      <description><![CDATA[<p>So yesterday I was playing around and I started getting Daz crashes during rendering. Did some searching and then followed the steps of adding content one piece at a time to find out which piece was causing it. Turns out it was the Delight Outfit for Gen2F, which is kind of a shame since it&#39;s a pretty cute outfit.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>But now I&#39;m wondering what is it about a piece of content that would cause a rendering crash? Also, is there some sort of update for that piece of content that I missed? Is it possible it was due to the combination with other things in the scene (the original West Park set, Ilsa Hair from RDna, Sapphira character from Silver/Jessaii, UberEnvironment2 and a couple UberArea surface lights) and the outfit would render fine in another setting?</p>

<p>I just completed my Scene subset and... I just moved the wanted dress+figure to a new scene, now I imported all back and... realized I have to move the old clothes, Hair, bodyparts to the new figure.</p>

<p>For some reason I could not just use the &quot;fit to&quot; mode, now I applyed the hair again, but why can I not copy the propertys to apply them ? :(</p>

<p>seems like, nect time when I wanna use a subscene to use dforce I should use ALL connected objects :/ because import it back does not work good...</p>

<p>I had this issue already with some items... most times G3 works on G8, but for some reason made the creator this forced to a position or something.</p>

<p>Before the Autofit is complete, they are at the correct position (if I cancel it, it will be the same result as in Image 2).</p>

<p>Then I let them fit and they jump to the forced position.</p>

<p>is there a way to solve this with some clothes with that problem? The person is G8 in the standard-untouched A-Pose.</p>

<p>The socks have a Feet loader script, but I guess because the person is G8, the scrippt will not work :/</p>

<p>I cant get DAZ3D to start.</p>

<p>The script reads &quot;Connecting to CMS...&quot; at the bottom left of the screen and never loads from then.</p>

<p>Ive uninstalled both POSTGRE and then reinstalled the POSTGRE 64bit and DAZ3D opens but with a CMS error. If I install the Valentina&nbsp;POSTGRE DAZ3D dosnt open at all.</p>

<p>What can I do to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong discussion and if so direct me to where I should ask this.</p>

<p>I am in the process of making my first full length animation. I have made many many scenes and I am in the process of rendering them. Some of the scenes I did not test out the lighting first as I figured I would do all that as I got to that scene to render. Also, i didn&#39;t do it because it was the same scene backdrop I had used on other scenes that I already liked the lighting. I.E. the same bedroom scene set up.</p>

<p>Ok heres the problem. About half the scenes in the bedroom when I add the lighting(there is a button in the app/scene that says add lighting. can&#39;t be simpler.) The lighting comes out perfect. You have to turn the lighting off when working on the scene as it&#39;s way to dark to see it with the lighting on. I know, sounds backwards as hell but it is what it is. LOL. Then the other half when I hit Add lighting the colors are dulled out compared to the other scenes but far worse, it is way too bright. So much so it is difficult to see the characters. Now mind you this is the same exact scene, same lighting button and same characters. The only difference is I made the scenes at different times.</p>

<p>Now heres the freakiy thing. I will take the characters from the scene that is too bright and make a group of just the characters. I will delete every thing else in the scene and import the characters to a scene that I know the lighting is correct in when i add the lighting. I add the lighting and now the scene that used to be correct now has the bad lighting of the scene I imported the characters from. If I delete the characters that I imported, the scene remains with the bad lighting. if I reinstall the scene with the good lighting without the imported characters the lighting is correct again. I can only assume something is wrong with those characters I imported. But what? And how can I fix it short of redoing all the scenes over? And if i did redo them over, what gaurentee will I have the lighting will be good?</p>

<p>Ok, I just tried the reverse way. I take the scene with the good lighting and delete those characters. Then I import the characters from the bad lighting scene to the good scene and that actually fixed the problem. Why in the world does it work one way and not the other is beyond me.</p>

<p>I wanted to make a simulaiton with a 0.5 air resistance weight, but then daz3d does just close after hitting the sim. button. I used now 0.15 and that worked.</p>

<p>So... why does 0.5 crash the engine/software?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Dear DAZ,</p>

