favorite Iray skydome?

Pro and con coments on skydomes for Iray ... I have Iray Worlds and am happy with some of the horizons and skys, it is difficult to set time of day and latitude and longifude (unless I'm missing something). If you were to have just one, which would it be?

It's time to browse the RRRR Twisted Lyrics entries thread, laugh, sing along and vote!

Anyone can vote, not only those participating in the actual contest. You can vote for any entries except for you own entries, and we vote in two categories, Best and Funniest. Best is more of a traditional render contest voting where funniest more takes the humorous look at the image. Some images have a few lines of text explaining the story behind them, which often helps the voting, specially in the funniest category. Each win (1st to 3rd place) will also give the winner at least one sticky Lucky Bastard pull, which means the next round will be a little harder, see below for how wins and Lucky Bastards are counted.

The voting starts now, and ends Sunday, August 21, at 23:59:59 DAZ local time.

How votes are tallied and summed up:

Voting points: 1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 3 Points, 4th = 2 Points and Tiebreaker = 1 Point.

If an image gets 1st, two 2nd, one 4th and two tiebreakers in a category, that is 5 + 2x4 + 2 + 2x1 = 17 Points

Every image points per category is summed up, and top three is calculated in each category. As we now have five prizes, a maximum of two entries from the same artist can end up top three in each category, this is to spread the joy a little more.

The image with most points from the same artist will be the base, the the average score for up to for other images will be added to that score, but if that image takes a top three placement, images who got to the cream of the crop with help from other entires, will gain extra LBs based on how many places it climbed, minus one. Here are two examples:

Example 1: The top image from X has 15 points. X also has five other images that has been voted for, 10, 8, 7, 7 & 5 points. Taking the average of the first four images behind the top one is 10+8+7+7 = 8, so the first image which was at 4th place, now gets 23 points and rises to the top and becomes the winner. But, that image climbed 3 steps, so it will not only win, but give the winner 3 LB for the next run.

Example 2: The top image by Y has 11 points, and the second image 9 points. The top image will now have 20 points and go from 5th place to 3rd place, granting Y 2 LB for the next run.

If two images ends up with the same score, we use the same rules as in the European Song Contest, the number of higher scores wins over many lower scores, so if one image has 5+5+5+1 (16) and another has 2+2+4+4+2 (16) the first one will come before.

To avoid vote-spamming, anyone voting needs to post here in this thread that they did vote, and use the same name as they have posting here as the DAZ Forum Name in the first question in the vote system at SurveyMonkey.

Off Topic: Britain's Red Phone Booths Revamped...

I just saw the most amazing thing on the news over here in Canada! They were showing how Britain's Red Phone Booths are being refurbished into cafes and shops...one was a coffee shop, one was a salad bar, and the other they showed fixed cellphones. Personally I think this is a uniquely creative way of reusing them instead of removing them completely.

I clicked on something up next to the DrawStyle Options menu and it seems like something flashed across the screen that Set Exposure from Here. And the the Iray preview got incredibly bright. Now I can't figure out how to Undo it because I don't know I did. (See image) Any ideas?

Update: Just checked out the product page of Melidae Crown as it the picture is used as promo there as well. There are some characters (Ashlyn HD, Serenity, Yuki, Eleanor) listed there and shape-wise Yuki might come close but then the texture would be from some other character?

DIM/Connect/Forum Log-In Issues

This has just started happening in the last few days and I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I go to log into DIM and it tells me that the user name and/or password (which are saved) aren't good. I sometimes will have it happen at the same time with logging into the forums as well. I also seemed to have it happen when trying to log in to Connect. Usually it's in the evening (between 7-10pm PST) and can last up to half an hour. Generally forum access will come back first, then a few minutes later DIM and Connect.

Very weird.

Stripes for DAZ Big Cat 2

In the real world, each tiger has a unique stripe pattern, but there's only one included within DAZ Big Cat 2. If I've got more than one tiger in a render, the lack of variety becomes a little obvious. Does anyone know of any alternative textures (free or paid) created for Big Cat 2's tiger?

Hello everyone,

It may be a strange request because I haven't been able to find anything out there, but I'm looking for a package of drugs of some kind. I'm doing a crime scene where the cops find a package of drugs. I was thinking like a pound sized pouch that is wrapped in seran wrap. I was hoping for something that looks like cocaine or heroine, but marijiuana or something else will work. Like I said I know it seems like a strange request, but it is kind of crucial to the story line and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

M4 Double-Breasted Suit for Poser?

I admit I have not yet exhausted my search options, but I am a bit exhausted and need to call it a night.

I'm working on a project set in 1946 and I'm looking for a suitable double-breasted suit for Michael 4 that will work in Poser. I have the M4 Zoot Suit from R'osity, but it's really too long. It's definitely not a 1940s style.

If there isn't a double-breasted suit, can someone point me to a nice, PI-style suit that I could use instead?

Transfer Utility

I am new to DAZ3D but I have purchased some content and done some basic secenes. I wondered how easy it would be to create my own clothing, and rigging it for use in DAZ. I am familiar with 3DS Max and could create the meshes there. I looked at the Transfer Utility in the DAZ Catalog, and was about to purchase it when I saw a note at the end saying it was already included in Daz 4.9 Pro, which is what I have installed, according to Help->About. So I went looking for instructions on how to use it. One tutorial said click on the Scene tab and click on Transfer Utility, but it wasn't there. Another tutorial said Scene Tab, Options Menu -> Assets -> Transfer Utility, but I can't find this either. I looked in the online help and everything to do with the transfer utility is marked WIP (I assume work-in-progress) and tells me I do not have authority to see it. So I am stumped. Can anyone help me?

If you're anything like me, you're just not that into buying pose packs - so when I saw that today's sale was all about poses I had a less than excited reaction. But before you go all "meh" about this sale, you might want to look twice (I'm glad I did). A lot of stuff in this sale isn't just poses. Oh no - many of the items listed come with goodies! From weapons, to buildings, to outfits, to dogs and horses and even characters/figures bundles.

I did some hunting and found quite a few of the sale items that come with goodies. I thought I'd share what I found here (keep in mind that I might have missed a couple and that some of these things come with only one goodie while others of these come with many goodies). So here's some of the sale items that come with other things other than just poses:

I hope that I've helped you guys find something(s) that you like. Running into some problems that make me wonder if I'm encountering a bug or if I'm just being dumb.

For the life of me, SSS seems to do exactly nothing with UberSurface or UberSurface2 in latest DS. I don't remember if it worked before for me.

Can someone confirm?

how do you impliment timing with sub tracks in animate2?

I am learning how to use sub-tracks and getting to grips with it ok so far but still have questions. I know how to add sub-tracks but I don't get how to impliment the timing of something in the sub track you want done. Its easier to explain by example; say I wanted someone to just walk along (which I use an aniblock for this) then about half a second into the walk have her turn her head to the right. I do this with the sub track and it seems to work BUT it works as soon as I start playing it, I mean her head does not turn when its a second into the video but its turned as soon as its started. Am I missing something here with timing in order to make this possible if you can? the video shows what I have done so you can see what am doing anything wrong.

Also I had another quick unreleated question; is the puppeteer tab solely for making aniblocks that you save and use in animate2? I just had to confirm.
