I'm not seeing any mention of IRAY or 3Delight. Anyone have and able to advise?
Looking at the SKU, it appears to be an older item; just wanting to be sure.

No Iray
You want to get this pack for the models, not the materials. The models are top notch and work in all kinds of render engines. I have used them in DS, Octane, Iray, Vue, 3Dmax, and Poser. It is a great set and currently for a great price. Simply slap an appropriate shader for engine of choice on it and done. For Iray the default water shader works well.

It'd be nice to have some updated Iray options for the materials, but the props are still excellent and can be used with existing Iray shaders like water.
Done with Iray.
I've bought them already; figured the shapes were worth it. Made a couple of my own and the time taken makes the current price seem worth it. :)
The shapes are very much worth it, and this is one of my prized purchases even though I use Iray. I use it for anything from smoke, slime, blood, water, dust, you name it. (If you want to see a bunch of examples, just ask. ;)
Dust and smoke? For iRay? I'd like to see these, and I'd like to know why I haven't thought of it!!
I'm pretty sure answering this would get me in all sorts of trouble.
It's just a permutation of Fog, and it isn't ideal... for one thing, in Iray, you can't get a good 'chunky' effect out of fog/dust/whatever. However, the real nice thing about stuff like Liquid Pack or Magic of Serpio is that the 'chunks' are handled by the actual object. You can also do some funky things if you fiddle with scale or geoshells to get stuff glowing within fog, although it's hard to get right (you can only manipulate geoshells so far. ;)
The mud/dust kicked up by the tires in this scene are actually 'blood spray,' tweaked a bit and given a dark brown Transmitted look: http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Drive-Faster4-572236388
The smoke from the smokestack and the weird glowy cloud, both are from Liquid Pack (again, tweaked a lot). The glowy cloud uses some goeshell to get the weird effect -- the black part is actually caused by excessive clipping transparent objects, which renderers usually choke on and depict as opaque. This, however, works to creat the effect I want! Yay! http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/The-Travelers-The-Guest-571397278
More 'blood spray' in the form of suspiciously glowy goo accident. http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Leaking-Container-569565122
One of the freefloating liquid shapes given fog effect (SSS at low values) to create a passable 'steam drink' effect. http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Vapor-and-tea-568515874
Wow, you are clever and resourceful!
Aww, thanks!
I really enjoy tinkering with shapes and textures to try to find uses for things. When I was on my very long hiatus from CGI, I found some outlet in MMO games where you could create adventures/content. And you usually had a fairly limited library of content, so getting really creative and turning pots into cannons or whatnot was the name of the game.
Just picked this up and can't wait to use it. I use mostly 3Delight but its nice to know that the shapes will still be usable when I decide to really tackle Iray
And it's worth noting that the same principles apply... you could apply ubervolume to it, I think. You could put crystal/glass/water shaders from various sources into it, meshlights (if you have that), and so on.
