announced Turing RTX architecture. Since, the 2080/1180 RTX (Turing) cards are not released yet I know part of this is just speculation. How does Daz3D and Iray work with the existing cards Titan X, Titan V and 1080Ti?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since there will be a Generational leap in technology here with the RTX series of cards, I have been wondering are the Titan X or Titan V worth grabbing if the go on sale? Is there a significant reduction in render times over a 1080Ti FTW or SC2?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also&nbsp;is the Daz3D Developer Team going to be optimizing for the Turing Generation of Technology? If so how long might we expect to see benefits make it down to us users for this new technology? Would it be wiser to just wait until we have concrete information about the RTX lineup of consumer cards (Which may be months away but rumors suggest they could be coming to market as early as August 30th for the first GeForce RTX cards.)</p>

<p>My goal is to get the best bang for my buck. And I expect that it will be a couple of years before we see any real games that can properly utilize the RTX technology, but how might this affect working in Daz3D? Will we see updates to Iray that utilitize this Real Time Ray Tracing? Should I be eyeing getting an entry level $2,300 RTX 5000? Or will it still be a long time before the benefits of using it can be felt by a Daz3D user?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used a similar program to daz a few years ago so I am not entirly unfamailar with how things work as long as you keep the explanations simple. LOL. Ok, this has been driving me crazy for the last few days. I purchased not a few 3rd party programs on other sites. Basically because I found those sites before I found this one. I am struggling to properly install them in the correct directories. After following the directions I have had a few work perfectly. I have had more than a few not show up in daz at all. I have had one or two show up in daz but clicking on it does absolutly nothing. One, the directory showed up in daz but nothing was in it. Is it possible for some one to as simply as possible step by step decribe the process of where to put what files? Part of the confusion I am having is when I google it, many of the posts are old ones and the file names they mention are no longer the same or where they should be.</p>

<p>Also, is it possible to just install the files into the install manager download folder as I have read somewhere you can. I tried it once but of course it didn&#39;t work. Please, someone have pity on me and take me out of my peronal hell of wrestling with this trying to get it to work instead of creating.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There&#39;s suppose to be a setting for this, and I&#39;ve seen it shown as &quot;Decay&quot; in an older version of Daz, but I&#39;ll be damned if I can find it in 4.10.123 Pro.&nbsp;Has it been renamed to something else, like &quot;Ray Length&quot;? In the past, others had issues with lights not appearing to render as intended, and one of the causes was the Decay value was set too high. I also recall reading in an older post that if you&#39;re using Iray rendering, you want to adjust Luminous Flux for intensity instead of using Intensity. Anyway, here&#39;s the list of the tools I have under Spotlight(excluding the x,y,z parameters):</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I have bought the Wise Wizard clothing and also installed the Dynamic Clothing control to be able to use the preset &#39;Hood Down&#39; in Daz, but I don&#39;t know what to do next. I opened the plug-in and nothing shows up in the window of &#39;Dynamic Clothing&#39;. I select the cloak and click &#39;Drape&#39; and a window pops up saying &#39;No cloth items were active for draping. Please check your selection and the &quot;Cloth actions affect&quot; setting and try again&#39;. I don&#39;t know how to use it. I just want to make the Dfroce preset work for the cloak. Anyone can help me please?</p>

<p>I purchased the ArchDetails_vol.3 product, which is a superbly detailed scene of a patio with furniture and numerous other props. The product loads as a complete scene, with all the furniture and props in place. I can select individual items and move or delete them, etc., but I don&#39;t know how to add an individual prop, in this scene or another. Is there a straightforward way to access an individual item, such as the table or a stack of books?</p>

<p>Whenever I bring in Poser assets into a scene and then save it all as either a Scene or Scene Subset, DAZ Studio always ends up putting a whole lot of stuff into the auto_adapted folder.&nbsp; If, later on, I decide to delete the scene or scene subset, all of that &#39;crap&#39; that was created in auto_adapted is still there.&nbsp; If I look&nbsp;through that directory, I have no idea what stuff is and isn&#39;t still required for my existing scenes.&nbsp; So I&#39;m afraid to just boldly delete stuff in case it&#39;s still used.&nbsp; This seems like a fundamental problem that really hasn&#39;t been solved.&nbsp; I don&#39;t suppose there&#39;s any safe, automated way of cleaning out this directory, is there?</p>

