      <description><![CDATA[<p>I know this likely has to do with texture rez misinterpretation somewhere, but instead of blowing a zillion hours to trace the exact cause, I thought I&#39;d ask first in case someone already knows...<br />

On occasion, I see these pixellated oval artifacts pop up on the limbs. It really does not matter what skin I use (in this case, I&#39;ve adapted an *ancient* skin from the Victoria 3(!) Momiji character, and before anyone says it, I&#39;ve rendered it just fine in iRay w/o these artifacts before...)<br />
<br />
Question, is there a setting I&#39;m missing in iRay, or one that under certain conditions causes this? Default lighting, default Render settings (though in testing I did turn on denoiser just in case it might have been that, etc.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure if others have had eh same problem but in more than one instance, I get the forehead cracking problem when I use OOT hair props.&nbsp; Sometimes the (0,0,0) trick works but is there something I can do prevent the forehead cracking without parenting everything to the figure and then posing at (0,0,0)?</p>

<p>My figure pose contains unwanted transforms, is there a way to create a new figure pose ?</p>

<p>In Maya I would do this the following way : I would export the skins weight, unbind the skin, correct the transforms, rebind the skin, then import the skin weights.</p>

<p>The purpose of all this gymnastic is that I need it to use DazToMaya plugin. Whenever I try to send my character in maya, the plugin restore the pose and break my model...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Going to finally attempt my first scripting project in Daz!&nbsp;</p>

<p>After finding out that there doesn&#39;t seem to be a better <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/366936/assign-pose-to-camera#latest">current solution than parent to bones</a>, I&#39;d like to create a way to save a camera + pose set for a particular character or group of characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The idea is that I often have different cameras for different poses for the same character. Some poses only work with certain cameras. It&#39;s typically not aimed from a specific bone at a specific bone but just from aesthetic judgment. Currently, I would save a new scene for every single pose+camera. This seems a bit overkill so I would like to figure out how to optimize the workflow. It would be great to be able also to change the costume on the character and be able to easily take shots of each pose/camera (instead of having to manually open each file, apply each wardrobe item, etc).&nbsp;</p>

<p>From a non-Daz specific programmatic perspective, I assume this is just associating global position/rotation of the daz character and camera, with another field for the pose name. (And additional pose transform effects&nbsp;on bones).</p>

<p>Is this possible? Which approach would you suggest?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Anyone got an idea how to save a multipart prop so that the geometry is saved as well?<br />
I have some geometry-stripped props that I created for Poser, but now I want to save them for DAZ. If I do a partial scene save it doesn&#39;t save the geometry. If I do a prop save, it doesn&#39;t save the hierarchical geometry, only the selected root part. Any suggestions please? The additional parts need to remain animatable (doors, windows, handles, etc).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Heres the deal I want to make the camera look seemless going from one scene to another. I know how to &quot;create&quot; a camera, save the last pose in the animation and start a new animation with that saved pose with the same camera angles. What I want to do is make a new animation and put it before the existing one while having the camera flow seemlessly from the new scene to the old one. The same method dosn&#39;t work when trying to put the new scene before an exisiting scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As of yesterday, when I try to open certain scene subsets, they wont load when the day before they did.&nbsp; Other ones will.&nbsp; To be specific, I continuously work on a custom character that I created over ten years ago.&nbsp; I have him in both G3M and G8M.&nbsp; Both versions have this issue.&nbsp; Another character I just recently started on loads just fine.&nbsp; I would hate to loose the character I had for ten years now.&nbsp; I just looked into if my graphics drivers are up to date amd they are and I shut down my computer and turned it back on..&nbsp; Any suggestions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently removed the CMS stuff, because I didn&#39;t like how it screwed up my aniblocks and copied them to two different places making it very confusing for animation. So I uninstalled CMS. Of course I get an error message when I start DAZ saying some features will not be available, yada yada yada,.. not a big deal to me, I only want to use the content library and no smart content.</p>

<p>But now it seems I cannot even do a simple search in the content library or it causes DS to crash. I think a search should be possible without using smart content. I just want to search based on file name, not metadata. So is this normal for DAZ to crash under these circumstances? Is there some way to fix this? Do I need to reinstall DAZ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t have G8 male figures other than Michael 8 which I got for $2.99 a couple of days ago. The reason I don&#39;t have G8M characters is because I would need to buy all the add-on such as morph packs and geografts, etc., which is a very expensive exercise. I did that for G8F but I have so far managed with G3M characters without missing too much, I think.</p>

