In my Daz Studio log file i've got the following error message:

WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(5818): Could not find target property for formula: Genesis8Female:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/Handspan%20Studios/Eryn/FHM%20Eryn%20Head.dsf#FHM%20Eryn%20Head?value in file : /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/Handspan%20Studios/Eryn/MCM%20Eryn%20Eyes%20Closed%20R.dsf
WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(5818): Could not find target property for formula: Genesis8Female:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/Handspan%20Studios/Eryn/FHM%20Eryn%20Head.dsf#FHM%20Eryn%20Head?value in file : /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/Morphs/Handspan%20Studios/Eryn/MCM%20Eryn%20Eyes%20Closed%20L.dsf

I checked the product folder mentioned in the error message above and I didn't find the "FHM Eryn Head.dsf"-file. The lack of this file is a bit annoying, because among others it leads to an increase in loading G8F by about 2,5 minutes. I hope Handspan Studios reads this.

Hey folks,

this is doing my head in. Trying to export out a Daz animation into Blender using the fbx format. Have tried pretty much everything I have seen in forums, youtube videos etc. The best results I get using Blender 2.8 is actually not checking Automatic Bone Rotation (under Armatures) as many have suggested. Have tried all fbx formats from 2010 up.

The issue is, I can get the figure and animation in (even G8 figures - yay), but the figure looks like they are ice skating! Have gone through all options for importing in Blender so I suspect, that it is not Blender.

See a quick vid I did to show skating/slipping of feet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqLAxNnjVCo

Has anyone else encountered this issue with Daz fbx animation?

EDIT: Seems normal in Iray render. So I guess it's OK? Must just be a quirk in viewing as Texture Shaded I guess.

I seem to be having an issue with 2 of the materials sets for the "Flirty Bow Dress Styles."

The dress looks to be UNDER the character's panties, BUT ONLY these 2 materials sets.

The original 2 materials from the dress itself are all red and all black, and they work fine.

And 2 of the materiel sets in the styles expansion also work fine.

But "03 Dress" and "04 Dress" the panties appear on top of the dress.

Why would it affect only 2 of the 6 available materials sets for the dress?

Admittedly I have only checked in the viewport and not tried actually rendering in Iray yet, but this seems puzzling to me.

Some kind of bug in those specific materials sets?

I've tried a few time to get them to fit but if they do anything to the outside of the shoe, or get into a pose that the shoe is straight up and down. to fit in those shoes she would then have to walk on her tip toes. Cinderalla should have such luck. anyway I had no problem in the past two weeks.
My character is on the right, looking cartoon-ish compared to the default G8F. The screen capture also managed to grab some distortion (the line on the custom character's right lower leg). The GPU is an RTX 2020, updated to the most recent driver. I remember this coming up before but I can't remember the explanation or find it in the forums---thanks very much for any help in advance, cheers

So, I'm creating a model of a friend of mine in DAZ Studio, and I decided to try out Face Transfer instead of manually doing it like I always do. The shape and texture came out great, but I had realized that I forgot to zero the face shapes before generating the FaceTransfer Morph the first time.

I generated the textures again with a completely stock head (body stayed the same), and after lightening the skin textures in Photoshop to this person's correct tone, and adjusting the eye moisture settings to match the default Genesis 8 settings (which I had done before successfuly on the first FaceTransfer Attempt, so I could replace the textured ones with other eye presets), now the eyes have the correct iris color, but the edges of the cornea have these weird black edges. Does anyone know what's happening and how to fix it? See the attached image. (Ignore the grain - the iris and everything else is fine, I just didn't wait for the entire IRAY preview to finish rendering all the passes.)

Question about Zbrush scene concept

Hello community,

hope it is ok to ask about Zbrush here.

Background:

I am more and more trying to make content instead of only buying stuff. Had a first success with a leotard in Marvelous Designer.

But now I like to add better hems (or is it called seams?) to the leotard. The hems should have some thicknes to them.

I understood that I need to create the geometry because Marvelous does not export thickened geo in a way needed for Daz.

I could do it in a traditional modeler but thought I anyway need to start understanding a sculpting app.

Finally I got Zbrush.

Started with tutorials but it seems I have a main brain blocker.

