Is Renderotica safe to order from? They don't use paypal

Is this site renderotica safe to order from? They don't use paypal. Is there any place to get anatomically correct models or morphs or whatever its called for the genesis models included with DAZ?

I use PayPal there - never had a problem. The 3feetwolf products are used by a lot of people here instead of those that come with the Pro Bundles. That's what I've bought for various Geneis 2 and 3 characters.

Warning for those who might be curious: the R'otica landing page has explicit images, NSFW or family viewing.

Yes its safe. I have purchased many products from there. Just set up an account, record your means of payment and shop like any other site.

The only quirky thing about Renderotica is that once you purchase a product your download link expires and you have up to 4 or 5 times to redownload as opposed to your Daz Studio library where once you buy a product you can have access 100% of the time. Despite this about Renderotica, you can save the zip files for in the event you need them again to reinstall for whatever reason.

I typically buy anatomical parts there to enhance the realism of the human form. The majority of the products there are just plain porn trash in my opinion but I nonetheless frequent the site to see if anything new has developed worth buying.

    So go for it!

    Heh.

I haven't tried any of the "products" but just generally speaking some of the renders in the, uh, category seem to leave a lot to be desired. Then again, **I think** people are refraining from posting nice poses, camera angles and expressions because (a) it actually may not increase sales and (b) they don't want their stuff repurposed.

FWIW about the only problem I have ever had on-line is from auction sites, where you are actually dealing with the host company (like Ebay say) and an relatively unknown entity. Most of the fulfilled orders have been pretty good BUT there is a lot of bootleg stuff out there too, I have found. Some of the counterfeit materials are "so good" that it takes me months or even years to realize that "hey wait a minute, there's something about that audio CD that I bought..." Also I have noticed in the business section of the newspaper here that the "porch burglar industry", where people take a swipe at the hundreds of thousands of unattended packages that are dropped off daily by the major carriers, in Canada and the U.S. during the holiday season, is on the rise, big-time... I'm thinking that this may have a lot to do with the numerous items that I never got, but again it's taken me quite a while to figure it out. sad

I'm generally real careful about where and how I post my e-mail address and stuff like that. One time, I sent e-mail to a SE Asian country to inquire about samples of their wares... bingo! Spam from that country - resumes, pharmaceutical, search engine optimization. Then I sent a note to a company in Berlin regarding a local supplier for these peculiar muesli biscuits they made, that I liked. Here we go again - almost INSTANT spam from Germany; lasted a couple of years at least. Then I bought a copy of an obscure Italian movie magazine that had an interview with a 60's actor that I liked -- ho boy, here we go again!

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that any company can be leaky or there can be snoopy people hanging around, and of course international hacking and mischief have become one of the top stories of our time so it really could happen to anybody.

Several weeks ago I was at a wifi hotspot where a row of anonymous cars is routined parked about fifty feet away. Late on this one Friday evening I checked my bank information using my laptop, Firefox browser and wifi. You guessed it - rogue credit card charges the next day totalling about $100. The bank representative at their fraud hotline (had to wait 1.5 hours on the phone before I was able to reach somebody, late Sat. night, heh) voided all the transactions except one, and then started giving me the runaround that included the sentence "the transaction marked PAYPRO (sic) is one that you yourself made." (I had made no purchases all day, and none really on the day before, go figure.)

He continued to say that this $25 "PAYPRO" (sic) thing on my list of charges "was the same as the ITUNES, PLAYBOY ENTERPRISES and DAZ UT" -- um, this would be DAZ in Utah... I didn't know they were affiliated with Playboy, might be an idea though! -- "purchases that I routinely make, and that the companies all use the same nickname and account number, it doesn't really matter, it's all the same thing, you bought the item, you're responsible for the charge."

Holy smoke!  I was happy that they had neutralized most of the charges from this bad day that I had, but still.

I should underscore that this was during a recorded call to a major chartered bank, eg. if this is the sort of mistake that's lurking out there then we're all in trouble. So now I have to escalate a ticket, eg. a hardcopy letter to DAZ, on my letterhead or from my solicitors, to the effect that representatives of this huge bank and their HUGE credit card company partner are saying inaccurate things about them!  Can't be good, and it's time-consuming, eg. whole she-bang... and all because I slipped up a bit in a strip mall with a wide-open parking lot beside a hot spot.

