<p>Has anyone out there tried to use the Hat Deformer from Netherworks?&nbsp; I am trying to attach some magnets to the Anders hair (this is a pp2 file, not a cr2), and I cannot get the magnets or the collective attachment file to attach to the hair.&nbsp; I am following the instruction included in the Readme that came with the download; I have tried to load the magnets, then apply attachment. Then I tried to parent the magnets&nbsp;clusters themselves directly&nbsp;to the hair.&nbsp; In both cases, I used the y-trans file to raise the magnet field clusters to the hair,&nbsp; yet the hair did not reflect any indication that the magnets were applied or, when I adjusted the magnets, that the magnets were having any effect.&nbsp; What am I doing wrong?&nbsp; Any advice will be greatly appreciated.&nbsp; Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&nbsp;tried to add some more detail to a ground plane by using a displacement map. unfortenatly that only seems to work when using realy high subdivision. That is not so when using bumpmaps and normal maps. But is impossible to achieve real depth with normal and bump maps.</p>

<p>Is there some trick or so that i have overlooked?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know why I do what I do, but this is what I did:</p>

<p>I bought a character/jewelry package, and this morning I noticed that I hadn&#39;t installed the jewelry.&nbsp; So I went to Products/Install (name of character/jewelry), and installed through Connect.</p>

<p>Sometimes products in my DAZ Connect library won&#39;t show up in DS 4.9, so I usually copy/paste the files manually from the Cloud Library to My Library.</p>

<p>This morning, I&nbsp;CUT the character/jewelry&nbsp;files from the Cloud library and pasted them into My Library.&nbsp; Sigh.</p>

<p>Now, I&#39;m getting weird results when I try to load that character and jewelry.&nbsp; At first, I was getting &quot;file does not exist&quot; and &quot;do you wish to save this scene before closing&quot; messages.</p>

<p>Then I discovered I could right-click and &quot;merge into scene,&quot; and both character and jewelry will work.&nbsp; But I&#39;d rather just left-click to add them, like normal.</p>

<p>Before I did that Connect/cut from Cloud library routine, the character itself was working perfectly.&nbsp; And I checked the jewelry folder, and everything&#39;s in order as far as file names.&nbsp; Nothing wrong with the download files.</p>

<p>I even re-installed DS.&nbsp; Whew.</p>

<p>Long story short -- is there any way I can re-install thru Connect (I&#39;m not seeing that option in &quot;Products&quot; now), so I can leave the Cloud files where they should be?&nbsp; I&#39;m wondering if DS is trying to reference the Cloud library, and not finding what it wants to find.&nbsp; That is the only thing I can think of.</p>

<p>Any help appreciated.</p>

      <title>DAZ 4.9 - Smart Content Icons - Why do not all DIM installed products show in color?</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, just migrated from 4.8 to 4.9 as I got tired with all that legacy iray texture handling.</p>

<p>So far the migration went quite well, I have to say. Even installed some of the connect freebies/bargains like Dragon Queen to finally try them out.</p>

<p>Had to change the connect download directory to an external drive and redownload metadata but that seems to work now and the discovery might work even better as with 4.8 or older versions.</p>

<p>What I do not get though is the mechanic of the smart content pane. It is supposed to show purchased stuff in color versus non-purchased stuff in black and white, right? I do not plan to fully embrace connect as I don&#39;t want encrypted content like many others. So I plan to still download all content via DIM (with only very little exceptions like the mentioned freebies/bargains only available encrypted).</p>

<p>Now some of the content I purchased is shown in color. I have the option to download via connect which I don&#39;t want to use as the content is already in my library via DIM. For that content I can jump from the smart pane to the library and choose the parts I want to use.</p>

<p>But that does only work for some content. Other content I purchased and installed via DIM is only shown black and white. If I use the context menu to go over to the library, it only shows an install icon but not the already installed content.</p>

<p>Example: I&#39;ve purchased the V7 Pro Bundle with the Austrani Outfit and also purchased the additional Textures. Once I search in the smart content pane for Austrani, it shows both the outfit and the texture product. But only the Outfit icon is displayed in color and allows to jump to the library and use the product whereas the texture products icon is in black and white and shows only an install icon in the library. Once I don&#39;t use the Products tree in the library (which is the target tree coming from the smart content tab) but the DAZ studio formats tree, everyhing is fine and I can access the textures.</p>

<p>So big questions is: How does studio/connect detect which product one should have access to or which product is already installed by DIM. It works for some but unfortunately not all. Is there any way to update or align the libaries?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m fairly new to Daz Studio and just bought my first Genesis 3 character.&nbsp;However when I load the character it says it has&nbsp;missing files. The discription says the figure only requires Geneis 3 Female, which I have. However it lists two missing files:&nbsp;</p>

<p>data/daz 3d/genesis 3/female/morphs/daz 3d/body/pbmnaveldepth.dsf</p>

<p>data/daz 3d/genesis 3/female/morphs/daz 3d/body/pbmnavelhorizontal.dsf</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Where can I get these so it doesn&#39;t give me that error message every time I load the figure? And also how do I contact the vendor I bought it from to let them know? Or do I just contact Daz Studio directly? OR am I just doing something wrong?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Again I&#39;m fairly new to buying from the Daz store&nbsp;and could use some advice and help with this. Thank you in advance for reading this and hopefully responding. :D I&#39;m not sure if I&#39;m doing something wrong, insatlled something wrong, or if it&#39;s an issue on the vendor side, so I&#39;m not sure what action to take.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m working on a shader set, and I&#39;d like to have the freedom to create additional freebie (or maybe pay) presets to go with it.</p>

