well, missed checking out yesterday and now cleared my cart. I now have 2 punches. Will a purchase today give me 3 again or will it just bounce down until I buy 3 in a row again?

It'll bounce down a day a time if you don't buy anything. If you do the next three days, you should have 2 punches for 3 days followed by 3 punches for the 4th.

Today is Dec. 7.  The red text at the bottom states that there are tokens expiring in 4 days, 14 hours, minutes, seconds, blah blah.  The pop up info button next to the token count states that I have tokens expiring on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.

The red text is only about the tokens that will expire next while the popup should list the expiration date of all your tokens and it should be right, at least as far as the day is concerned.

The time might be wrong, sometime they were shown expiring an hour after the start of a new 'Daz day', when tokens will always expiring at the start of a new Daz day. At least that's my experience from France.

Yeah, the explanation in the fine print now says "Punches equal the number of days you’ve purchased over the previous three days." Which I am almost positive is not what it said at the beginning of the sale (resetting with one missed day) but is certainly more merciful.

I put in the Wishlist maintenance thread.

Neither of these (^) seems quite accurate.

    • I had 3 punches.
    • Missed a day
    • Had two punches yesterday
    • Purchased yesterday
    • Had two punches today
      • Purchased today
    • I'll check whether I've 2 or 3 tomorrow
      • You'd think 2
        • Except I've had a paid-for AND freebie item in the advent yesterday and today

    surprise

Not so sure. One of the most wonderful memories my son and I had from my assignment in Utah was a Christmas Tree charity event in Salt Lake City in 1979. A huge hall full of Christmas trees decorated and sponsored by companies and organizations to raise money for a charity (can't remember what or who set this up). He was a toddler and was entranced by the decorations as much as I was. I have never seen anything like this since. Hundreds of trees. It took my breath away.

Not quite hundreds, but my family used to go to the downtown (Minneapolis) Dayton's holiday show every year. A whole floor full of animatronics set up in scenes  to tell a story. The whole Santa Bear thing was BIG, but there were various fairytales over the years, and the Polar Express, though towards the end it was just different scenes from Santa's workshop. And after that we'd go through the holiday floors, and there'd be all these sections with huge, differently themed trees (and of course all the ornaments were for sale, so there were tons of of sales displays around them. It was absolutely magical. I feel so bad for today's kids (including mine) that they'll never have that.

PBS did a cool documentary on it, now that it's gone:

...I used to remember going to th Gimbels store in Downtown Milwaukee which themed window displays, which also included animatronics, that were just as nicely done as those of Macy's in New York. One of the "treats" was taking lift to the 7th floor were "Toyland" was located.  The lifts back then had these lovely brass framed glass doors (which let one watch the inner workings of cables, chains. and counterweights moving while waiting).and still had live operators who would call out each floor by products sold there.  All the floors were fearfully decorated and on the front of the building was what was known as  "The Tree of  Lights (see below)

Indeed as kid back then it was magical (even in the "space age" 1960s), as for a while, it felt like stepping into a different  time and place..

If I remember correctly, last year I missed a gift of shaders and was devastated. At the end of the sale, all the gifts came back and I was able to get them. Keep a look out this year and maybe it will happen again?

And I have the habit of checking from top down, then check the forum for what others have highlighted and I might have missed. It happens. Then I look at my cart, how much credit (or cash in the bank) I have and apply tokens. And then I prune, some items go onto my wishlist for March or May sales. But I try to make sure I have checked out before noon here in Denver. I have done that forgot to check out thing and freaked myself out at 9pm or the next day. Not fun.

I got lost in the conversation. Does one of you people live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota?

Many years ago I lived in Minneapolis. I went away for about 30 years, but came back to MN in 2014.

I now live in St Paul. It's a short walk to Como Park.

I'm in the outer 'burbs, been here my whole life. I envy you that short walk to Como... the chance to walk among green growing things in the Conservatory is amazing this time of year.

    Small world :)

Hey if you ever feel like meeting, that would be great.

You know, it's nice to meet fellow artists.

Much appreciate the offer, but my ability to do in person social has hit the sub-basement and commenced digging. Will totally keep it in mind should circumstances change, though. :)

...grew up in Milwaukee WI. in the 50s  - 70s, back when it was still known as the nation's "Brewing Capital" and the "Machine Shop to the World".

    Times have changed since then.

Ironically I ended up in Portland OR which took over the brewing title when the craft brewing craze took hold.

    SilverGirl, I totally understand.

I lived as a hermit for most of my life. Right now I literally don't go anywhere unless it's to a doctor appointment.

I'm fortunate that there is a wonderful community of friends in my Senior Apartment Building. I have around 100 friends.

Of course the downside is there are more good friends who get sick or die.

I've noticed the older I gt the less I'm around people. I'm done with the rush rush hustle bustle. Crazy driving, crowds, waiting in line, shitty customer service, and all the rest of it. Iwould rather be home or out in nature. It is so that I do like to talk to people though, and miss the mornings at the coffee shop talking to friends and meeting new ones, or just talking to a stranger.

I think I'm gonna eat Santa's cookies to try out the naughty list. I've been on the Nice List the whole sale and I keep getting coal! >:[

Picked up https://www.daz3d.com/xi-futurist-city with some expiring tokens to keep the punches going. Some bits look low res but the buildings are modular and would be nice in backgrounds.

Wow. Not a single item in QG I want (that I don't already have). That's a first. And a bummer.

Well thats an awkward day for me:

    - Better than Daz+ - not interested

    - Daily HoliDaz Deals - not interested

    - On the Nice List - already own

    - Advent Calendar - both items are duds, 3rd day in a row :)

Then checked on Rendo and one of the freebies there is also somethign I already own. Been buying too much stuff...

If you don't mind messing with your wishlist, here are some suggestions to un-dud your Advent Calendar.

I've probably said this before. I've decided not to pursue all the various options, whatever.

I will buy something if it interests me. Hopefully I'll get a discount somewhere.

Regarding tokens, there is a glitch with token expirations with my cart this morning, or perhaps I haven't noticed before.

Which count should I actually consider as accurate?

In my experience, the red text is more helpful than the popup. I've lost tokens before when going by the popup deadline, so I always use the red text now. I check that deadline quickly when I make a cart to know when I need to use my tokens and only use the popup to tell me how many tokens i need to use to avoid losing them.

    Thank you!

yep, big dud today.QG pretty not to be liking too.I see maybe oneitem I might buy. The advent calendar is a pass as well. the free items arent too good either. I missed the zoo thing, so the enclosure isnt needed, but it might work. The other thing, that hat, not really something I would use.  Time to check that other store.

That can be a wise plan. Instead of wasting money every day to keep punches that aren't gaining you anything you want, save the money for something you do want.

    Same sad

Also less items, down from 90 to 60. I wonder if that change was this week or last.
