Digital Art Gallery - artists wanted

Hello!

For quite a while now I do have an own website. I never knew what to do with it, but now I have an idea.

I want to establish a digital art gallery!

I want to fill my homepage with rendered images to view, download and enjoy. The problem is that I do not have so much time to create a lot of renders and I am still not very good at it. So I need some people who are willing to publish their renders on my homepage.

The url is: www.xoechz.at

This is a 100 percent private and uncommercial site (it belongs to me) and there will be no ads, banners or other crap there. I am not sure about the final layout of the site, but I will see and try some things.

Now to the images:

There will be only rendered images. No photography, no paintings or drawings. Any content is allowed, so not like here. You can publish any kind of content on my site (but please no extreme porn or violence or religious offensive things). The images should be in .jpg format, any size is allowed.
What I need is the image itself and a thumbnail. The thumbnail´s max size is 200x200.

I am not sure if this is a good idea, or if it will have success, but I think it´s worth a try. So, if you want to have any of your images on the site, please send me a pm for contact, or visit www.xoechz.at and send me a mail to the adress shown there.

Greetings,

XoechZ

Edit: Of course all the images are published with your name!

As soon as you say " to view, download and enjoy" you lose the interest of most people.

The main reason for using a gallery such as the ones which will eventually be included on the DAZ 3D site, and are already available at other sites is that they protect the intellectual property (ie the images) of the people who upload to those galleries.

Any Gallery that allows people to simply download images with no protection in place is not going to be used by most artists

    Thanks for your answer.

I understand what you mean, but let me explain:

When I say artist, I do not mean professional artists who want to earn money, but I mean people who love the 3D world as I do, who like to create images and who want to show them to the world. Downloading an image is possible in every gallery that I know. Just right-click an image and "save as...". This is possible almost everywhere. For my side, I would be happy if anyone would use one of my images as desktop wallpaper or something like that. But that´s just me of course.

As I said, the whole thing is just an idea.

IT may be possible, but because the galleries state quite clearly that the images are the intellectual property of the artists concerned, then if people are found to be downloading and misusing the images the artist has a chance of getting the abuse dealt with. This is why people prefer to use accredited galleries, attached to large well known sites, rather than personal websites.

There are very few purely professional artists using the galleries on most sites, but most people who do upload images would be very annoyed to find their images being "given away" in any form, or see that other are being encouraged to distribute them as desktop wallpaper. I personally have removed all images from any site that did not offer me this security.

I must also warn you that if people do decide to upload images to your site that would be against the DAZ 3D TOS, if they linked to them here, the links will be removed unless you also protect your site with content advisory filters and an age limit for sign up.

I see what you mean. Copyright here, legal issues there, rules everywhere... this whole world is so frustrating. Ok, so forget it. I will post only my renders on my site. And I will definitely not sue anyone for using my renders as wallpapers. I know so many free wallpaper and gallery sites, so what´s the problem?

I only wanted to give people a place to publish their renders. I´m such a dreamer. LOL.

And you will maybe be surprised at the number of threads that are posted on forums about the sort of site that does offer "free wallpaper" and the number of people who are upset to find their work on those sort of sites.

All I was doing was warning you about what happens.

Ok, thanks for the warning. I think everyone should decide for himself what he wants to do with his renders. In my case I want to publish them and show them to the world. I do not sit here for hours, setting up scenes, tweak lightning and posing, and render the whole thing for nothing. What are you doing with your images? Put them in an folder somewhere on a harddisk and let them sleep in the digital nirvana forever?

Of course everything in the net is unprotected. Just think of music, movies and filesharing. People who are upset that their work was used by others should never have published it. That´s always a risk. But I personally have no problem with that. I publish my work because that´s why I do it. Otherwise I could spend my time with other things.

I personally have a large Gallery on another well known site, I used to have a gallery here, on the old foum, and I have a gallery attached to my own site, but it is not a public gallery as such, and only contains my own renders. On the main part of my site I only use lo res promo images.

Also many people do what bigh and others have done in this particular forum, and started portfolios of their renders here.

Ok, then let´s forget the whole thing. No need for further discussions. It was a bad idea. Sorry.

I would say don't get discouraged if you truly are interested in this XeochZ. People will always find challenges with any undertaking one takes on. Those issues will work themselves out usually if one just plugs away and does what their heart tells them. The main thing is to not use anything in a way that goes against what someone wants and from what you've said you wouldn't do that. Their are people out there like you who are interested in exactly that (not me as much as I do hope to earn money doing this eventually and it doesn't necessarily fit my current plan, but there are people who do.) The issue of people not being able to post links, age requirements, etc.. can all be met with some consideration of not posting anything R rated or beyond until you have an area of a site that requires membership. Anyways, good luck whatever you decide, helping to bring beauty to the world is a good thing :)

I have posted some renders here on the forums, thats all. But this is a bit limiting, because you cannot post all contents (forum rules).

So, what is a good place to publish renders so that they are seen and commented by many people?

I would suggest either Deviant Art or Renderosity. at this moment in time.

Well, I do post here. Here is the link to my render thread: XoechZ renders

But due to the forum rules I cannot post all my renders here, and this forum is a bit hard to find for all non-DAZ users :-)

so you want to do nudes or what - I don't do them myself .
thats why I like it here .

I am highly seeking out a skilled artist out there who'd be willing to spend their time to make personal art for me. This or these artists would be reimbursed for their time and effort guaranteed. I unfortunately do not have the opportunity at the moment to have the time and tools to learn this myself. It would be great but I can't and for that anyone out there who has the tools and time that would do this for me, I would be so grateful. Thanks!
