      <title>Partial refractions in viewport.</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Having issues getting objects with partial refractions to show in the viewport.</p>

<p>Specifically I have a combined sclera/cornea surface with a refraction weight map, the surface won&#39;t show in the viewport using &#39;wire texture shaded&#39; unless the refraction weight is near 0.0, when it is set to 1.0 it hides any other surfaces in the eye with either partial refraction or partial opacity (in the textured viewport only).</p>

<p>Is it my GL version doing this, do I need 4.0?, or is partial refraction simply not implemented in daz?</p>

<p>I&#39;d redesgin it, but you can&#39;t use opacity maps with refraction in iray.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After updating to 4.12, EVERY file I have is constantly crashing, DForce is failing repeatedly. Changing light settings is causing the program to crash. Files are becoming corrupt or flat out disappearing. Is anyone else having these issues?       <description><![CDATA[<p>When doing a render, I save the large file to folder I chose but and timy image of same pose is created, I suspect for the render library.&nbsp; How do I stop the time image from being created and I actually couldn&#39;t care less about the Render Library if I can get rid of it too.</p>

<p>Any assistance would be appreciated since I can&#39;t find any settings anywhere that give me the option to stop the tiny image from being created.&nbsp; I looked for an Options menu and there doesnt seem to be one.</p>

<p>I would also like to know if I can change the library files from being in a Windows system folder.&nbsp; I prefer not to use the Wundows folders to save software files.&nbsp; I also see no menu offering me the ability to move that folder or at least designate another place for them to be kept.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Forgive me if this an odd question or has been asked before:</p>

<p>I&#39;ve recently returned to the Daz/Power scene. My experience is when&nbsp;G4 was all the rage, and I have hudreds of dollars in characters, clothes, hairs, etc. G4 items were specifaclly labeled in the description what characters they were compatible for. If a shirt didn&#39;t have a specific morph target, or didn&#39;t fit Aiko 4, then that shirt was not going to fit.</p>

<p>Now coming back with G8. I don&#39;t see morph targets. I don&#39;t see anything. I see Aiko 8 made it, but no clothes say they&#39;re fit her. Does that mean all clothes fit her? Or none do? Is is the same with hair?</p>

<p>Has anyone who owns the Salwar Kameez set noticed an issue with distortion around the hips and thighs when morphs to the hips and thighs are applied to the Genesis 8 female? I am noticing a very obvious fold around the mid thigh area when I change the hip size or apply morphs from various morph packages to the legs as well as if I use a body morph such as Mrs. Tao (see attached images). The product is DForce compatable but even when I run a simulation the fold doesn&#39;t smooth out or go away. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve got a Gen 8 male character where I added lip synced audio in the 32bit version of DAZ Studio.&nbsp; I would like to be able to export him into Cinema 4D and still have the lip synced mouth movements intact.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried FBX, Collada, etc.&nbsp; FBX has been the best so far as the head movements come through, but not the mouth movements.&nbsp; I was wondering if exporting MDD using Animate 2 would work or not.&nbsp; Or if there is anything else I could try that you can think of.&nbsp; Is there a setting that maybe I have missed in the export process?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>edit:</em></strong> I figured it out. Modifying a shell&#39;s UV is not what you&#39;resupposed to do, here&#39;s why.<strong> Read this:</strong>&nbsp;A shell is a clone of the base, whether it&#39;s G8F or her anatomical element. So, export either G8F or her anatomical element as OBJ. Change the UV&#39;s of that obj to what you want. Import the new UV layout back to G8F base or her anatomical element&#39;s base.&nbsp; If it&#39;s her anatomical element, then the new UV layout will automatically show up on its shell. So technically a shell can have multiple UV&#39;s as long as its base figure has those multiple UV layouts loaded. Hope this helps others in the future.</p>

<p>What&#39;s the proper way to export G8F&#39;s&nbsp;shell so its UV&#39;s can be changed and imported back into the figure?&nbsp;I can change the UV layout of G8F itself, but for some reason I can&#39;t do the same with her shell.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s what I did:</p>

