I don't see AI imploding soon related to the the business and industry world. I work for a NC machining company in So Cal, and I am working on completing a chemical plan for compliance to the LA County Sanitation Division Waste Water disposal. We don't complete this, we can't continue to make products in So Cal and business closes.

There are more than 300 chemicals listed in their directories. I had to match our entire manufacturing inventory of approx 120 chemicals, to the county by chemical CAS component numbers and research each one, chemical by chemical to the County and also EU compliance. This would have ordinarily have taken me 1 - 2 weeks (full time) to do by hand.

Using ChatGPT heavily, I was able to finish the entire matching task in just a bit under three hours. AI is too valuable with these types of productivity related situations.

Nvidia is lending tons of bucks to almost all LLMs it's not a susta. IRL, AI is extremely usefull for inventing totaly new molecules and trying to solve high end mathematical conjectures. As for plain simple life I'm not so certain. I tried to get brick and mortar investments ideas I had answers any 

There's a guy named Ed Zitron who's been asking for over a year how the AI is sustainable when it's just the same five companies buying tokens from one another and buying NVIDIA chips using money NVIDIA invests in them.

Non-complaint:  I've taken trips down memory lane in my attic, reading 30,40,50 year old documents for work that I wrote.  Was I really that smart and literate?  Who was that guy?  And my first "art work" was a pen & ink engraving style sketch of the campus at FIT (Florida Institute of Technology, not Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC) in 1968.  That pen work still holds up as half-decent.  Well, at least in my eyes.

I got my tattoos beginning at 45, the most interesting part of my personal growth.  Perhaps there should be an age limit for tattoos?  None before 40?  At 75 a 35 year old tattoo isn't too bad, but a 60 year old one suffers the slings & arrows of time quite a bit more. (I've seen more than one wrinkled blotch)  And perhaps 40 is the person's age when the word "thoughtful" finally actually applies?  And the nurse hanging over your bed at 90, doesn't give a d**n.

Stonemason's containers also look like the actual size of a container. A 20-foot container’s dimensions are standardised in the shipping industry, measuring about 20 feet in length (equivalent to 6.10 metres), 8 feet in width (2.44 metres), and 8.5 feet in height (2.59 metres). Most so called container house products I've seen in the shops are far too wide and that includes today's release which is another that's going to need an outhouse out the back.

Wow!! I bought 128gb of G.Skill Ripjaws DD4 ram a couple of years ago for $658NZ, one stick for $236 and then the other three dropped down to $138 each. That same ram is now unavailable but their 32gb kit of two 16s is $459. So I'm so happy I got mine when I did, my son waited a couple of months and paid $236 each for two sticks. I just wish I'd got a bigger video card when the prices were better...I'm stuck with my 3060 forever I think.

To use a product known for hijacking G8F compatibility base, Gothic Courtyard, the ObjectCompatibility responsible for the hijack does link G8F geometry with a new Compatibility Base (/Gothic Courtyard/GC Statue):

I wasn't fond of them for other people either, until I realized that I just didn't like badly done tattoos. I've seen some that were amazing, done by true artists of the skin. But don't bet on finding one of those. Unless all you want is a blue arrow on your head.

Improvements in hardware, specially GPUs, have noticeably slowed down in the last few generations. Top of the line card 3 years ago is still top-tier today - the 4090 was released 4(!) years ago and it is only beat by a 5090, not even a 5080. And it has more RAM than the 5080 because Nvidia keeps delaying the launch of a 5080 with 24gb. In any case, all big cloud providers are working on their own chips that are more efficient and cheaper than buying from Nvidia.

They'll last less than 3 years, just not due to the cards specs... its because these are just devices running 24/7/365, and they've been rushed and cobbled together to proritize providing as much capacity as fast as possible to meet demand.

Something that's worth keeping in mind is that while training new models is not profitable, running them is very profitable. So it's very much worth it for them to keep replacing any hardware they need to as long as the models are solving any real-world need. And some of them are starting to. I would be surprised if anything improves throughout 2027 at all and I imagine it'll only get better once more suppliers enter the market.

No rollback to a macOS version released prior to the launch of a new Mac. Might be able to do it through some hack, but not at all recommended.

Yeah, I had to delay purchasing a first generation Apple Silicon Mac when DS wouldn't run right away due to Apple deprecating libraries, etc. if I recall. My memory's not what it was, though. LOL

There's already a forum thread on this under the name what happened to 3d-universe's haybilly or other figures, but until this thread gets merged with that one, the short story is that it's not showing because it's been purged from the store.  DAZ does that with artists who leave, to the point where, while items you own will still show up on your product library page, they won't come up in the store search as they are gone forever.  The vendor was 3D Universe, who moved to Renderosity recently, and while it may eventually be re-released over at Renderosity or at 3D Universe's own site, I rather doubt that it's likely to happen anytime soon as a.) it's really old and b.) there are tons of newer products that they're re-releasing at Rendo at the rate of two or three a day and I would think those old stand-alone toon figures are going to be at the very end, which will be in several months at best.