By the way Adam Thwaites seems to focus on anatomically correct model add-ons, and Smith-Micro (Poser) includes a pretty, ah, good penis on one of the male figures when you install their introductory "Debut" DVD in Windows 7 say. And on Renderosity there are indeed things (like characters for G3M and G3F that come with, uh, bells and whistles) that you don't usually see in the more, um, "family" oriented DAZ store if I may put it that way. I have purchased stuff on-line from all of those outlets - no worries, stuff looks pretty good, nothing lurked behind the sale etc.

The other "security" issue I've noticed of recent involved working face-to-face for the most part, with low-income people here in my major center... sometimes stressed or displaced people or folks who have various... problems aren't exactly tip-top with the way they handle (or toss about) their personal information and e-mail. Throw in a few unexpected things like these recent, big current hacking stories (can you say Yahoo?) and it can mushroom into a big problem... but again it's pretty random; the effects of this large-scale hacking that's going on can impact anyone really. You never can tell.

@Roman_K2 regarding "Bells and Whistles" on rendo... no, they don't come with the geograft, just with the texture, like majority of the ones being sold here.

As for a public WLan, they are always sending/receiving unencrypted. At work, we had a security class, and we went to a public hotspot... where the trainer showed us just how easy it is to get data like passwords and stuff from that data stream, or get the entire history of any WLan (public or otherwise) your PC/laptop or smartphone was ever connected to...

Let's just say that the class was an eye opener.

I picked up all of Sixus1's monsters from there (nothing "adult" about those monsters) and never had any CC problems (knock on wood)

    Wow, sobering! Thanks.

About the... attachments for G3M, not sure how you could create body parts that, ah, "stick out" from the main figure with a texture, but anyway. Didn't seek to send folks rushing off to other sites; I was just mentioning how I had seen a quite a variety of content on sites that I have gotten content from, using a credit card or Paypal, without problems. Haven't seen similar, ah, "appendages" in the DAZ store.

I try to keep an open mind... for instance there is a whole lot of doll-like, gingerbread boy stuff in the catalog that I have historically have skipped over -- and then I saw one that I actually liked! So you never know. Also I *am* very open to storybook stuff and "realistic" faeries in general, and the "Hundred Acre Wood".

P.S. The little kiddie-fairy-dolly thing that I want had an igloo and a dogsled... if anyone can help locate this I'd be obliged as I think I typed in words like "igloo" and I wasn't able to make the item come back.

Well, they obviously bought the Michael / Victoria (insert generation here) pro pack, which includes the neccessary props, and then slapped their shapes and textures on it.... Honestly, you just need one pro pack of each gender in a generation to "serve" all your males/females of that generation. Of course, you won't see them as images in the shop due to different policies regarding promo images. But if you check the description, for example for this new character: http://www.daz3d.com/fw-mateo-hd-for-michael-7, under "What's included and features", it lists "

    • Character MAT
    • Anatomical Elements MAT

As for kids/teens, I do understand why they don't come with textures for the gens. Getting/owning the source material alone would get you into jail in many countries. For males, you can work around missing textures using a cutout of texture from below the navel for base colour, and the bump from an adult set for the boys (if you are doing a "kids frolick at the beach without diapers" scene or something like that). It will give the gens the same colouring as the rest of the skin, though of course it won't hold up to close-up scrutiny.

Ok, I missed the part about the pro pack, I guess.

I was just saying that there is a category of little dolls and unicorns or something like that... I would skip over the category when browsing the store... literally HUNDREDS of the things were in the RDNA sale, very annoying (smile). Most of them are "flat" like a gingerbread cooke or it's very cutesy, Raggedly Ann stuff, Strawberry Shortcake - yuck!  Then I found one that I actually liked!  I think I am up to making my own igloo now, in Hexagon but anyway. Tried again to find the dollhouse one... all gone? Less than 100 RDNA items in total come up.
