I noticed I haver several older items with apparently no metadata, so they do not show up in Smart Content or under Products it the Content Library. Most of Moonshne's diner fell into that category, though uninstalling and deleting the installer and then redownloading with DIM took care of that. My question is, is there an easy way to figure out which ones these are? I usually keep what DIM downloads, so I have those available. I would like to build a list so I can uninstall/reinstall them. Thanks!

I just want to say a big thank you to outoftouch, Hongyu and Pretty3D, whose clothing items I've been purchasing a lot of recently. In my opinion, these 3 PAs are leading the way in terms of clothing products right now. As far as I'm concerned their names are a guarantee of high quality and I feel like other clothing PAs should take note of the extra mile these guys (or gals?) go to in order to create something special that stands out from the usual crowd. Why do I think this? Well:

(1) I tend to use quite generous body shapes when I render the ladies but I never have any trouble fitting their clothing to my models. Even if there is some poke-through, they usually provide so many adjustment morphs that its very easy to rectify.

(2) Versatility! The number and variety of movement morphs they include are great and so helpful to someone like me who creates comic-strips. Want a windy scene? No problem. Want a scene where someone is getting dressed/undressed? Easy! Their products have so much scope.

(3) Their outfits look really good, obviously.

In the current Genesis 2 sale I just helped myself to the following items, all of which I'm exceedingly happy with and fully recommend:

http://www.daz3d.com/hot-touch-outfit-for-genesis-2-female-s

Using PP2014, I find that sometimes clothing or something won't conform to a figure like it should. With most products I will load g2 (whatever, but usually it happens with F) and then load the clothes I want, and they will auto fit and conform to her to a degree (sometimes it's troublesome fitting g2f clothes to g2m, but that's not the proiblem here)

Some clothes won't conform to the figure. They load in T pose instead of to the figure automatically. I can conform them manually like I would using Gen4 figures but they don't inherit the morphs of the figure so like say I had Lilith 6 dialed in and loaded a shirt that did not automatically conform, there would be a lot of poke through and it would not load the FBMS.

A product in question I have issues with is Werewolf hunter where most things just won't load to g2f...

I think maybe the necklace does, idk.

And with Elven Armor I think it's called for g2f it does conform to her automatically but it won't read her FBMs...

Why am I having this issue?

Are some products just improperly made?

Is it the way my runtimes are set up?

I find I think I have more issue with clothes I have outside of my specified 'genesis clothes' folder than I do with the ones inside of it.

Which is just my personal choice...see here for example:

and loading the pants alone from werewolf hunter (pants and belt together loads fine for some reason though)

As part of my job, I deal with physical vendors, many of whom deal in exclusive items, such as reproduction parts for classic cars. Some of them are real assholes (Can I say that here?)

You would think that someone who deals with customers face-to-face would be more polite that someone who's customer interaction is exclusively online, but that's not the case. The vendors here at DAZ seem to be a pretty good bunch of people... case in point:

I have a webcomic, and the other day I realized that it just wouldn't be complete without the many products created by Maclean in his (her?) Everyday series. In fact, I've bought about 75% of his creations. So, since I was in a good mood, I sent him a thank-you note.

I got a very nice response, in which he not only appreciated the feedback, but explained why he creates the products that he does.

So what are your good vendor experiences?

I do commercial art and sell images through an online stock agency. I heard through an acquaintance that Daz artsists apparently have been complaining because their products are being sold through other parties such as in my case.

Please note I am talking about RENDERED images (artwork), not actual software packages.

What I have learned is this: My agency is on the verge of no longer accpeting images with Daz products. Well, if that's going to be the case, then I want to return all the products I purchased and get my money back. That's a nice way of saying "Screw you." I double-checked the license agreement and it still says we have the right to sell our artwork.

I don't know what the entire situation is but if what I heard becomes true, then why am I here? Why am I spending money on your products?

OK, this hasn't happened yet so I don't want to sound like a ranting reactionary, and yes, I don't know all the facts of what the "discussions" to date are all about. But I wanted to say something before it's too late. I can draw and I can do phootgraphy so I will do just fine without spending another dime on Daz artsists. I found Daz to be a great way to increase my inventory but it will be unfortunate for all Daz artists if a few complainers are going to force us commercial artists to no longer purchase Daz products.

