I've been trying to figure out how to export a character for my client. He obviously does not have the same library as I have, and I understand that things like hair assets and HDRIs will not export. But I want the modifications I made, face/body sculpting etc to become a usable figure.

I searched the forums, tried the save as scene subset with everything checked, and it still throws up a lot of files missing on the client's computer.

To be clear, I want the changes baked into the character.

What is the solution to this? Has anyone figured out how to work with a client between 2 computers? Is buying all assets twice the only way?

I've got a computer that's getting a bit long in the tooth; i5-2400 processor, 12GB RAM, Nvidia 2GB GT 730 GPU, Win7 operating system.

It's been a while since I've done any renders on that computer (last was done February 2019) but I never had a problem with doing any renders in Iray on it until today.

Any render I try to do in Iray now results in nothing but a checkered white and grey image. The renders 'complete' in less than a second, regardless of the complexity.

I tried updating my drivers to the latest I could get (391.35) but that did nothing. I tried playing around with the render settings, but can't get it to work with the GPU. I tried restarting the computer.

My current Daz3d version is 4.11.0.383 and seems to be the latest.

I can still render Iray in CPU mode, but it brings my machine to an absolute crawl and is far slower than running it on my GPU. I can also render in 3delight without issue.

The error log shows this, which seems pertinent:

2019-09-19 15:56:36.683 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(302): Iray ERROR - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.0 IRAY rend error: Cannot render: found no usable devices.
2019-09-19 15:56:36.683 Iray Render error: Invalid parameters (NULL pointer).

However, Daz3d still recognizes my GT 730 as being installed in the options and preferences.

Kind of at a loss of where to go from here. The only thing I've really changed for installations or anything since Iray renders last worked was Daz3d itself, likely a few months ago. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to roll back to an older version of Daz3d to test, as there aren't any installers for that purpose.

Anybody know what the issue I'm having could be?

I tried to use GOZ and it told me there was a problem with my installation.

I uninstalled GOZ in DAZ and reinstalled it after a fresh download.

I went into DIM to ensure the path was correct and it was.

I went into ZBrush and did a Force Reinstall of GOZ for DAZ after checking the right path there.

It still does not work.

What should be my next step? What am I doing wrong?

I was hoping to use "RSSY Clothing Converter from Michael 4 to Genesis 8 Male" to convert some old Xurge3D clothing items to G8. Unfortunetly I've run into a small problem. It looks like the script is adding breasts to the clothing items. All the other body parts like lower body (pants), boots, gloves, and helmets are working fine. The problem is the chest area is ballooning out away from the figure.

I double checked and it is, as far as I can tell the M4 to G8M script. I don't own the V4 to G8F script.

I tried converting the item as a coat and as a normal bodysuit both had the same result.

I know conversions are never going to be perfect, but I was hoping for a little better fit.

==Edit===

Nevermind.

I was trying to avoid installing Michael 4 since I don't use him. I went ahead and installed him and tried the outfit on him and it fits the same way so the converter is working perfectly fine.

Hi there, I am going to be using Gen 3 models in Unreal 4. I have made a shirt for my character, and imported it into DAZ. What I need to do, is transfer all the morphs from base Gen 3 to the clothing, including all corrective morphs, so that I can then export the clothing into blender, keeping all of the morphs. I have tried the transfer utility, but it only grabs a couple of morphs like the thigh rotate etc. I need a way to transfer all of them, so they can be exported along with the clothing item. Any ideas? Thanks :)

Not for the first time I've got trouble with the Cart! This is what I did. I wanted the Update for the 4.12. I found it and put it in my Cart, then I noticed I wasn't logged in, so I did so. Now I'm logged in but it says there is one item in my trolley at the top of the page, but if I click on it, it says there is nothing in my Trolley. However, if I go to the Update it says it is in my Trolle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I can't do a single thing about it. I guess I'll have to wait for another update and hope I remember to log in before I do any shopping.

They REALLY need to do something about this Fault. I had the same problem last year and they obviously have done nothing in the mean time.

If anybody has a solution I'd be obliged for their help

Hey,

I'd like for the undocked set of tabs I have on a separate monitor to alway stay under unless I give a 'raise window' to that set of tabs. Sort of the opposite of always on top. That way I can do what tutorials (watching them on the same monitor as my group of undocked tabs) are saying if I don't need to access anything in those undocked tabs because the viewport and the most often used tabs are on another monitor.

Thanks.

It would be much simpler if I could classify them and put the same categories into the same folder.

In Iray, what is the best way to set up surfaces and lighting for the following scenarios? In other words, I want to use models with the simplest geometry possible, dialing in surfaces instead of using UVs when possible, but I want good lighting results.

A: Simple plane with four vertices and one surface (for instance, a wall that has wallpaper)
A1. With texture loaded to the base color.
A2. No texture, using only the surface characteristics as dialed in (is this even possible?).

B: A complex plane with a subdivided mesh of many vertices or a cube/sphere/or cylinder with many faces.
B1. With a UV map (I'm assuming, since you can't apply a texture image to a multi-surface model without a UV map as I understand it).
B2. No texture, using only the surface characteristics as dialed in (I'm assuming this requires a pretty high poly-count model for good results).

I will post a separate thread for the answers as they relate to 3Delight.

The bow automatically fits to her left hand no matter what I do. However, the poses need her to fit the bow into her right hand in order to create the pose with the arrow. I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. Is there a way to fit the bow to her right hand and not the left automatically? Thank you in advance.

I am not typing in the wrong password because I can log on to buy items and such, I can get on the website, I just can not log onto the studio to create characters. Is the server down or something?

Hi,

I have a question. I'm trying to create clothes morph for genesis8 figure. The figure is not in a base position. The figure is in walking position.

I create clothes morph in hexagon and then send it back to DAZ 3D ("send to DAZ studio" option).

The problem is:

Pictures 1,2,3 - clothes morph created in Hexagon and send to DAZ Studio.

Picture 4 - clothes in DAZ Studio without applying morph

Picture 5 - 50% morph apply

Picture 6 % - 100% morph apply

You can see that the morph doesn't look like the created morph in Hexagon. It's rotated and whole clothes is deformed.

What am I missing? Is it even possible to create clothes morph when the clothes is not in base position??

Thank you

Hello,

I have recently started to make clothing in MD. The dress itself is not complicated. I imported G8F (base) into MD in the zero pose. Then I modelled the dress around this pose and exported it to Daz. When I applied the transfer utility, I again used the zero pose. I then applied Dforce and saved the dress. It simulates and without poke through. When I pose the character in a different pose, poke through starts but disappears when simulation starts. It looks like the dress is not autofollowing the character. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for helping.