<p>Normally, though, if you save a shader preset, that includes a &#39;copy&#39; of the entire shader. I&#39;d like the ability to just have the settings of a preset, not changing what shader you have.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to pin something so that it absolutely, 100% will not deviate from its current position come hell or high water until such time as it is unpinned?</p>

<p>I want to be able to pin an anatomy to a location in a scene and not have it move at all no matter how much I tug and pull and pose the rest of the figure and the current pinning system is just too anemic to do that. It&#39;s like the current pin says &quot;well... we&#39;d really like it if you wouldn&#39;t change your position but, you know, if you want to move we&#39;re not going to stop you&quot;. I want a pin that&#39;s more like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman where if something even twitches like it&#39;s going to move it&#39;s 2 millimeters in front of its face yelling &quot;WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION PRIVATE!!?&quot;</p>

Then I went to buy something in the FWSA flash sale, only to find my store credit has been almost wiped out! I got charged full price on the everything, even the PC+ freebie. So watch your transactions carefully. I&#39;ve submitted a ticket. Anyone have any idea how long it&#39;s likely to take to be resolved? I&#39;m keen to take advantage of the ongoing sales but need my store credit back :(</p>

      <title>Building Intel Rigs for IRay</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After seeing a lot of&nbsp;simultaneous topics about pc recommendations, I thought it might be helpful to compile a list of IRay-optimized rigs at varying price points,&nbsp;at varying levels of performance, and for 3 different Intel sockets: LGA 1150 (such as Z97), LGA 2011-3 (X99) and LGA 1151 (such as Z170).&nbsp;Nothing against AMD; I just don&#39;t know anything about their processors or motherboards and therefore can&#39;t make any informed recommendations.</p>

<p>The three budget levels are $750 (entry level), $1,500 (mid-level), $3,000 (high-performance).</p>

<p>Three other caveats:&nbsp;</p>

<p>1. I am leaving out cases from the lists of components because cases are very personal, prices fluctuate, and people may have their own cases already.</p>

<p>2. I&#39;m also assuming one already has an OS, so have not included that in the cost of the build.</p>

<p>3. In general, a good gaming rig will make a good IRay rig. Searching for Nvidia-based gaming rigs will give you more options as well.</p>

<p>When picking these parts, it&#39;s my opinion that the following traits are the most important:</p>

<p>1. High CPU speed is more important than number of cores</p>

<p>2. Amount of RAM is more important than speed of ram</p>

<p>3. High number of CUDA cores for the price point</p>

<p>4. Large amount of VRAM for the price point</p>

<p>5. A Solid State Drive for the OS and apps</p>

<p>First up will be an entry level LGA 1150 build.</p>

<p>Some questions that may arise:</p>

<p><strong>Why put an unlocked processor meant for overclocking on a motherboard that doesn&#39;t support overclocking?</strong></p>

<p>The i7 4790k and the i7 6700k are unlocked and overclockable, but they&#39;re also both significantly faster than the locked versions, the 4790 and 6700,&nbsp;respectively. You don&#39;t have to overclock to take advantage of the higher base clock speed. When buying one of these unlocked processors, consumers are paying for both the higher speed and the ability to overclock, and the higher speed is worth it.</p>

<p>The core i5 4690 and i5 6600, however, have the same clockspeed as the unlocked models, the 4690k and 6600k. Is these cases, the price difference represents only the ability to overclock, so unlocked models are not worth it for IRay purposes.</p>

<p><strong>Why no 5960X on the High-Performance LGA 2011-3 build?</strong></p>

<p>The 5960X is currently the best processor on the X99 chipset, but it won&#39;t make IRay render faster. The price difference between the 5820K and the 5960X will get you another 980 Ti.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve converted a character from v4 to G2F with GenX2.</p>

<p>When I use the shape, the eyes are in the wrong position. (pic 1)</p>

<p>The V4 character has an &quot;Eye Fix Morph&quot; which if I use that on G2F, the eyes move to the right position. (pic 2)</p>

<p>Is there some way to make this correct postion the new zero point?..like If I save as a character Preset or something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If you add an item to the shoping cart on the site webshop and then log in you can not buy the item.<br />
Item will show up as in cart but your cart will be empty.</p>

<p>Trying stuff like logging out and removing it again&nbsp;or using another browser will not help.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi! I have created a large city setting and, probably not surprisingly, DAZ is now running quite slowly for pretty much every operation I try to make. The ovearall file size is about 32mb, which sounds pretty small, but I guess is pushing things in DS.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am using a MacPro 2013 and&nbsp;am mostly working in wireframe mode to make things run a bit faster than in the shading mode.&nbsp;I&nbsp;am looking for any memory or setting tricks to make things run faster. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;I bought Mimic Lite 3.1 because it included Victoria 1. But, I&#39;ve been looking at the program, and I think I&#39;d like to get some use out of it.</p>

<p>So, does anyone know where I can get tutorials about Mimic Lite. The only ones that I&#39;ve been able to find are for Mimic Pro and Mimic Live.</p>

<p>Also, can I add later models like Gen 2 and Gen 3 characters to it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi</p>

<p>I picked up Reality 4 as it has such rave reviews and I've been trying to use it but have run into a weird issue.  It never seems to see everything in a scene.  Sometimes it will see only a couple items, such as clothing, other times it will see a lot, but still miss out on entire characters or other big items.  I'm generally not using many things that aren't purchased through the DAZ store, however, it seems that every time I use something that I did purchase elsewhere, it gets picked up by Reality just fine.  I can't seem to find a way to force Reality to reinspect the scene, or manually add items from the scene into the list it creates.</p>

<p>Has anyone else seen this and know what's going on?</p>