<p>I purchased this RiverSoftArt clothing converter&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/clothing-converter-from-genesis-8-female-to-genesis-3-female" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/clothing-converter-from-genesis-8-female-to-genesis-3-female</a> and tired it once. It worked, but I got other stuff to do and a couple of weeks later I&#39;ve tried it again and this time I can&#39;t make it work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve followed the PDF manual, and set the Output directory as it&#39;s suggested, but the clothings don&#39;t convert successful. It says that failed converterd clothes remain checked on the script and that&#39;s what happens. They don&#39;t go to the Output directory converted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve printscreened the script and the log. Maybe someone could help me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi I wanted to write a script to load an item multiple times and shift into a row or array structure. I have winterbrose script tutorials which tells me most I need to know such as how to move the object once it is alreadly loaded and other general scripting info. However I don&#39;t know how to load an&nbsp;object or figure. That is what code line to use and methods and syntax. I also don&#39;t know what file I would need to point the function or method at to get it to load the figure.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated. I don&#39;t know whether the winterbrose gaggles and crows tutorial actually has this info or a script to do so. I could purchase this if it would help.</p>

<p>I&#39;m sorry if this is the wrong sub for a question like this or if this question was asked before. I have absolutly no background in 3D so I don&#39;t even know what too search for.</p>

<p>As I said I&#39;m a prime example for a noob. I just downloaded Daz3D and it&#39;s exactly what I&#39;ve been looking for. I came across a problem though.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying&nbsp;achieve a certain look and I got it down but I can&#39;t wrap my head around how to export or render it as it always renders a photorealistic version of it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m hitting brick walls left and right here. I need to export G8 figures&nbsp;from Daz to be re-textured (The character&#39;s skin, not props or clothing) in Substance Painter and then brought back in to DS to be posed. Can&#39;t seem to figure out how to get the figures out of DS to correctly set up the figure in SP.&nbsp;Do I need an intermediate like Maya, zBrush, or C4D? I&#39;m trying to do this in a way that allows me to simply change out the textures of the character, and not modify any topology or UVs, since I have no experience rigging custom characters in DS and am trying to take advantage of the pre-rigged nature of DS G8 figures.</p>

<p>Anyone willing to share workflow tips or point me in the right direction? I have had no luck searching an abundance of forums for current information.</p>

<p><strong>EDIT: Thanks to SickleYield giving me a few little facts about the previous pit-falls of working with DS figures in SP, I was able to find a way to successfully bring in a human character figure from DS into SP and was just able to successfully bake&nbsp;out all the additional maps (Except ID) in SP with material zones that are layed out per UDIM, without needing an intermediate in the middle.&nbsp;WOO!</strong></p>

<p>If anyone is interested...&nbsp;</p>

<p>(Unless this was already a known thing and I&#39;m just showing off my noobiness... in which case I&#39;ll just take a bow -- let me know if I should post the how-to?)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As the title says I&#39;m having some issue with these specific morphs from the Evolution Morphs for Genesis:<br />
SCLPropagatingHead, SCLPropagatingHandR, SCLPropagatingHandL, SCLPropagatingFootR, SCLPropagatingFootL doesn&#39;t get registered on the puppetter dots but they work fine in the timeline.</p>

<p>I tried many times, but those specific ones&#39; values doesn&#39;t get registered in the puppeteer dots no matter what. I also checked their internal code but I don&#39;t see nothing that could make DAZ don&#39;t consider them</p>

<p>Someone knows how to solve?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello guys,</p>

<p>I have a RTX 2080 Ti system already (1x) and I find that it is awesome for single scene renders, static renders. If I want to illuminate (max 3 people), animate them at 1080p, 24-30 fps what kind of hardware do I need so that the rendering doesn&#39;t take so long to do?</p>

<p>I&#39;m currently looking at this workflow setup:</p>

<p>main rig (current one with <strong>Ryzen 5 2600 | RTX 2080Ti</strong> for scene setup) --&gt; purpose-built rendering machine with a <strong>2 x RTX 2080Ti&nbsp;</strong>and maybe another <strong>RTX 2070</strong> for a total of 3x GPUs (because last slot is a PCI-e 3.0 x16 at x4 speeds). Would this allow me to render animations in a decent amount of time using iRay, Optix Prime accelerated?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Do I need a monitor for that? CPU doesn&#39;t matter, right? Would a UPS be necessary?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I just want the fastest possible rendering machine for my use case so that I don&#39;t wait days for animations to finish and hate the idea of using cloud rendering (even if it is faster).&nbsp;</p>

