Issue with Victoria 4.2 installation with Poser Pro 2012

edited December 1969 in The Commons

Having had some bad luck with a hard drive s week ago so I'm in the process of reconstructing my runtime and put the whole thing into Poser Pro 2012.

I've been encountering this flag on installing Victoria 4.2:

When use with Poser™, "V4 Elite Body Shapes" must be installed to the same directory as the application executable; due to the restrictions on support file locations.

Please select the directory that contains your Poser executable.

Apparently there are newer installer files for the V4.2 base and V4.2 Morphs ++ that solve the problem of installing into the Poser Pro 2012 directory or rather recognizing the Poser Pro 2012 exe. file as legit.

The only problem with that is that I will have to download the whole bunch of V4 morphs, which, is kind of a hassle.

The current file available for the Elite Body Shapes installer raises this flag though so I'm kind of stuck as it doesn't recognize the Poser Pro 2012 exe. as a valid file!

Are there solutions to this?

Run the installer, and choose the DS install option. The installed files are the same, but choosing DS will allow you to install the files where you want without the error message.

Yes, choose DAZ Stuio as the target application, it will install EXACTLY the same files, only it ownt look for poser.exe

Create an empty text file and call it poser.exe, and put it in the folder. Just make sure that it is not called poser.exe.txt. If so, rename it.

    EDIT:

    XPost Wheelman :)