<p>In the Alphanumeric Products listing, the varrious products are shown as small icons with their name.&nbsp; Each icon has a tiny colored box with it, sometimes white, sometimes blue, red or black.&nbsp; Several icons have blue borders, but most do not.&nbsp; Several have the two sides as a white border.&nbsp; What do these colors mean?&nbsp; I figured out that the blue box means that the product is installed.&nbsp; The white box means that the product has not yet been installed and the green box means that the product is installing.&nbsp; But what about the others?&nbsp; The red and black boxes are content&nbsp;&nbsp;that is giving me problems, as is the content with the white sides.&nbsp; If I knew what the colors meant, then I might be able to fix my problems.&nbsp; If it means anything, I just switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and had to completely wipe the computer and&nbsp;re-install all my programs.</p>

<p>Thank you for any clarification you can give me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My rendering screen suddenly shows behind the main screen and even I select it, it pops up for a sec. and then goes back behind. Until today it always showed up in front of the main DAZ screen and could be moved from front to back with a single tap. Looked for a toggle setting to change this behavior, but can&#39;t locate anything. Been using DAZ for at least 5 years and have never run up against this. Help please, pretty sure it can be controled/toggled from some setting.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m creating a character in which i parented a seprate object to use as the head. the method i&#39;m using to export it requires that i keep the old head intact but have it hidden so it doesn&#39;t overlap the new head. the way i have been able to accomplish this is by going into the geometry editor and hiding the different sections of the head. the head, lower and upper jaw, eyes, etc. that works perfectly. the problem is that after doing that and saving the project. when i open the project back up again everything is unhidden and i have to go back into the geometry editor and hide everything again before the model can be exported.</p>

<p>i&#39;ve been ptting up with this, but i keep making changes to my model bby the day, testing stuff in other programs and it is a hassle to have to repeat the hiding process every time i open the project. is there a way to get the geometry editor tosave the changes i&#39;ve made so when i open the project they&#39;re still there?</p>

I go back to photoshop to resize and reposition the logo, save etc.. back in DAZ, the texture doesn&#39;t update... my only workaround is to close DAZ and re-open it! any clues?&nbsp;</p>

<p><span>I&rsquo;ve searched high and low for an answer in the forums and elsewhere, but can&rsquo;t quite find an answer that either works for me or that I understand (probably mostly the latter XD). <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/327896/saved-pose-can-t-get-rid-of-the-facial-expression">This</a> is the closest I&#39;ve come to finding a similar problem but I didn&#39;t fully understand the instructions for the solution. I&#39;m still pretty new to DS so bear with me...</span></p>

<p><span>I created a custom character using a bunch of morphs for the body and face which I saved as a character preset. Unfortunately, I evidently saved the character with a pose &quot;built-in&quot; to her feet as part of the character preset and only as a morph slider (Not really sure how to describe this). When I zero, clear, or reset the figure or reset the selected pose(s) of her feet, or do any sort of &ldquo;return to default values&rdquo; process, the pose comes back rather than returning to the genesis 8 A-pose. I looked at the bone editor and the feet (which is the only area that I can see was affected by the pose due to saving a &ldquo;wearing a shoe&rdquo; type pose), when compared to the g8f default A-pose, are way outta place. See attached screenshot for the misalignment of the bone. I&#39;ve looked into the Edit Mode of the morph and the Properties Hierarchy and know how to &quot;align bones&quot; but I&#39;m not really sure what I&#39;m doing or how to correct this.</span></p>

<p><span>I&rsquo;m wondering if there is a way to remove that foot pose from the character preset without losing the facial/body structure?</span></p>

<p>But my quick light seems to work not in sunsky only :/ they use a plane which give some kind of light that plane is not visible with sun sky, but with scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all, I&#39;m having the following issue:</p>

<p>I have some (non-Daz) clothing .objs made for a slightly different A-pose (legs a bit closer, arms a bit more T) that I would like to get to work with genesis 8. I lack the artistic eye to sculpt those from zero (for now anyway), but am not averse to learning rigging etc. I&#39;m a relative noob and I&#39;ve tried some of the seemingly applicable tutorials etc, but to no avail for the moment. In addition to Daz, I currently have access to Blender (which seems designed by aliens, but I&#39;m learning) and Marvelous Designer (free trial ftw.). Will consider other software, if necessary for this project. Only limitation is am a mac user.</p>

<p>Current solutions attempted:</p>

<p>1. Marvelous designer (imported obj and genesis 8 at correct size): clothing blows to shreds (apparently the seams are not connected)</p>

<p>2. Using Blender to automatically connect parts (remove double vertexes was the command, I think) and then simulate in marvelous designer: buttons and zippers still pop off</p>

