Joint Controlled Morphs tutorial obsolete
Daz has a document "Advanced: Creating Joint Controlled Morphs" here at http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/assembling/tutorials/creating_joint_controlled_morphs/start and all is great until I get to steps 4-6. They changed property editor and I can not fallow because its so different. I REALLY WISH Daz would update their tutorials!!! It's very frustrating to get through most of the tut only to find it incomplete or obsolete. Could someone help me get through this tutorial?
Thanks,

I understand your confusing,
before PE have two sections as it mentioned.
but now DAZ gather them as one property hieralchy.
And it make difficult us to easy drug and drop to set each ERC link.
Now you select your Actor, then open property hieralchy,
it may open all parameter assgined with genesis root.
then you select each node under Bone and extract it.
it may show all paramarater assigned with the bone.
when you make ERC, you need to find each parameter, in this pane. at first.
after that,
select one, (eg Genesis>parameters>JCMyourSholderBendRplus)
tthen drug and drop it under other parameter >subcomponent or controller
which you made ERC link,
(eg Bones>right sholder>Zrotate(bend) > Subcomponent, )
. then set each value of ERC.
I think, you may feel insecurity,, when you drag genesis node parameter,
to another node parameter, and try to set correctly where we hope.^^;
but I could not find another sutiable way. if you find it, tell me please.
it often make mistake easy.
Thank you kitakoredaz for replying. I'm heading off to work this morning so I won't be able to try this for a while. I can already tell that I'm going to have trouble fallowing this because a lot of it sounds like Greek to me. Pictures are worth a thousand words for me when it comes to. If you or anyone else wouldn't mind posting pics of steps needed to complete this task, I would be so appreciative.
Thanks again,
Gina.
Actually I found that the new method is much easier, especially in the time it takes to load everything. The old method took maybe 30-40 minutes to just bring up the property editor. It's instant now. Don't have time to do a step by step, but the previous method you used the editor to drag properties left-to-right. The new method drags right-to-left directly from the parameters after right clicking and selecting 'Edit mode'. So if i had a bunch of JCMs for a morph, I load those in, go into edit mode select all the JCMs I want to add and drag them all under the multiply section of the morph that controls it, then move the other morphs to the appropriate joint. I'm able to link my JCMs up much faster this way.
Hi Male m-3dia
yes, it can load every parameter quick I could not use property editor before, or I sleep when they load all.:)
I needed to divide morph directory to use them.
.
But I do not know, how you drag right to leff from parameters to make ERC directly?
I need select them then drug and drop from top to bottom or bottom to top,
in each bones.
it means you select some or many parameters in hieralcy pane, or, use "show in hieralchy pane"
then durg them?
or you mean you can drug parameter from parameter pane to hieralchy pane?
I know in edit mode, I can drug them in parameter tab, to set path.
but I can not use the way to set ERC. if it work?
if I can understand your way clear, I hope to show pic for OP.
Go into edit mode, select the morphs from the parameter tab holding the shift key and clicking, then drag them into the spot in the Property Hierarchy. You can even set the values, presentation and group location for multiple morphs in the parameter tab as well. (Edit: Select all of the morphs in Edit Mode, then right-click. You'll see the different options you can do from there.)
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I often try the way,, but it usually show me, unforbidden mark,,
when I drug from parameter, them on to anoterh proeperty in hieralchy pane.
so that I could not understand what you told
but if I hold and wait to extract ,, it work ^^b
many thank you!!!!! yeah,,,,
I really tried many times,
to drug from parameter tab to hieralchy,^^;
I need to believe more daz ^^;
So now I stuck two pic,I hope you can understand,,
right click parameter tab, then check on edit mode.
and need to open hielrachy pane, then work as same as property editor.
I arrange parameter pane positon,, (you can do as you like)
left pane (in property editor) = parameter tab edit mode,
right pane = hielarchy pane.
about adjusting delta step value, ERC type, and sub-component, or controller ,
multiple or add,,
these things are clear be written in the documents. ;-)
sorry can not offer perfect guide etc,,,, I need to sleep now ^^;
Then thank you much,, Male-M3dia
I have tweaked and checked about all option menu, in edit mode, and hieralchy pane,, so that I have known,
what I can do in edit mode.
but I could not find to move them easy, in hieralchy pane ^^;
This is a lot of great information and really appreciate the pictures. I'm going to have some time this weekend to try this out. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for contributing.
Gina.
On Daz 4.8 ... I'm only seeing the Property Heirarchy Bones/Nodes ... no sub divisions, 'little triangles' or drop down lists under each bone ... there's no edit mode in the menu tab for this pane ....
How do you get to the properties of the node? XRotate Bend etc...
What is that bone list appearing under? Does it have any accessible proerpties in the paarmeters pane (without Show Hidden checked in the option menu)?
Hi Richard
Thanks for your response. I can't explain it ... I literally closed everything down and took a nap ... and for some reason now ... everything is showing up .. if I wouldn't a posted a picture, I wouldn't have believed me. Thanks again for the response. ... Feel like a goofy noob
Sometimes odd things happen.
Necro-posting this thread instead of making a new one to post this video as a solution, as this post was the first result when I queried "Creating Joint Controlled Morphs."