Maybe it's just because the release of the current characters, Leo, Gia or Olympia, but this Arena is more roman than greek.Greek arenas are more oval for Chariot races or other sportive events. The round arenas are mostly half-rounded and have on one side with buildings as scenery for theater. And they are not called arena,,they are called amphitheater.

This little inconsistency does not detract from a great model.

I've got an animation project in mind (basically the characters from Ghastly's Ghastly Comic playing an MMO) and I've been trying to make renders that look game-like. And by game-like I mean "I'm running this on an old Windows XP laptop" game-like and not "I've got the best gaming computer known to mankind" game-like.

I've been studying a lot of game models to make sure I get the modelling of the characters right (going to be weird working with such low poly counts after never having really cared about the polygons budget before) and I've been trying to get them to render in a way that makes them look as close as they did to the game they came out of. It seems OpenGL is the engine that gives the results I'm most after, which makes sense since most game engines render in OpenGL or DirectX and it certainly gives me the speed I'm hoping for. But the OpenGL Intermediate gives completely unusable shadows in Daz Studio. Is there a way to make Daz Studio render shadows in OpenGL that will look more like the way an actual game engine renders OpenGL shadows?

I can kind of get the effect I'm after with 3Delight but I find that 3Delight really doesn't like low poly non-subdivided models. These random black lines appear along the edge of the polygons with non subD models in 3Delight.

Iray produces really cute looking renders of low poly models. They look like photos of little paper models, it's absolutely adorable, but definitely not what I'm after.

Could we have some official DAZ presence in this thread, please?

I've just put in a help ticket enquiring about the recent changes to the Zendesk system. The new webpage design is pitifully inadequate and much less easy to use than the old version. There's much too much pale grey text on white background, which I can only see by straining my eyes.

The most critical failure, though, is that we can't reopen a closed ticket any more, only create a followup. I did one just now, and it isn't really a followup, it's a new blank ticket with a little note in the description.

This alone is enough to make the Zendesk system unuseable.

Most of the time, I get good, prompt replies to my tickets, but every now and then my ticket gets closed because someone has misunderstood or not completely read what I wrote in the description. In the previous setup, I could easily re-open the ticket. This is now impossible.

In its current state, Zendesk is not fit for purpose.

Hi all, I have run into an unusual issue in DAZ Studio 4.8. When I move a translate slider (ie, x-trans) on a bone, the body part moves while I hold the slider. When I release slider, the body part snaps back to its original position. I noticed it with ghost bones.

For example, I loaded Victoria 4's Morphing Fantasy Dress. When I dragged the xtrans slider for the Skirt Base ghost bone, nothing moves. See the DSImage1 image.

However when I convert the dress to TriAx weight map and while I drag the xtrans slider, part of the dress moves. See the DSImage2 image.

But, when I release the slider, the dress snaps back to its original position. See the DSImage3 image.

Is it supposed to do that? I though TriAx was only for rotation sliders.

I ran into this when I was playing with Genesis 3 and converted her to TriAx and removed the general weight maps. When I dragged her facial ghost bones xtrans slider, it would affect her face. When I released the slider, her face snapped back to it's original position.

I didn't think the x-translate on the ghost bones would work without the general/dual quaternion map.

Thank you for your time.

After several months of the new forum design, I find it hard to believe that I still get signed out/in every time I visit the forums. We keep hearing that DAZ are working on it, it's random, it's difficult to pin-point, blah, blah, blah.

Come on, guys!! In 20+ years of surfing the net, I've NEVER had this problem with any other site. How is it conceivable that in 2016, a site can't keep me signed in from one day to the next? DAZ seem to have no problem finding extremely complex and creative ways to connect software/store, and all sorts of other wonderful innovations, but they can't fix a simple cookie issue?

I'm really, really tired of this daily hassle over such a seemingly minor problem. And yes, I've done all the cache/cookie clearing others have suggested.
