Sci-Fi Body Suit SF-001: Possible to use on Genesis 3?

Hello Everyone,

I really like the Sci-Fi Body Suit and can imagine all sorts of interesting scenes to make with it, but it's described as compatible with Genesis 2 Female only. I'm a new user so I'm not really sure what would be involved in getting this suit to work on a Genesis 3 Female as well. Are there any utilities available that would help convert it from G2 to G3 and what are the chances that a newb like myself could pull it off?

Any thoughts or opinions would are appreciated. Thanks.

DS (Daz Studio) comes with Autofit built in, you should be able to Autofit the suit from GF2 to GF3 without any extra addons.

    Its quite straightforward to use.

Have figure (GF3) selected in scene load suit autofit box pops up choose Genesis Female 2 in the first box and Full Body in the second and then accept - done the suit should autofit to GF3. if you get poke through (skin showing through the suit) use the smoothing modifyer.

You'll find the Smoothing modifyer -

With the garment selected in the scene tab click on the little arrow in the right top corner with the lines next to it (see image), select Edit>Geometry> apply Smoothing Modifyer, then in the Parameters tab you can choose the item you want the garment to collide against (GF3 in this case) and the amount of smoothing, 2-5 should be enough.

I should have said some things autofit better than others, body suits usually do fine I don't have the item so can't check that on for you.

Sure does. I fit it to v7 using only auto fit and dialed the expand all morph to 10.

  • Thanks Scorpio and thanks AUN for double-checking that for me! I guess maybe it'll be easier than I thought.

Sure thing denonsjunk. There are a couple features that you can use when dealing with last generation (or current) clothing and auto fit. To get rid of poke through, try mesh smoothing like scorpio suggested. You can also use the push modifier or you can always just hide the body part that is having problems with the poke through. In the picture that I took above, her thumb was poking through the suit. Instead of using the expand all dial, I could have just as easily hidden her thumb. Another more manual method is to avoid auto fit and just parent the clothing item to the figure. For example, parent a gen4 skirt to the pelvis of v7. Then you just use the morph dials to shape the skirt around the figure. Obviously this takes more time and patience, especially when posing the figure comes into play. But in the case of items such as skirts and such, it often yields better results than auto fit would, at least in my experience. This method wouldnt be very practical with a full body suit though I would think. Im sure it could be done though.