<p>But having M8, I decided to try to use a G3M geograft (the Meipe gens) on him. I figured that the base geometry is very similar so it might work. It does load and fits fine but the next stage is to run a script which copies the materials to the prop. This doesn&#39;t work because it keeps asking me to select G3 in the scene. I just wondered whether there is any way to make it think M8 is a G3 figure? I remember something about an ID when it came to fitting clothing between generations and wondered whether the same might work but I can&#39;t remember where to find that setting.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey, I got two problems here....</p>

<p>#1: I redownloaded DAZ onto my new computer after years of silence and tried to reinstall my old files through the install manager...and I can&#39;t use it because it crashed when I put my password in. It&#39;s my correct password, but when I put it in, it shuts down immediately, no matter what password I put in.</p>

<p>#2: I tried to reinstall my files manually, but now it gives this error message: Resource error: could not load genesis_3_female.duf. File does not exist.</p>

<p>I&#39;m going insane...someone please help me!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a Two very good cards&nbsp;in my system, and have some very reasonable render times. But after four or five renders, often the render times can quadruple or more. I&#39;m immediatley saving or discarding every image I render so that doesn&#39;t build on the card. But I am finding I have to save my scene, exit out of Daz Studio, and maybe even reboot every four or five renders. (render times on a two character simple scene with old backdrops can increase from 6-7 minutes&nbsp;minutes to over an hour. Or 15 minutes to 2 hours or more.)</p>

<p>Having discovered this has reduced my render time considerably (yay!) but it doesn&#39;t seem like things should be working this way. Could there be something I am doing wrong?</p>

<p>If there is an easier way to clear video cache without exiting and reloading, and even rebooting, that would be great.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>First I have nothing bad to say about Zed0&nbsp;and Bob, thier stuff is top notch. But things go wrong. (Nature of our hobby)</p>

<p>Second, I am not new to DaZ.&nbsp; almost two decades working&nbsp;with it,</p>

<p>With that said, I tried transfering one of my &quot;mashup and modified&quot;&nbsp;Genesis 3 Characters to Genesis 8.&nbsp; Total disaster.&nbsp; &nbsp;The point of this post is not to critisize XTransfer, but to emphaize the importance of keeping a current Library backup.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This was a character with a lot of custom morphs&nbsp;applied and lots of paramater tweaking.&nbsp;The XTransfer Script hung and after a hopeful&nbsp;hour, I realized that it was not coming back. I checked the error log and it said that it could not find a morph from the Olympia package.&nbsp; I checked, and it was installed in the&nbsp;correct location.&nbsp; I shut down Daz3D, rebooted and was going to try again.&nbsp; When I loaded Genesis 3&nbsp;base figure, I got the &quot;duplicate formulas&nbsp;found&quot; error message.&nbsp; Although&nbsp;there are tons of stuff written about this error, I have&nbsp;always found it much simpler and time saving, to restore your Daz library from a backup.&nbsp; &nbsp;So I check the last backup and only two weeks of purchases had occured since then.&nbsp; Not too bad. (EDIT:&nbsp; Note at this point, I should have just restored the Genesis Three Female Morphs folder. )</p>

<p>So I go&nbsp;to DIM, uninstall the the two weeks worth of purchases..&nbsp; &nbsp;(to keep the DIM installed data base in sync).. Restore the Daz Library from back up. Load Daz Studio,&nbsp; make a simple Genesis 3 Scene, then a Genesis 8&nbsp;scene.. All is working.&nbsp; The then I use DIM to reinstall the newer content, and yes, manual copy in the last two weeks of purchases from Rendo.&nbsp; &nbsp;Test some saved scenes, and all&nbsp;loads and no&nbsp;errors.&nbsp; (Only about 12 hours to get back from the disaster.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then I try XTransfer on another saved Genesis 3 Character.&nbsp; &nbsp;After about a minute, it stops processing and just hangs.&nbsp; I let it go an hour and a half&nbsp;before killing it. I reboot, reload&nbsp;DAZ, and load Genesis 3.&nbsp; &nbsp;Duplicate error message is back. I decided I can live with it as it does not really impact the renders.&nbsp; I load base Genesis 8 figure .. Daz crashes.&nbsp; &nbsp;Reboot, try again, Daz works until I load Genesis 8 and then Crashes out.&nbsp; (now thinking why did I try this twice?)</p>

