I am trying to do commissions for people but I can't figure out how to price things.

I had it set at base price for $40 and $5 per extra char, $10 per difficulty with the commission (like if there's a lot of detail and I know it's going to be trouble)

But I have people telling me I need to charge more.

So what should the price be?

I thought maybe the 3D art world might be more knowledgable on the amount.

Here's an example on my skill level.

I am not the best but I am okay.

I've been saying this to my close 3D friends for some time. I'm now putting it out there to the larger community. I'm curious to know how people feel, and if anyone agrees with me.

(But please, PLEASE, let's not make it an "I'm right, you're wrong" debate, but a "I think I'm right because..." kind of thing. Its a really atmospheric sccene, reminds me of some of the hydrotheraputic physical facilities used by the Navy, olympic training facilities and universities. The notorious Dore Stauch is said to have commited a series of freaky murders during WWI that centered around her activities at a german hydrotherapy clinic. This early facility at the University of Berlin, seems to fit well with Jack's model. Shadows are the areas obscured from light. Its funny that something that IS not material, is the material subject of so many horror and sci-fi productions. There are many movies and TV sieries based on shadows. Who recalls the X-Files "Soft Light" episode where a scientist (brilliantly played by Tony Shalhoub) is afraid of his own shadow, as it eliminates anyone who crosses its perimeter.

What does this theme trigger in your imagination?

I seem to get these, intermittently, on one of my computers. I have been able to narrow it down to something with the NVIDIA driver.

However the error only occurs while running DS. And, even then, it doesn't happen regularly. Or with any consistent stimulis. I can go a week and not get it, then suddenly get it three times in a row.

I can also run pretty graphic intensive games (Fallout 4 on max settings, for example) for hours and never once see the error.

It almost seems like it happens when I leave DS idle for too long, then start it going again. Almost like a car that hasn't had enough time to idle in the morning.

I have a question that I suspect the answer is "no", but here goes...

I created a full body morph in Hexagon from the G2F base. Part of the morph includes long rabbit ears. All worked out pretty good, but now I find that I'd like to be able to pose the ears in an alternate position. So, the question is, can I just reposition the ears and save out a second morph that only changes the ears and add it, or will it re-apply the rest of the morph changes, basically doubling them?

I suppose a work around is just to zero out FBMorph 1 and add FBMorph 2 at 100%, but it would be nice to get some pseudo-movement by mixing them and just changing the ears. If I were to set a 60/40% split, for example, would that leave the rest of the body changes at 100%, and just mix the ear area?

Also, assuming that would work, is there a way to link sliders, so as one goes up, the other goes down, with them totalling 100%?

Thanks!

I thought I might share the obvious

if you have lights on the ceiling rather than make them emitters in iray, Octane or Luxrender and presumably Cycles, why not put holes in the mesh either via geometry editing or transmaps and stick the sun above and make it big!

no fireflies!!!!!

you still get an "indoor light" look as confined to those fittings,

alternatively if not showing the ceiling at all, just hide it.

I am only posting this as some may have overlooked the obvious, we are working with filmsets/ a photography studio after all, the real thing they would add lights have cut out sets etc.
