I am curious how big of a render would be big enough to use for print. I made a picture for my uncle but was never able to get it out onto a t-shirt or cup for him, now unfortunately it's too late, he loved wolves and the family likes the picture so they want it put on his tombstone. I'm not sure how big the image will be on there so I'm not sure wether or not I should re-render the picture really big to be safe. Also would i need permissions from Daz or venders to be able to have the render used? I know when I go to Walmart to print renders I still sometimes get a run around because I don't have proof of where I got them from.

DAZ Steve posted this in the previous thread on DAZ Connect and Encryption, but since it's a big change we thought it deserved a new thread of its own:

I have an announcement to make:

It has taken a bit of time, researching of numbers, and technical development and testing, but we feel that the jist of the idea above is not only doable, but does indeed address a significant number of concerns of Daz, the interest of the PA's, and customers. As such, Timmins, I want to say "We hear you", and furthermore "We thank you" for your suggestion.

Effective immediately we are rolling out functionality that will cause Encrypted products to become un-encrypted 12 months after launch. This will be through a process that runs on our servers and replaces the encrypted content with a non-encrypted one. Anyone who buys or updates the product after that point will get the non-encrypted version. This means that even if you buy it during that first year, at the end of the time period you will be able to get it as an update without encryption if that is of concern to you.

This change is effective now. Any encrypted content that has or will release will automatically decrypt after 12 months after its launch date.

 The folks at Daz

And on formats and file organisation:

Once it's de-crypted you should be able to pull them down through DIM if you would like. Also, we are almost done with development on a new content hierarchy for Content Library that should address a lot of people's concerns with wanting the old Content Library-like experience, and more flexibility with moving things around. More details to come (within weeks) on that.

(not to say I don't like the beautiful men, cos I do....It's just fabulous to see something so DIFFERENT!!)

Can you feel it pulling on you, now? Well, I might as well buy the morphs, and then the Fit Them All, and then maybe Michael 7 starts to look pretty good...and then...and then...

Humour aside, I thought I'd put this out there for any costume creators, in case they're aiming for realism in female body armour for modern or futuristic settings. :) The text is quite informative. It goes over a lot of useful things for designers to consider when making female clothing for combat.

Well, it's in my cart. A theatre is one of those nice-to-have items, but a big plus is that it appears to come with some G3 not-sexy poses! You know, just normal standing, sitting, and walking stuff that doesn't require flexi-ferret genes...

More of this "normal" stuff for G3, please!

I just finished a project with Iray, and am about to run it through Reality simply because I can.

I need a new computer. Initially I had a budget of only $1000 and so I picked this one out: http://www.adorama.com/CYGUA3700AD.html

However, my tax refund was a little more than I expected. So, by really stretching the budget and being very conservative on buying anything else for awhile I Think I could possibly get this one instead: http://www.adorama.com/CYSLC8040AD.html?utm_medium=display&utm_source=criteo

(Note: detailed specs of each can be seen by scrolling down and clicking on the spec tab)

So my question is: Is the second (and more expensive) one really worth the extra cost?

Thanks for all your help and insights,

Charlie

The other day I was shopping for a superhero cape that was easy to pose (i.e. I think it was rigged).

I recall that it had Loops on it (I think you could hide them later) in various positions so you could grab them and tug the cape into a wide variety of shapes.

I also recall that one of the sample images of the black cape had rings attached to it.

Does this ring a bell with anybody? I've searched here and at two other sites I frequent, but cannot seem to find it.