<p>3. In Daz studio, posing a genesis 8 figure to match, baking transformations, transfer rigging, then reversing the pose in the item and again baking transformations: already at rig transfer stage double thickness, crazily deformed sleeves</p>

<p>While I was assuming I&#39;d have to really start learning stuff to fix deformation when posing, I&#39;m already falling flat on my face at the first hurdle. Should I just give up and start knitting, try again in a year or three or is there an actual tutorial for this somewhere? :)<br />

<p>Hi, I have socks here, which i wanna give a dirty touch, but they have sadly 2 Layers Base color 1 and Base Color 2, for the pattern.</p>

<p>How can I easy copy the stuff Base Color 2 to Base Color 1?</p>

<p>I have to do that for 3 areas front/mid/back and that for 3 Layers, Base color, pattern and something more...</p>

<p>Any idea how to do it?.... on big sizes is the editor sooo slow :(</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have some jewlery that I want to pin to my character&rsquo;s eyebrow, an obj file. Now, it&rsquo;s easy enough to just parent the obj to the character&rsquo;s head, which works well for a lot of things. but I want for the jewlery to move around a bit with the character&rsquo;s face. It should maintain its exact shape, but simply adjust its position based on the position of a select group of points on the character&rsquo;s face geometry. Other software makes&nbsp;this fairly simple, but I&rsquo;m at a loss for how to do this in Blender. Again, I&rsquo;m not looking for the geometry to deform with the face, simply to be transformed&mdash;go up and down with the eyebrows.</p>

<p>Any suggestions on how I might do this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been having this problem for some time now and it has made me extremely reluctant to even touch the Genesis 8 female models because of it. I&#39;ve already had to fix my <span>Genesis 3 male</span> <strong><span>Genesis 8 Male</span></strong> model <span><strong>before </strong></span>because Daz Studio decided to inject 3 complete character morphs into it.&nbsp; I just loaded my Genesis 8 male model and it looks like a god damn alien from a horror movie! Which is attached- with all current morphs SHOWN.</p>

<p>My Genesis 8 Female base model is UGLY. Then when I go to apply ANY morphs for any character (don&#39;t get me wrong, there are a lot of good looking Genesis 8 female characters), the model gets even uglier and looks NOTHING like what I bought.</p>

<p>I bought Lana For Genesis 8 Female today. Attached is a screeen shot of her head rendered out. The link shows the product page. Why doesn&#39;t my model look like her? (minus the makeup and other lighting.) Take note of the angular shots; why does my look like a duck and the advertisement photos don&#39;t? Is there something inherently screwed up with my base model that&#39;s causing construed morphs? (if so, how do I find them?)</p>

<p>How is it that my morphs do not look anything like the product of which i bought? Minus the hair, the makeup, the lighting, blah blah blah. Why does my model&#39;s facial structure not look anything like the model of which i spent money on?&nbsp; Don&#39;t tell me it&#39;s because i have extra morphs on; I DON&#39;T. I loaded a base model in, threw the lana head morph and that&#39;s what came out.&nbsp; Can someone please upload a picture of what their base model of Genesis 8 female looks like?</p>

<p>And btw, attached is what my base genesis 8 male model looks like with no morphs loaded.</p>

<p>Am I missing a panel that shows hidden morphs?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m embarking on a project in which I think I&#39;m going to need to use dForce clothing, and I have some n00b questions about it. By n00b, I do mean <strong>N00B</strong>, because I haven&#39;t used it before.</p>

<p>So here&#39;s what I&#39;m trying to do:</p>

<p>1. I have a female character who I want to be able to put into many different &quot;setting&quot; scenes, with many wardrobe changes.</p>

<p>2. I want to be able to &quot;dress&quot; her in a DAZ scene all by herself, in many different wardrobes&mdash;all using the default g8F pose&mdash;and save each wardrobe change as its own DAZ scene (or subscene) that I can then merge into different &quot;setting&quot; scenes.</p>

<p>3. I then want to be able to pose her in the various &quot;setting&quot; scenes, and possibly animate her motion somewhat.</p>

<p>So my question is: In my individual &quot;wardrobe change&quot; scenes, can I run the dForce simulation on the basic pose, and have that &quot;hold&quot; when I later merge that character/wardrobe combination into various &quot;setting&quot; scenes?</p>

<p>I am rendering a scene in Daz3D, and I notice that the texture is sronger and more visible in the viewport; however, in the render, it gets washed out. Also, the eyes are too glosy. I tried to reduce the values of refeletiveness and glossy through the sliders but it did not work out.</p>
