Captain Jean Artemis looked at the folder on her desk. Her orders were clear: Stop the Scrappers from making runs on the planet and taking metals and other valuable commodities.

Few knew that Capt. Artemis had once been a Scrapper herself. Guarding this part of her past meant she had few friends; fewer she completely trusted. Standing, she saw her reflection in the Aero Corps base window. She placed her cap on her head, straightening it with pride, smoothed her hands down her double breasted jacket, her hand resting on her gun in its holster. Could she use it against one of her own?

Looking out, she saw her Catamaran Fighter as it caught glints from the rising sun over the SkyLands. Her mission was going to bring her face to face with her past. She sat again and reached for the folder. She crossed her legs and slumped a bit in her seat and pulled her booted feet onto the desk and suddenly felt like a Scrapper again. Slowly she opened the folder and saw the face of Rudi and the other Scrappers and sighed. It was going to be a long day between a rock and hard place.