<p>I know it&#39;s a lot to ask, but I&#39;d like some feedback and help please. Thank you.</p>

<p>I made a minor geometry change to pants in hexagon to create morphs. I used the transfer utility after converting the obj to triax. I can&#39;t get the pants to fit again so I can create the morphs in hexagon. Is there a tut for fitting the garment to genesis again and will auto-fit work afterwards? thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok this is driving me nuts. I originally installed daz a few days ago. I changed the default installation drive from my nearly full c drive to my nearly empty h drive. I did NOT realize that did NOT automatically change the download file destination for any new content until much later. So imagine my surprise when I see my c drive filling up. Long story short after many problems getting 3rd party content to properly install with varying degrees of success into Daz I decided to uninstall it from my 99.9% full c drive and reinstall daz onto the h.</p>

<p>Now the fun begins. One directory on the c drive(the files in the daz studio) I just can not uninstall because it says there are open files being used by other programs in it. Dam if I can find them. So I go to the installer and change the path to install everything to the h drive. Works perfectly. Except. Sigh. It keeps wanting to try and reinstall the same gd files every time I open the installer up. They keep popping up as ready to download.It also says no files have been installed but they are clearly installed in the daz program. I can only assume it is seeing the few uninstalled files on the c drive and thus trying to reinstall the files I just installed prior. Also,to add excitment to the mix when I go into the installer to change the install destinations under the install tab it has the recommended path. Which of course is to the c drive. But of course it is grayed out and won&#39;t allow me to change it to the h drive. Sigh.</p>

<p>And theres more. Now I am getting the &quot;dreaded &quot; a valid postgrc squ....&quot; message. I had gotten a few times before but rebooting daz always fixed it. But oh no, not this time. it is persistent and constant. I read unistalling it with the installer and reinstalling it should fix this problem. But becauce my installer keeps saying there are NO files installed, I can&#39;t uninstall it. LOL.</p>

<p>I suspect if I could actually remove those few files I can&#39;t remove from c a lot of this could be fixed. I am so freaking frustrated at this time it is making me sick. it&#39;s one problem after another and I spend all day trouble shooting things with varying degrees of success only to have a new problem pop up.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to use the dForce simulation but I get the message &quot;A valid OpenCL 1.2 device could not be found.&quot; I&#39;ve looked around the forums and a common solution seems to be updating GPU drivers but mine are up to date. I&#39;m using a GTX 1060 and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X.&nbsp;Any ideas? Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, so I emmigrated over to Daz Studio from being a lifelong Poser fan. Mostly for the FaceGen function. Now in Poser I really liked making real people morphs...and in Poser I could change Vicky anyway I wanted...scale, body morphs etc, there wasnt anything I couldn&#39;t do. Now DS is highly superior to Poser in the integration of FaceGen...but I&#39;m having a devil of a time changing the BODIES to conform to the real people scale. Frankly 99% of the world does NOT have the idealized proportions of&nbsp; G8 figures. So the question is...what am I missing? Are the morphs there...in the default figure installation, do I need to buy specific Morph packages to duplicate the versatility I had in Poser, or is body shaping just not possible? I&#39;m clueless at this point. Any help[ would be much appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have some wonderful clothing that I use with the dynamic clothing control plugin (purchased plugin not standard) and have relied on it quite a bit but have only used&nbsp;it on and off since dForce came out, trying to give dForce a chance to prove itself. After upgrading to Mojave ( and then reverting back to High Sierra, what a mess) Dynamic clothing control no longer shows up as a choice in the panes at all. Uninstalled and reinstalled but even the free plugin doesn&#39;t show as a choice. I haven&#39;t used dForce much at all due to terrible lag and inevitable crashes of Daz, too much time wasted. If the Dynamic clothing control is no longer an option, I have clothing taking up space in my runtime that are of no use to me. Maybe I am the only one, but dForce just isn&#39;t a replacement for Dynamic Clothing Control for me. If the plugin has been removed entirely, my vote is to please bring it back!! If it hasn&#39;t, please tell me how to get it to show back up as an option in the program again.</p>