<p>I create a fresh DAZ scene.<br />
I load Genesis 8 Female.&nbsp;<br />
I create a new shell for her.&nbsp;<br />
I hide G8F so the only thing visible in the scene is her shell.&nbsp; I even delete the eyelashes.<br />
I set G8F&#39;s <em><strong>mesh resolution</strong></em> to <strong><em>base</em></strong>.<br />
I export the shell as an OBJ using the DAZ Stuio preset.<br />
With the shell selected, I attempt to load a new UV Layout via <em><strong>edit-&gt;figure-&gt;geometry-&gt;load UV set</strong>&nbsp;</em>, but when I select&nbsp;the OBJ I just exported, it says <em><strong>the uv map selected was invalid</strong></em>.&nbsp; I tried using the object sub menu as well, but doesn&#39;t work.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn&#39;t. I have it enabled, it is redering using my Nvidia 1080i according to the log and task manager. But at times, seems maybe more with big scenes using HDRI and emmissives, I will have grain. I love it when it works. Best thing Daz had added. But I&#39;m scratching my head on this. Spent alot of time on the forum looking to see if others have this happen to no avail. So does denoiser fail even if using Nvidia GPU? What would cause this? Would very much appreciate some suggestions on this. Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>HI, I&#39;m relatively new to Daz and have been purchasing a lot of characters lately as I learn to use the software. I do a lot of human anatomy posing, sculpting and drawing and learned that to get the full anatomy of them we need to buythe pro bundles for each generation of Genesis. So I got them for Gen 8 males anf females but my Mika 8 character lacks the materials of her anatomy. Every other male and female figures do have the anatomy materials that I can apply by having the anatomy figure selected but Mika does not have these materials. I went back to read everything that was includded when I bought the character and found out Mika 8 in fact does not have those materials includded while other characters do. How or where can I get the anatomical materialsfor Mika 8 specifically? Any help is appreciated.</p>

<p>I used the &quot;Transfer Utility&quot; tool on one of the models I downloaded from Mixamo.com in an attempt to make it more compatible with Daz. Genesis 8 male was the donor, and now every time I load any g8m-based character none of my morph sliders work. Worse yet, when I reload a scene with g8m in it, the Mixamo model is what shows up (see attached screenshot). I deleted everything I downloaded from Mixamo, deleted all my saved scenes that had g8m in them, I&#39;ve manually uninstalled and deleted all g8m content (including g8 starter essentials) then reloaded them with DIM, I&#39;ve uninstalled and reinstalled Daz. Nothing has worked so far, and I&#39;m at my wit&#39;s end with this. The effect has spread to all my g8m characters and made them non-functional. If anybody at all has any experience with this or something similar, I&#39;d greatly appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.</p>

I am on a brandnew Ryzen Setup with 32GB Mem and a 2070 RTX ..&nbsp; DId i miss a open GL setup somewhere ? Or just a stupid Mistake in the workflow ?&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I stupidly updated Daz Studio from 4.11 to 4.12, mostly because I wanted to try out the new photo to face tool, which is absolute garbage btw. So when that dumpster fire of a plugin failed, I tried to make some new renders. Turns out, Daz 4.12 is just as buggy as I was worried it would be! ;D</p>

<p>Except it isn&#39;t buggy in a funny way, its buggy in a throw-your-computer-out-the-window kind of way. For one thing, I can no longer make renders. Yay!!! A rendering program that doesn&#39;t make renders!</p>

<p>It won&#39;t even display my scene using the Iray rendering engine in the viewport either. It just repeatedly says, &quot;preparing scene&quot; and the little yellow loading bar fills over and OVER again, doing nothing. When I try to make a render, it does the whole &quot;preparing render&quot; <span>[business],</span> then says, &quot;render error!&quot; and stops trying to render the scene. It does this with every single scene I create, no matter how complex or basic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m also now pretty sure its automatically switching to my CPU to try and render the scene, because my computer performance starts to tank to a snail&#39;s pace, even when trying to do an Iray preview in the viewport.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m running an RTX 2060 Super 8 GB GPU, and I have 16 GB of RAM. This is not acceptable, not with my hardware. Does anyone have a fix for this? I&#39;m running the latest Nvidia drivers, and don&#39;t even bother asking me to roll them back, Nvidia has made it such a pain to roll back drivers, its not even doable anymore.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Daz 4.12<span> [is very poor]</span>. They didn&#39;t fix anything, they just added features that <span>[are poor]</span>, and completely borked the program for anyone using a modern GPU. Has anyone had this issue, and do you have a solution?</p>

<p>When I go to re-import my metadata in Smart Content and Content Library, it includes versions of products that include alternate names like &quot;Solaris Cabin&quot; along with &quot;Solaris Cabin Ps&quot; or &quot;HMS Victory&quot; along with &quot;HMS Victory StudioCF&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I could go through my entire product library and sift these out, but that would be extremely time-intensive. Can anyone tell me a better way to do this? Thanks&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is anyone else having the problem?&nbsp; Basically I run a render and its works fine for about five minutes then all of the sudden its completes and 50% to 90% of the render is black with a line going&nbsp;straight accross.&nbsp; I runt he render 2-3 more times and then finally it render correctly.&nbsp; No changes.&nbsp; I have V. 4.12 on WIndows 10 with two GEForrce RTX 2080.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Additonally, running a render and it starts fine looks to be a nice clear render then all the sudden BOOM adds noise and sets back the render 20 mins....renders more and boom sets it back again.&nbsp; What the heck is going on?</p>
