I see today Daz took out that new Tween Julie 7, but there will be a Male Tween too, won't it? Daz Staff promised they'll create a Male Tween this year, so I just want to confirm he'll be created, because it'd be unforgivable they'll create a female tween only again.

Please Daz, confirm Male Tween will be available in short time.

Maybe I'm just bored and felt like writing something, but the other day I was looking through the store and noticed a bunch of things that seemed to be created with Fallout 4 in mind (or possibly it's just post apocalyptically coincidental). I know I've seen the Skyrim series mentioned many times, but I was wondering what else was popular... Actually, since some series take a few years for the next title to come out and many of us tend to just play filler games in between our favorites, I'm curious about stuff from even a few years back or even your favorite "epic" titles... even if those were/are quite old.

Feel free to throw in any interesting "epic moments" you might recall from a game, like maybe playing late night and having something jump out of the shadows at the same moment your cat hopped into your lap, kinda thing...

Also, curious... Console or Computer?

Its all in fun, just curiosity and making conversation...

I'll start... My first video game was a Tank Battle knock off I bought at "Genovese Drugs" drugstore in '78 or '79... I think I payed $18 for it... After that it was an Atari 2600 and many of the subsequent consoles after... Traditionally I've been a console gamer, (with a few text adventures on the computer in the past)... I suppose at one time I could have been considered a "gamer"... Lately I don't play games that much anymore, but mostly I tend towards games with "big worlds" like the GTA series, Fallout, (totally missed the Skyrim series)... Driving games like Gran Turismo and Forza... In the past Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Soild, Ico... Stuff like that.

Recently I have been playing Fallout 4 and have found that to be quite enjoyable with lots of special moments... I'm thinking getting the Season Pass expansion...

So how about you?

Is there a modern (non futuristic) compound bow available? Or do I hack one out of 3dwarehouse?

Seriously, this is sort of hard to find. Besides the one in the future wilderness and mercenaries weapons packs (scaling looks off), I can't find a good poseable compound bow.

What are your favorite types of trees to use in Daz Studio? There are a number of prop/figure style trees by Predatron, Esha, and others. There are some trees that are done as a flat plane (billboard) with alpha channels. Howie Farkes and Tango Alpha build large complex sets with multiple instances. What works for you, and why?

I believe one or two posters on these very forums have done this. What should I know? I'm participating in NaNoWriMo and am seriously considering trying to finish the book I've started and make it into an e-book. I did a render of the main character and think I could tweak it and turn it into a nice e-book cover but what are the potential issues I should be aware of? Is most purchased content (Daz, Rendorisity, Runtime-DNA) legal to use in this way?

French Ski Resort

Saw this amazing ski prop and knew it would be an instant buy for me. The scene looks incredible and different from any other outdoor prop I have. BUT.. before I added it to my cart I searched the Daz store for character ski outfits and found nothing. I looked over at the Renderosity store and there is only a ski outfit for V4 (as usual nothing for our poor males!)

So regrettably I am now holding back on my purchase unless anybody knows of an available male/female ski outfit with skis, and where such an item can be purchased.

M4 morphs for V4

I know I can have a figure where M4 can use V4 morphs, but now I need the oppisuite.

I need V4 to be able to use M4 morphs. I have a set of creature face morphs and I want to have both male and female of the creature, but there is not set of these morphs for V4. How can I work around this??

Can we make this a thing from now on? I'd LOVE to start seeing renders of the characters without it's "base" character in the future. Often times I don't have the base character and really want to see what she'd look like as a stand alone character. This type of render is HUGELY helpful to me in deciding if I want to purchase a character. So, PAs, can we make this a thing from now on? I love it and I think you'd find it would help your sales increase - as often times people who don't have the base character will just pass it up - but seeing what the character looks like without the base can really change their minds about passing it up. :)

Defragging your machine

I started a defrag of my Windows 7 64 bit machine at 6:30 this morning. It's been 10 hours and it's just at 8% consolidated. How long does it take everyone else? I know you should do this once a month but I never do it because it takes so long.

Could the gazillion megabytes of Daz content be the culprit? Need some help with this. Thank!

I grabbed a free item (http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-anime-starter-bundle) with an order today and was curious how well the items might work with Genesis 3.

Here is a quick Iray render of Rune 7 HD with Pure Hair Bubblegum for Genesis, ArtemisX for Genesis and Neo Stop. The outfit, and Neo Stop just had the Daz Uber shader applied to all surfaces. The hair got Slosh's UHT1 Iray shader. The ArtemisX outfir was autofit, including the boots. Lighting was via HDRI lighting.

No fussing or optimizing things. Used Polish' Shotgun and pose.

Worked pretty well, even the boot autofit! More detail work with IRay shaders would really improve things, but this was less than 10 minutes of setup and render time.

Putting items in my libary

Why is it when I go install items in my libary not everything is showing up? I have downloaded alot of free clothing from different websites but none of the outfits or anything shows up in none of the folders.

Marshian is working on a 3DL version of Above the Clouds and gave me a chance to play with it early. Woo!

This is a redo of something I worked on earlier. I think with this one I needed to up some of the detail on the clouds, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

(If people want to add stuff with the Iray Above the Clouds ( http://www.daz3d.com/above-the-clouds-for-3delight-stratocumulus and http://www.daz3d.com/above-the-clouds-for-iray-nimbostratus ) for comparison, that would be cool)

An old bug is back but much more problematic than before.

Iray Wood Shaders

How many more glass and metal shaders are going to show up before we get a set of wood shaders? It's not as if wood is a rare find in the real world. It shows up lots in my 3D world too, and I shouldn't still have to be cobbling my own solutions together every time it does. Iray has been around ages now. I don't expect every product to be tailor-made for me, but there'd be a lot more time available for kit-bashing and geometry editing if basic surface materials like wood were available in numbers as well. I'm trying not to sound too grouchy here - I'm sure I'd use another set of ornate glass shaders. Eventually. I just want a versatile set of wood shaders. Please.

I'm not talking about the forum notifications, but the daily emails about whatever sale is going on. It's been almost a week since I've seen any of them, but I didn't do anything to change any settings. I did go through my account and didn't see any place to subscribe/unsubscribe, so I'm at a loss as to why they stopped.

I keep trying to make a purchase from DAZ. I use Paypal Credit for online purchases.

So I go to checkout with Paypal and it takes me to some DAZ/Paypal interface as it usually does, but the choice for paying with Paypal credit is not there.

Just the choice of the bank account tied to Paypal

Ive purchased with Paypal credit before (my Paypal credit history shows two such transactions) but the last 24 hours NOPE.

What is going on?