<p>I check the log file and the Genesis 8 is definietly corrupted somehow. I get about a bazillion error messages like this.&nbsp; (trying to load the V7 morphs that did not complete.)</p>

<p>Now trying to figure out if I can restore Genesis 8 only or restore the entire Library..&nbsp; (Entire library takes hours and hours)&nbsp; (Edit: See Below for Update)</p>

<p>If you are using XTransfer, or any other script you ahve not used before, make a back up of your library in case something goes wrong.&nbsp; The caveat is that my Genesis 3 Female has TONS of body shape morphs added to it, (custom&nbsp;body shapes, breast controls, bend controls,.Squish,&nbsp;&nbsp;you name it , I have installed it, and these characters have around a hundred morph parameters I was trying to transfer. &nbsp;Maybe that is breaking it for me.</p>

<p>Make a back up of your Library, it could save your assets.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I initially assumed this would be a fairly common problem after the latest 4.12 release and waited around checking the forum periodically but I can&#39;t seem to find anyone else that experienced my specific problem. Similar yes, but specific no, and nothing that helped them is working for me. This issue only began after I installed the lastes DS update. When I render any object, figure, etc. using 3DL (for those items requiring 3DL) they render completely white, as if there are no textures associated with them. No matter what object/figure, etc. that I attempt to render I can see the textures properly aaplied in my workspace and also when I verify in the surfaces tab. Regarding Iray items, when I render those using the NVIDIA Iray option, the window renders as a checkerboard. Nothing else is visible, unlike the 3DL option where I can at least see the object in the scene, just as white but with no textures. I haven&#39;t changed anything except simply updating to the new version of DS. I verified all of my settings, paths, etc. and as far as I can tell everything is the same as it was before, but apparently not. I am not sure what other info to provide to assist anyone attempting to help me other than the specs below, so please let me know if you need anything else.       <description><![CDATA[<p>OK, so last night a Windows update crashed my PC, and I just got a black screen saying it can&#39;t find my desktop. Tried all the fixes on the interwebs, and the only one that worked was resetting the PC and re-install Windows 10, with the option of keeping all my files, it deleted all my programs.</p>

<p>No Worries, I&#39;ll just install DAZ again... not.</p>

<p>Open DAZ and it can&#39;t find postgreSQL cms. Close DAZ, install postgreSQL cms. Open DAZ - connecting to cms - upgrading cms...</p>

<p>And that&#39;s where it stays stuck. DAZ won&#39;t open. Tried all the fixes on the threads with no joy.</p>

<p>Any advice would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Downloaded 4.12 a few days ago and it is now hanging.&nbsp; Gettiing a lot of &quot;Not Responding&quot; messages and crashes.&nbsp; Windows 10 with 2 Nividia GEForce RTX 2080.&nbsp; Never happened before.&nbsp; Trying to load a scene I worked on before and as it loads assets it becomes not responsive.&nbsp; Also when working in another scene I&#39;d worked in before when I would try to preview it would also go non responsive.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Anyone else having same issues?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just got Jenni 8. The promo pic shows great fibrous eyebrows, nicely groomed, which tipped the sales for me. How can I achieve that in a render? I keep getting some kind of background under and around the fibers, which I guess is supposed to be eyebrow pencil, but I don&#39;t want heavyily penciled eyebrows, I want just the hairs. I have randomly tried different settings in Surfaces panel, but I never get just fibers, the Selector gets a wide outline. I tried the &quot;thicker-thinner&quot; morph for Jenni&#39;s brows morph in Parameters. Doesn&#39;t do much. The Selector for Surfaces tool just outlines a wide area not just the hairs. <p>How do I earn Loyalty Discount?</p>

<p>While it is pretty obvious at first sight --&gt; buy some stuff, I wonder, if there are special products or categories that raise my Loyality Discount.</p>

<p>Is it about spending money at DAZ no matter what I buy or is it about how many products I&#39;ve bought or how much money I&#39;ve spent in total? Is it only DAZ originals that counts or only how many Pro Bundles I&#39;ve got?</p>
