assigning shortcut to clear animation figure pose?
Im a bit confused that I cant find the clear animation figure pose listed under customize/actions.
I can find it at the right side were you have activities/menus and toolbars, but noway to set that as shortcut.
So...How can I assign a shortcut of my choosing to the clear animation figure, or isn´t that doable?
I could also have use of creating my own /menu tab with that command available easier rather than going through edit/figure/clear animation/clear figure pose.
Still using daz studio 4.0.3.47

11 days and still no reply..
Please guys and girls, isn´t there anybody out there who knows the answer to this?
Michael
Please don't bump posts. 21st to 26th is hardly 11 days. Also you may get more replies if this had been posted in the DS or Animation forums rather than the New Users area.
We can move the thread, if you would like, to a more relevant forum.
Thanks for the note, I was completly lost and looked att my join dater rather than the actual post done 5 days ago, my mistake...guess I was
frustrated since I am used to so much faster respons on newtek forums.
yes it might be better of moving the post, but then again ...what is the new user category for? hardly a place where newbies can discuss the weather since we obviously has to little experience to help each other, maybe just remove the new user forum or make sure some guys from the daz team checks in and give answers if they can.
Anyway..long christmas holiday I guess, and I will have to wait to get my answer on how to configure a shortcut for commands that aren´t
listed in shortcut menus.
Thanks
Michael
The new user forum is for New Users to get help and ecouragement away from the hustle and bustle of the general forums. ie, as it says in the thread on how to use the New User forum
As you can see we are all volunteers, and we need to find someone who can answer your question. Animation is not normally a topic that springs up often in the New Users Help Forum.
Do you still want me to move this, and if so, would you rather it went into the Animation Forum or the Daz Studio Forum.
There's a .pdf link on this page ... and several other pages which may offer an answer.
Google Search Results
chohole...It isn´t a question regarding animation, it is a shortcut UI configuration issue and question.
But yes you can move it to the daz section...but hopefully it shows up as a recent post?
patience55...
Thanks for links, but yes I could google search myself, but it wil end up in searching and searching without getting proper information
immidiatly.
I have checked some pages of the docs but not finding any answers to it.
I really thought this could/should be a very simple question to answer, is it possible to add the " clear figure animation pose" command to the shortcut keys, or not?
Michael
Some commands in the Customize interface dialog simply will not stick in two places, that means you might not be able to have a COPY of clear animation on your interface where you like and it Still be in the original place. I've not tried it with clear Animation. But if doable the Customize interface is the only place you can do it properly.
Moved to the Daz Studio forum, in the hope it will get more answers. If it doesn't then we will try the Commons for you.
Yes I know you can Google search yourself, but I cannot hotlink the url for the ,pdf file!
If after reading the 'how to' for making shortcuts ... and presumably giving it a try ... I would take it that you might have your answer.
My interest in this whole topic is basically how to get the timeline clear in the first place, shortcut or no. Most frustrating having to close and reopen D/S just to clear animations.
Since the basic "reset" pose is just one click ... and as far as I know the clear pose for animation should be too ... maybe that's just not a feature found to be necessary. I would LOVE a nice clear command "clear the timeline" that actually worked. A shortcut would be the icing on the cake.
To fully clear the timeline to EMPTY, it will not delete FRAMES but they will be empty, do Clear Animation>Clear Selected Items with ALL items in the Scene tab selected. POOF no more animation.
Sniff :-(
Only had one figure, yes it was selected and while the immediate pose would go to default ... the animation was not gone.
I deleted the figure ... loaded in a fresh horse, the previous animation was STILL there.
I tried clearing the time/animation/anything ... nope.
Seems I have to close/reopen D/S in order to clear that thing.
Well that's not right, let me go burn one to the Timeline and check again. I've not did a clear in the new FULL version yet.
Answer : Yes it is possible
Customize DS interface with F3. Create a custom Toolbar if you want ( Mine is called animation below)
Drag and drop actions you want on whatever toolbar and don't forget to enable the toolbar where you dropped the actions
You can also put some custom icons
[Edit] To clear a figure animation just select the figue and do Edit->Figure->Clear Animation->Clear figure
Thanks Takeo.Kensei
Yes..as you mentioned in your edit note...I know about that, and that´s what Ivé been doing as I mentioned,...
edit/figure/clear animation/clear figure pose...but I wanted to map a shortcut for it.
A Note though...You shouldn´t use clear figure as you mention, that will reset the figure shape as well which you might not want, you want to use the clear figure pose..which is different.
Anyway..your post helped me since I could see where you had the command, under parameters clear figure pose..so once I could locate
the command in the action window, I just right click and changed shortcut to C, and now I can clear the figure pose in one fast go with c.
which is helpful when testing a lot of different bvh files.
So the big problem was just to find the command I looked for and where it was located, the case is now solved, so thanks.
Might configure a toolbar later on for it.
I do not know what you other guys are talking about regarding the clear figure pose?, it deletes the keyframes as I can see, so there´s
no need to close scene and reload scene.
Thanks
Michael aka prometheus on newtek forums.
Did some testing this morning.
1. I had missed actually "baking" it to the timeline and that apparently really does make a difference. I had been simply switching over to the timeline which plays whatever is on AniMate's line anyway. So for whatever the difference is, I have made a note that yes one must "bake" to the timeline.
1. Bake it to the timeline. [just switching over doesn't cut it]
2. On timeline, clear animation > clear selected figure [animation appeared to be cleared but pose wasn't]
3. So then, clear animation > clear figure
4. Appears to have cleared everything, indeed it killed the poor horse.
5. Remove dead horse and get another one.
6. Redo animate animations and bake to timeline.
Save scene.
D/S4.6 previous release [i.e. not the latest but the one that has erc working]
Ah yes, It only Clears the DS Timeline. AniMate will not be touched. Did not know you had both timelines loaded.