The question:

I am used to import a genesis figure in my modeler or Marvelous and take care that it is at 0 position and at correct scale. Then do something with clothing and take care that it is the same position and size for import into Daz Studio. In the end everything fits nicely together.

But in Zbrush I only found a way to import geometry as a tool. Then I need to create the 3d mesh by using this tool.

What I don't understand is, how to handle the scale and position in this case. As it seems to me Zbrush does not have a "scene" with an Y,Y,Z zero point and a scale unit system.

I am sure I am missing a basic concept here. If you know a tutorial that shines light on this I would appreciate to get a link.

What I like to try is:

get the leotard into Zbrush

retopo it (Marvelous geometry is a little messy)

thicken the hems

export it to get it into Daz for further experiments

Hi:

So I realize when we save individual character poses that we are to put the translation on the hip of the character.

My question is: when saving couples poses do you do it the same way, or do you apply translations to the root node instead of the hip?

(SOLVED) Iray Shader Mixer help needed to create tricky PBR Metallicity Base shader

The goal: To create a PBR Metallicity Base (hereafter PBR-MB) shader with an extra color channel. The Base Color setting needs to control either the surface of the object, or the backface. The additional color channel needs to control the opposing part of the mesh.

Let me start off by saying that I'm a Shader Mixer NOOB but, I've spent the better part of today (and about 6 hours yesterday) researching, watching tutorials, searching forums and the Internet, and experimenting. Comments about "spend some time searching" will not be appreciated UNLESS they include a link to an answer to any of my questions. (Forgive my turseness, but I've been searching/learning for 18-ish hours and already wrote this out once, but due to some interesting issues with attaching a file, lost it all. I'm not looking forward to typing this all out again, but I need help from you)

This forum was quite helpful in the early stages, but diverted from my goal pretty quickly and left me with a lot of unanswered quesitons: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/242936/an-iray-shader-mixer-cookbook

This doc was a little helpful, but it's ultimately useless: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/software/shadermixer/start

I found the following image and some closer help here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/246076/any-way-to-do-a-two-sided-shader-material-in-iray

-------------------------------------------------Posted by aaráribel caađo-------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see from the attached image, I've gotten quite a bit closer to my goal by recreating the network in the above image (with some interpretation of the missing bricks), and have a shader with a different surface and backface color. Well, before I added the PBR-MB and Add Weighted Layer bricks, anyway. However, I can't change the colors from a "user" standpoint, and I have no PBR-MB default settings to change things like diffuse, roughness, glossiness, normal, etc. I'm thinking that I need to fill in the various inputs on the PBR-MB brick (not sure where to start there, but it's probably just floats, colors, booleans, and intigers), and I'm not looking forward to that. But, if that's what is needed, then I'll get it done.

My questions:

Do I need to fill in all of the PBR-MB brick inputs in order to see the settings, or is there a simpler way to get default values?

How do I convert the result of the Material-Structs brick to a color?

If I can't, what other bricks have a Surface and/or Backface result of Color?

I'm thinking I'll need to use two Material-Structs bricks (one with surface input to the BaseColor, the other with backface input) and the Add Weighted Layer brick to combine the PBR-MB brick with the opposing face Material-Structs brick.

Am I even going in the right direction?

Thank you in advance for your help!

64 GB 3200 Vengence RAM

My old pc had a EVGA 1050 ti 4GB Video card. I know with my 2080ti plugged in, I am using 16 lanes. Is there any benifit to adding my 1050ti card and using it to run my display allowing my 2080 ti to be used exclusively for rendering? I know adding both cards will drop them to 8 lanes each. Thank you guys for your input!

I just got a super, new computer, (or new Super Computer <grin>) and am in the process of transitioning over to the new machine, but would like to still keep using the old machine for rendering too. The question is, can I use my DAZ content library on TWO DIFFERENT computers? I have lots and lots of content (like, over 11,000 files - YIKES!), and some of it from other sites far and wide, so a mere DIM reinstall won't cut it. I want to continue doing renders on BOTH machines and downloading my purchases to BOTH machines, etc. but am worried that DIM will lose its mind. Is this even possible?

Any advice, or tips? Thread links if already covered?
